Getting back into LH after the release of 2.5. Looking at some old mod ideas I had, one was to reform the professions that a sovereign could pick from on character creation. I was hoping to completely replace the vanilla professions through a mod (not altering the core file), but I can't remember/figure out how to do this, if it's even a potential possibility. Thanks in advance to anyone that might have some insight into this.

Arcane Bond does not work for Pariden either, in case you missed it...
Trogs are big vicious aggressive nasties. I wouldn't see them gaining by being masochists. I'd see it more like the Warrior ability. Instead of gaining over time, gaining by dishing out damage. (And Trog champs/sovs who pick warrior stack the two dealing damage gains, rewarding them heavily for a very, very aggressive policy on the battlefield.)
Yes I can see that.
No intentional similarities.
I'm sure...I was just kidding. [e digicons]O:)[/e] The mod looks good...I will give it a ride once 2.0 goes gold.
I love the idea that a sovereign can choose to favor, and enhance one element (earth air fire water) at the expense of the others via making landscape changes. (Favor fire and you lose some affinity with water, etc.)
Hmmm...sounds like my Rise of the Magi mod for FE. I'll have to check and see if Davrovana has been using my work without asking ;-)
Did Yithril/Trogs get skipped over in the racial bonus handout?
This is a concern of mine too. I see them as starting with higher Stamina, allowing them to use special abilities sooner than the other factions, but they don't gain Stamina per round. Instead, they can only gain Stamina by taking damage or hurting themselves.
Yes it is. A summon will not automatically upgrade like an enchantment. This is because the summoned unit can level up like a trained unit.
Derek, do you think it would be possible to fix the building rotation issue for 2.0?
Assassin's Strike is not working as advertised. As an example: The skill may say 'Execute a 42 attack', and the infocard will say 12-24 dmg after taking into account defense, but the result will be much below that, approximately 6 or 8 dmg. Usually the listed damage range on the infocard is accurate, so I'm not sure why the low damage results.
I personally use and recommend abob's Demons and Wizards . But here is a fairly complete list of all of the available mods for LH, with concise descriptions. forums.elementalgame.com/446461/
1) CoreRaceConfigs 2) No 3) I have made a mod which assigns standardized faction colors (and city names) to all of the DLC 5 sovereigns. Maybe this is what you're looking for? https://forums.elementalgame.com/455223/page/1/#3473941
What you're seeing in the top screenshot is the "cloth map" mode: this occurs when when you zoom out a certain distance. You can zoom back in sufficiently to get to the 3d map by rotating your mouse wheel. In addition to that, there is a setting by which you may adjust the cloth map depth, or rather, how far out in the zoom process the map will switch from 3d to cloth. The adjustment can be found under "Options" in the main menu (or hit ESC in game), click the
There are new tactical battle maps, which are immediately obvious, or not; depending on how long you've played the game. The DLC also includes new map 'stamps' - sections of the overland map which the random map generator pulls from when it creates a new game. So you won't see any entirely new maps per se, you'll just see more differentiation when playing with a randomly generated map.
CIV V Diplomacy is good?
Compared to FE/LH? Yes.
Those are features, my friend. Those are features...
If a solution can't be found within the current paradigm, I would prefer non-simultaneous turns to avoid issues like this. As it is, the AI gets a noticable advantage, especially on higher world difficulty levels and dense monsters setting, wherein the human has a lot more trouble clearing the landscape of monsters and the AI simply avoids them. The AI can even settle directly adjacent to lairs containing much more powerful monsters with their single, unguarded pioneer (which
Just give two extra logistics at the beginning of the game.
I was just looking at this post the other day and saw that Frogboy had mentioned that tactical LOS might be a possibilty somewhere down the road. Of course, he said this over two years ago.
Each of the six units makes an attack. If the attack hits, then the damage is applied (MinDmg is 1/2 MaxDmg.) So in the case presented in the OP, only one of the six figures made a succesful strike. Bad luck.
I have to say this has become a truly great mod! Having a ton of fun with the Kingdom of Raktur at the moment, and all of the other additional civs look like a lot of fun and really well thought out. The new Priest class is killer as well!!
I really like Civ V compared to earlier versions of the game. True, they streamlined (some would say simplified, but I disagree) some of the game mechanics a bit for the better. The thing Civ has going for it over a game like LH is found mostly in diplomacy and paths to victory. Starting with Alpha Centauri, Firaxis have made a concerted effort of making diplomacy a huge aspect of their empire building games, and it shows. Many aspects of the game affect diplomacy an
The Battlegrounds DLC is the first SD product in a while I haven't dropped money on pretty much immediately on release. I'm wondering if it positively alters the game or if the new stamps and tactical maps are even noticed while playing. Does anyone have any feedback on this product? Is it worth the money?
