But then wouldn't you have access to the map before it's actually been generated? Or would you have 2 cities in your back pocket that automatically start at level 2 when you find a proper place to put them during gameplay? *Confused*[/quote]
Well now we are just playing economics... since you can get the game new for around 27 dollars now, can't I argue that you paid 27 for the game and 23 for 'time'?

I thought this was published because it was believed to be 'ready' and no external influence was dictating the timing... Frogboy already addmitted he messed up saying it was ready when it wasn't ready and why he thought what he did. There were major time contraints laid on the team when the release date got pushed up to make the first windo

1SuperG, that's foolish. CookPro is a REAL TIME recipe management system. Elemental is turn based. Do some reading, jeesh.

Well, it's a large bag of popcorn... from reading this thread I can't tell if that qualifies. The butter, however, is epic. There can be no debate. It's bacon flavored.
Lol, funny how every discussion about epic-ness devolves into a battle of dictionaries. *gets popcorn out*
What about option 3; Don't require a 'beach' in order to build a harbor. A city close enough to water should be able to field naval units and board/disembark from transports. I'm not really sure why these special beach points are necessary. They don't really add any meaningful strategic value as is since they AI doesn't seem to care about attacking you from sea...

To be fair, MOO2, which is arguably one of the best 4x games of all time suffered the same problem. Even on impossible, there always came a tipping point that if you could withstand, the game invariably became one big downhill mop-up. But I do agree that this seems more pronounced in Elemental. The game simply doesn't draw you along like Civ does and force a pace that nearly guarantees each 'x' to be fleshed out. Early rushing and city spamming is basi
