Son of a bi... DAMN YOU CAPTAIN PLANET AND YOUR CONVOLUTED SUMMONING! I mean, uh, yeah it was only a basic list of some of the more "obvious" secondary effects. It might be counterproductive to add too many effects to any one element... then again, it could lead to some very narrow specialization which might just work rather well.

Caveat emptor: There will be no trog pr0n here, so if that's your predilection, please move on :) Just like units lack any sort of real differentiation due to almost no special abilities, magic is stuck in a similar rut. I'd propose that at the very basic level, targeted or AoE damage spells need to have well defined secondary effects, at least once you get beyond the most basic ones. In the following examples, I'd suggest either X or Y be determined by shard ow
Many of the items are very oddly constructed (the aforementioned armor oddities) and even more curiously priced. Legendary boots (9 armor) far better than the master heavy plate ones (8 armor -0.1 combat speed). Elementium Karrazan (20 attack +1 combat speed) costs a 2250g to make and a hearty investment into the magic tree while the "non-magic" equivalent is similarly "hard" to get to in warfare, but it is far cheaper at 900ish and has double the combat speed (12 attack +2 co
It's not that you're being ATTACKED by them it's that you had pathing that landed on their current location. To wit, you clicked on a square the round before, the yet to be hired champion moved there and on your automove to complete said pathing, you "attacked" the champion. It's the only way you can attack them and will give you the "Oh noes, you're a mur-diddly-erdler!" warning from those of your ilk (kingdom or empire).
I've played nothing but kingdom to date... the possibility that the empire tech tree is even LESS developed is troubling.
And perhaps making "difficult terrain" use up more AP, thus enabling you to create bottlenecks or penalizing otherwise completely advantageous defensible spots.

Especially given your own work on the excellent 1.4 community patch (and the one you guys are working on now). Casting influence is a really neat idea making you either build city improvements to expand said influence or
Here's the problem, Stryck: Releasing fundamentally broken and ill-designed games (as admitted by Brad and Boggie in various posts) does nothing whatsoever to help support PC gaming, nor the indie development side. While this is no AAA shop with multi-million dollar budgets per release, putting out games that are priced at a similar point while showing little of the "quality" (subjective mind you) nor "polish" (less so) does nearly irreparable harm to Stardock. Granted t
Those minions are nasty since they can hit the ENTIRE battlefield with 10 points of "true damage" (bypasses defense) in a single cast. The only option is to basically nuke them from orbit as soon as you see them. Even if it means ignoring juice AoE damage to just take out one of them since your sovereign and champions are fodder for this kind of nonsense.
[quote who="Nesrie" reply="68" id="2756874"]It will probably be a good idea not to fill your testing with Stardock fans who, till this day, refuse to admit that pretty important mistakes were made with this game. I know from this forum beta testers did bring up strong objections to some decisions that were ignored, so it's not as if the beta testers failed in any way, but the kid gloves did not come off and this is what the result of that is. You can't rely on loyalty to Stardock for life cus

My deepest condolences to those employees affected. This is a godawful time to be entering the jobs market (as I know all too well).
In 6 months to a year, maybe.
I had assumed it would be tab as it is on the world map. I believe it's worked as such a couple times during tactical combat, but it's rather dicey. I'll definitely give spacebar a shot.
That is a bit of a sparse list, eh? :) Some status effects, either as passives from elemental damage (fireball leads to chance of ongoing fire damage for example) or as the direct thrust of the spell would go a long way to removing the baseline uniformity of all tactical spells.
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="45" id="2753014"](I'm up north on vacation typing on an extremely slow connection so bear with me) I don't think people yet fully realize the completeness of Stardock's fail on Elementa's launch. I'm going to write more about this but not only did we think v1.05 was ready for everyone but we felt v1.0 was too. That's the level of disconnect/poor judgment on our part we're talking about. If the game had come out in February, it would
If you're using a mod that makes shards work (there are a couple now), you could definitely make an argument for taking all the spellbooks... except Enhancement which you'll get through pretty basic magic research. Mind you, at least one of said mods ( Abilities, Traits, and History's Modification ) greatly increases the number of useful sovereign traits so you mi
You know what's better than getting back forum access for a company that so little values my patronage? My $50 back. Email sent, gratification incoming.
No Rune, I never felt threatened. But your "should I tell 'em what you're doing elsewhere" comes off as nothing more than one.

Please do Rune. I stand by EVERYTHING I've said on Qt3 about the screwjob I've received from Stardock, both the botched game as well as the forum BS. I really rather enjoy that someone who resorts to THREATS as you have more than once in this thread alone is free to post whereas customers with legitimate issue are not so lucky.

Even more entertaining if you find a book that increase wisdom (level 5 goodie hut iirc). Breon's Tome or something like that. It does absolutely nothing, not even raising essence.
Maybe because I *NEVER* give out the email I use for online purchases to any forum? I get plenty enough spam as it is. If I'd known that I was in the running for a forum ban, I surely would have talked to support to have it tied to my original forum account or something along those lines. I guess chalk it up to the "vanity" of having an account in the 45k range tied to an email that stopped existing about 8 years ago.
