Can someone please program an option for scouts set on "Explore" to STAY THE HELL OUT OF DOOM LANDS. They see a great big chunk of map with dark green borders and make a beeline for it, attempting to release as many obscene level monsters as possible before getting obliterated, it's more than stupid, it's sadistic programming.

Finally got a good start going, when along about turn 100 a Guardian Statue backed up by a giant stack of scrap golems decides to go on a rampage through my lands obliterating all it sees. The stack has about 600 HP... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
I just got busy getting my ass handed to me again, this is ridiculous. Sitting on top of the nearby colony spots for me is were a bunch of glass cannons (great wolf, and his stupid enrage, the wolves have 9HP but can move across the map and obliterate anything), and a group of 3 ice wargs wandering aimlessly. Meanwhile Verga has an army of midgame warriors with iron weapons (maces) and max defense coming to slaughter me by the time I get a second city going. This is retarded, the wandering mo
Check out this thread that Tuidjy put together: https://forums.elementalgame.com/435680
There's nothing in there I don't already understand perfectly well. I can hammer the game on easy, but as soon as I jump to normal, the game just gets way too hard because I can't get off to a good start. You just can't beat down an elemental sitt
This game is brutally difficult for me on Normal difficulty. I can never get a good start, and the computer rapidly outpaces me. I've never really had this problem with any other game. One of my biggest problems is there is I have such a hard time expanding because there is a pile of BRUTAL monsters sitting right by every choice location to expand to. It takes me so long to get my heroes powerful enough to destroy them, it's silly. <p
Elemental 1.3 is most definitively NOT progress, but Stardock seems to have stopped giving a damn about the base Elemental game (not to mention stopped listening to us).
Units are way too fragile these days. If two comparable melee units touch each other, they simply both explode into a pile of gore. Armor is almost pointless, since the differential between attack power and defense power is usually way greater than hit points. It makes archery way too powerful, and war incredibly destructive.
Game still UNPLAYABLE. No point in continuing MY FIRST GAME in the new beta until a new one comes out. Cities can't have 1,3,6,10,15 workshops (studies, labs, etc...), as advertised, but 1,2,3,4,5. Way to make the game a marathon idiot grind. No human being will enjoy this drek. Every beta for 1.3 has been an EPIC FAIL. Have you laid off quality control? Having a really bad hair quarter?
Whatever build d/e is, it isn't what we were told (in fact, I can't find a difference between it and 1.2c). Some kind of mix up in getting it up on impulse, I suspect.
1.2D is lacking all of the changes that it supposedly possesses (journal page says 1.2d should be same as 1.2e)
Mainly it illustrates the AI's shocking lack of ability to build even a halfway decent army. They prefer instant gratification over long term power. They build epic quantities of crap, rather than mustering their resources to build quality, large groups of well-trained, well-equipped troops. And, while quantity has a quality all it's own, an avalanche of crap is still crap.
Abandon all hope, ye who enter here: This is absolutely absurd, developers. Absurd. What's even more absurd is that the computer is so utterly incapable of building themselves a quality army, that I OBLITERATED THESE 86!!! UNITS WITHOUT A DAMN SCRATCH. Can we please have a limit on the number of units in a battle against a city?
I'm walled off from the rest of the universe (and it's resources). Oh, and by the time I research the spells to break through the mountains, Carrodus is on the other side, blocking me from expanding.
I mean, really, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!?
Usual story, large map, no mods, no funny business, no save/reload from within game... http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21911701/Elemental%201.19M%20Error%20Rollup%2017%20Apr%2011.zip
If you capture territory or cities with the other sides mount resource already harvested, then you can get the other sides mounts.
Still here (same story, nothing special happening, no mods, no save/load hanky panky, just playing the game normally): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21911701/Elemental%201.19i%5Brc%5D%20OOM%20Error%20Rollup%2024%20Mar%2011%202202.zip
Another batch of OOM saves for your Monday morning pleasure: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21911701/Elemental%201.19G%20OOM%20Error%20Rollup%201816%2020Mar11.zip Once again, nothing special, just play the game, it just crashes, and crashes, and crashes some more.
It's worse than previous tries. Absolutely out of control, in no way, shape or form ready for release. Nearly unplayable. No, I'm not using any mods, I'm not saving, quitting and reloading, I'm doing anything weird, just playing on a large map, and watching the game crash, crash, crash. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21911701/OOM%20Error%20Rollup%20Elemental%201.19G%2018%20Mar%2011%202337.zip
I'm still getting Epic amounts of OOM errors, stay tuned for a rollup...
Why is it dieing at 1.2 GB, why can't it even make it all the way to 1.5 GB before crapping out? I hope you don't release v1.2 like this, it's utterly unplayable (to completion) on large maps, and an excruciating exercise on a medium map.
Just to make sure you have something to work on this week, a dirty dozen of OOM errors. On one (the first) was a save/load thing, the rest were just playing the game normally, no mods, no funky stuff, just play until crash, large maps. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21911701/1.19f%20OOM%20Error%20Rollup%2013%20Mar%2011%201926.zip
Yup, it's still here. All games were just straight, no mods, nothing weird. Just play game until it crashes, then restart, load last autosave, lather, rinse repeat. It's mildly better than 1.19d, but not what I would term at all acceptable. Some large maps, some medium. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21911701/6%20Mar%202011%201941%20Error%20Rollup.zip
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21911701/My%20Fruit%20and%20Bees%20are%20in%20the%20same%20damn%20spot.EleSav See the attached save, my fruit and bees are on the same tile, making one of them inaccessable (it's right by my capital city, FYI).
If you are still able to select stuff (it's not frozen), then it's likely that you have a unit on auto with pathfinding trouble. Find that unit, move it, and the turn will end.
