Quoting GaelicVigil, reply 12 I don't think that's a fair question. The "bugs and performance" will probably never be completely gone - ever. They have been addressing these issues since day 0 and will continue to address it for years to come. Are you saying that multi-player shouldn't be enabled for years? My, that's one adorable strawman! How

I say, release multi-player. In the worst case scenario, I think a buggy multi-player simply looks better than none at all since it was (falsely) advertised on the box. I don't think it's going to be that bad honestly. I would gladly take some quirky differences from single-player (like no tactical combat) as long as I can play against a competent, real human adversary.
Cephalo, would you mind posting a legend on your OP about what each color means? Or better yet, maybe can you post this in your software maybe along one of the sides.
Would it be possible for Stardock to integrate this generator into the core game system? This seems like a must-have feature. Civ 4 actually did this by taking really great mods from the community and importing them directly into the game.
A website dedicated to Elemental Mods is badly needed (yes, like tesnexus.com). I frequent the mod forum several times a day and I even feel lost. Think of how newcomers must feel trying to look for mods. However, I wonder if the in-game system will not do this for us eventually. Is there anyone who knows if the workshop will eventually allow any type of mod to be uploaded/downloaded?
This would be awesome. I wouldn't care if the dungeons weren't all that big either. Just a small maze, a few random encounters, some loot, and the quest encounter. This would be a nice change of scenery to break up the city management part of the game.
While I can see the hex grid (no more stacks of doom), new combat mechanics and the other tweaks giving some life to the Civ franchise, I still don't see the underlying experience changing at all. It's still all too familiar for me. For example, I'm pretty sure we're going to, once again, see Granaries, Phalanxes, Carriers, Artillery, Philosphy, Monarchy, Temples and all the rest of the BS that I've seen in the game for years and years. After all, you can't really change the
Money has been tight lately, as most of you can probably understand in our current economic climate. Having always been a TBS fan, I had to make a decision as to which game I would buy this fall. I've been anticipating Civilization 5 and Elemental for quite some time, but I had to go with the latter, and I still don't regret it. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting pretty tired of the Civilization series. It's starting to remind me of Madden: Release t
Mmm, Dwarves allying with Goblins... Seriously we need more races.

I think you need to play 1 game of MoM, to refresh your memory, then come back and post again. If by that you mean: Elemental has spells, heroes, city building, magical items & dungeons. Well that's not looking too deeply into things. I mean the spells are so bland, please. How epic is it that the spell of "making" is
Thanks for the updates Frogboy. I was really angry at first about the poor launch and I vented quite a bit on the forums, but with all of the updates and changes I have done a complete 180 on my attitude. You can consider me the Saul/Paul of Elemental. :) I wouldn't be surprised if there are others like me who are having a change of heart. First of all, I'm not so sure I like the idea of placing magic in as a Tech, rather than an option on character creation. I
I actually like Elemental more than Master of Magic. I know, it's heresy! But, you know, MoM didn't have customizable units, technologies, quests, marriage, real-world city building, dynasties, modding, 3D graphics, a snazzy cloth map, and multiplayer (which will come soon). Elemental has everything MoM had and much more.
Right now it is very difficult to sift through the mods, and until we get the mod sharing system in the game, is there an easier way to find stuff? I'd like to see mods sorted and rated as well as having mods searchable by author. For those of you who spend a lot of time on this forum, this is not a big deal, but newcomers will be completely lost.
You know, I'm liking Elemental more and more each day. The game reminds me of how games were released 10 - 15 years ago. They were usually very buggy, had a high learning curve and were generally very unpolished. I think the current expectation of quality for game releases has increased dramatically since then. Most games today are released by huge publishers who put an endless amounts of time into polish and tutorials rather than good, deep gameplay. Th
Well from what I am hearing, the game's stability has greatly improved with version 1.07. It's sad, but had Stardock released the game just 1 or 2 weeks later, the reviews would have been much better - I'm thinking an average of .5 to 1 percent more. The difference between a 6.5 and a 7 or 7.5 makes a huge psychological difference in the mind of prospective customers. What really got the negativity going was probably <a href="http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/08/25/elementals-di
I find myself forgiving a lot of the bugs and problems that Elemental has because, honestly, there's nothing else out there to play right now that even compares. So if I start hating on Elemental, where do I turn to get some good Fantasy TBS without going back to the 90s? I also forgive a lot of it because Elemental has quite a few novel features, namely the heavy Role-play aspects, the unique graphics, and the mod tools. A pioneer in new territory is always going to be qu
The reason, I think, is because games like Elemental only come along once in a blue moon. They are extremely rare, and the people interested in these kind of games wait years and years hopeful of the next one to come along. First-person shooters, platformers, and even real-time strategy games are a dime a dozen. Rarely does a week go by that you don't see another one of these kind of games. If one doesn't live up to expections, we only need to await a short time unti
I have to say, I like Elemental much more than I liked Galactic Civilizations 2. I love role-playing games and it feels like Elemental has taken the Turn-based strategy/RPG hybrid to a new level. I really, really like the flavor I get from Elemental in the art and especially in the characters. Just being able to take a character that I created and have him move around the world, take on quests, gain experience and buy loot is a lot of fun. Even Master of Magic didn't l

Let's be fair here. All we can do at this point is to average the reviews thus far and give it a grade. So let's see: Neoseeker: .90 1 Up: .77 (C+) Out of 8: .625 (5/8) GameEnema: .6 (6/10) Average = .72 (C -)
To be honest, I would prefer that Brad save his time and skip the tutorial and just write up a decent manual that explains everything. If a tutorial breaks into the time and effort spent on content, I'll take content any day. Tutorials are overrated anyway. I think most of us were satisfied with Master of Magic's thick manual explaining everything we didn't understand, rather than a hold-you-by-the-nose tutorial.

At the moment you can only share maps through it, I believe, as submissions have to be moderated and they're still ironing out the admin tools and guidelines for approval. There are some screenshots of the screens on IGN, they should be near the top.
Oh, wow, this is great news to me, I hope they continue to allow more types of
