A setting to tweak each AI's level of aggressiveness would be very nice. Right now, it seems that all factions are created equal and their success depends mostly on their starting position. It doesn't seem like AI difficulty actually impacts how aggressive they are, it just impacts how smart they play. Same thing goes for Monster AI, I'd like to see a game where monsters are ravaging hordes, attacking settlements and units much more often then they cu

Just watched this modding video and while Brad is going through the various map tools he mentions, "The beach tool, you need if you're going to put in any boats on your maps, because you can only get on and off boats at cliffs". (I think he meant to say beaches not cliffs at the end there). http://youtu.be/JevgMf6Kae4 This was posted on Oct 17, a few days before 1.00. Is Brad just confusing this game with WoM, or are there boats somewhere in this game?
Quoting GaelicVigil, reply 14 It pisses me off that people generate "random" maps only to reload it about 5 times to get a good starting position. Folks, it's called RANDOM for a reason! If you don't like the starting position, use a static map. Here's another piece of advice: When you get an equal amount of people complaining the game's too hard with those claiming it's too easy, you've
Thanks for posting. I agree with your view. This is one of the challenges of having a lengthy open beta. Over time, the beta testers get so used to the game that there is a tendency to slowly change the baseline of what is considered "too hard". The monsters, during the beta, were considered "too tame" so we turned them up. In v1.01, we're doing more work so that their behavior is much better controlled by the d
Did you turn off zoom limiting in advanced options? That's the only thing I can think of.
Haven't tried that, but I doubt that would have much to do with it since this isn't a "zoom" issue.
In WoM you could lower the camera practically to be parallel with the ground giving you an awesome view of forests and swamps, as well as giving you a better appreciation for the height of towers in your cities and mountain ranges. Does anyone know how to lower the camera Z-Axis in FE so we can get this effect back?
Quoting dangerlinto, reply 6Yes, this is frustrating. I love that it gives you all those calculated city details but not the name. And really as dumb as that is, it would be mitigated if it told me how much Grain, Material and Essence are in the city, but it sadly omits those too! having the original tile count on the city level screen would be a big help.
Yes, totally agree there.
I hate to break it to the TC, but one of the reasons I bought this game was because there was no ships in it. (I did my research from gameplay videos and stuff). I really hate managing all ships/water lanes/ports in a 4X game. When I found out that FE didn't have ships, I was happy to buy it. So in direct contrast to his entitlement of having bought the game because there was ships in it, I bought it because it didn't have it. Didn't bu
I'm thinking Romeo and Juliet. Parents dont like the other faction, but their heirs want to marry anyway, pushing them to a war status if the player accepts it. Actually, it would be neat to be able to voluntarily give up the throne to an heir or spouse. I could see an old, scarred up sovereign wanting to retire in peace.
Somewhat related to #1 is how annoying the popup is for city leveling. Often I don't even know what city is getting leveled because the name isn't on there and I can't move the popup or the map to see what's underneath it. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally turned a planned Fortress into a City, and vice versa because I couldn't tell what I was leveling.
I do want Dynasties, the main issue I had was being unable to marry another sovereign though, if dynasties are re-add I want to be able to marry another factions leader.
I agree, that would be a definite plus. Some of my own ideas: -Be able to marry another sovereign or sovereign's heir which could be used as a diplomatic victory. -Be able to marry another sovereign's heir AGAINST the sove
If you think about it, though, there are already a lot of useless toys in FE. Customizing your hero with clothing, faces, backgrounds, unique names. I think ships and dynasties are fun.
