Sounds great. I thought HBO did a fantastic job with Rome, so if anybody is going to d it, it should HBO. I checked out the sight for GOT--it does look amazing.

Okay, so I was debating between watching HBO's new series "Boardwalk Empire" & playing a few rounds of Elemental. I figured first one then the other. I start watching "BE" and see a trailer that says "winter's coming" and then the title "Game of Thrones" flashes across the screen. Holy crap! I guess I've been out of the loop! I purchased a Feast for Crows when it came out but have held off reading it simply because Martin always leaves me wanting more but has slowed down considerably afte
[e digicons]:D[/e] I agree--nice apology but that comment did illicit a chuckle--harsh though it was.
Well, I don't think that they are completely worthless. I find them useful when playing Empire. Ilyan Orekeepers have a ogre camp which will allow you to produce them--a nice addition to your armies. Cities also keep your territory contiguous which helps with movement/trade route, and some times they have a shard in there territory, which in most cases makes it a keeper.
Make crystal a top priority. There are alot advanced units for which crystal is a prerequisite. Find & mine asap.
One thing I loved about GalCiv was the developers notes in the instruction manual. I remember the first time I read some Sid Meier's on Civ. It impressed me that the creator would share his thoughts with other gamers this way. I also remember reading Brad Wardell's comments for Galciv. I was blown away that the games were constantly updated--AND at no charge. My loyalty was sealed at that point. When I heard Elemental was coming out I bought it on the release date without hesitation (wife wou
My question is how do you get more of it? I rarely seem to get enough to make decent use of it. I guess that's why it's rare?
Great. Now I have to play a little more.... [e digicons][/e]
My capital managed to have two gold mines Did you research additional gold mines from adventure branch? These are kind of 'must have'. My capitals usually generate far above 100g/turn. I wonder if i should actually start destroying all my cities except for those with gold mines?? Why should you? Most of buildings don't have maintenance, and ones which do are % bonuses for cities with according resource nodes. Sure you sh
Yeah, I tried that. I'm not sure what difference it makes. I only noticed one spell that took 60+ turns. I have a pretty balanced city specialization s most spells are easily attained. The numbers go up as I get around level 11 for spells.
thanks. I was just looking for a way to significantly reduce the #of turns required to attain a spell.
there are times when spells are easy to attain and other times not. For example, Pariden's Return took 67 turns to get. Level 11 spells & above appear to take 30+ turns. What is the most effective way to reduce this time? City specialization? More Lore producing buildings?
I'll give that a shot.
I got all the pieces to the forge. What brings up the palace so I can reassemble?
Borderlands is a good diversion--not so much down time; that is, until Fallout Vegas comes.
So panic is NOT a spell, correct?
Ouch. Sounds grim:/ me & my progeny---grrrreeeeaat. Live and learn! [e digicons]:(O[/e] Thanks for the tip though. It helps; i appreciate it.
I have multiple gold mines/48 gilder per turn. I am playing Empire and have access to 1 each of all shrines, scion temples, darling camps, uberroth kennel, and demon gate. The cost just to BUILD these is 1200 gilder. It doesn't make sense to build these as single units with the exception of the demon. a squad of 3 scions will run 600 gilder. idk. seems like serious bank. I am @turn 200. Sound about right? I currently have about 300 gilder. It looks like I have about 50 more turns to field a s

So then when I had no weaknesses and what I thought was a kick ass army (4 cats 3 spellcasters, 2 giants, squad of scions) the huge panic attack I experienced was due to morale? I was just facing an opponent with high intimidation? Is there any way to determine what you potentially face before battle? Sometimes I think I got it locked but then find out I'm out gunned.
Nope. Panic is what happens when your morale is too low. You need a bigger army or get natural leader trait. Using intimidating, I panic a lot of my enemies late games, never let it happen to me though. Edit: Did you take cruelty by any chance?
So how should I compensate now that I am @ turn 180? Bigger army?
=) yeah, I thought that might be the case. Thanks for the clarification. I was trying to adjust for my lack of organization. What do you recommend as a good solid beginning sov?
LOL, YES! I've been playing since the launch. I was playing tons of CivIV before the launch. I am strictly EWOM now. I will have to hold off on Civ5. There is only so much time in the week. Alas, work gets in the way. Did you ever play the X-Comm series? There was a great feature there that allowed for turn based or real time tactical combat. You could switch out whenever depending on your skill level or situation. THAT </e
Ok, I'm in to the latest version & I noticed that some of my units get panicked during a battle with what seems like a spelless outlaw. Will protect friend ward this off? I have experienced the spell cast by stronger beings and it can be a real pain. Is the outlaw casting the spell? Maybe a result of my sov's attritbutes? Combination of both? Anybody else run into this?
Sounds great. How long to get even one dragon with this new economic system???
