I noticed a jump from 11 to 18 in my sov's mana. Can I attribute this to temple of essence? Does more than one temple affect the base mana? I am playing Empire and the spirit walk is 20 mana. jeeze, I'd have to be in a REAL bind to even consider using it.

got it! thanks

50 cities?? Holy crap. I am adjusting to the new economic system. I am at turn 140 or so with 11 cities. Idk. Maybe i am used to GalCiv & Civ4. Maybe it's just me. I don't like merely eking out an empire with no reserve cash. Building shards, darling camps etc cost minimum 100 gilder. I am currently pulling 32 gilder per turn but over all progress seems slow at this point. And what about that bad sword for 2k gilder? How do you buy that now? Not that it was anything special. Maybe my expe
Hmm...I always chose a female sov, marry Janusk within 20 turns and start cranking out a dynasty. I figure the sooner the better. 200 turns? you are patient!
I didn't by GalCiv on the release date. I have been playing for a year. Great game. The updates for GC seemed smoother. Is that because I waited? I don't mind..this method is different...eye widening ...
Oh ok got it. So far so good I think
So, if I have a sovereign with an assorted army and there is no organization, how is the movement calculated? Does the army move at the slowest unit in the group?
Yeah, I realize that now. My strategy has drastically altered. No organization, no teleport, reduced gilder. I haven't delved too deeply since the updates but it looks promising. Lightening strike is already doing way more than it was before. So we'll see.
Work has kept me from the game much of the week, and there have been a few updates. Before I delve back into it tonight I'd like some advice. I used Organization in every game--even with the increased price it was worth it. Now that it is not an option, is my sovereign's army going to be lumbering around at a snail's pace? What's the best way to maximize my army's movement? For those who used Org. what are you going with now? I need to adjust my t
[quote who="me_myrmidon" reply="1" id="2776805"]in addition to removing Organized, ...Teleport is now cost 15...so unusable. This spell was crucial to allow early Sov to roam and gain adventure/combat exp. and starting Sov stack goes like 1 square like you said. then we add the inevitable (at least on hard+ difficulty) bandit group that spawns early and goes DIRECTLY for nearest city and must be defended against. The Sov cannot really move far
If I could choose between auto resolve v tactical, it would be most helpful. I am currently playing the new version and I have a sovereign with no weapon because I wanted my points for attributes not a weapon. I figure I could purchase a staff early in the beginning. Hard to do with gilder reduction. Ok, fine--I have a sand golem to assist me. Coll, right? Not so much. The problem is sometimes I go straight to auto resolution. I would never use a spell to kill wolf pups, bears, or other minor
Pacencia y Fe. Not sure why I'm complaining. Less $ for monsters? I should probably actually try the new version a few times. I've been playing the game everyday since it came out. I love it. The SD team has done a great job with it. Thank you for your commitment to the game [e digicons][/e]
I'm curious. What is the most amount of gold you been able to generate from multiple goldmines? I don't the reduced pay out so much but if they keep respawning with my area of influence--destroying structures and caravans, then it's kinda of a pain isn't it?
Oh, that's not good. I was playing earlier and I'm going against a very strong Magnar Empire. The last two huge units I killed I receive next to nothing--like killing a pioneer. I thought maybe they weren't as strong as I originally had thought. I was able to bear the slow combat speed due to the huge reward but if this is the case it sucks. Killing monsters & enemies is a major source of income. I haven't been able to generate more that 50 gilder from all my cities combined. Any idea on
Yeah, 4 movement isn't when you're playing a larger map. I guess I am used to Gal Civ & Civ 4--I miss the movement bonuses. Have you used any of the ocean spells to your advantage? I have yet to have another transport attack. Is this even possible?
Do recruited heroes have to actually be in a city to reap the benefits?
geeze! these things are PAINFULLY slow:/
That sounds pretty freaking cool. Can you break down how you did that?
Yeah I was doing that until I was playing Empire and didn't have access to crystals or elementium.
How does deflect benefit? I've had available but haven't really used it.

I'd be curious to what combinations of spells people are using. I find that I have alot of spells but rarely have use/mana for them. I tend to use fireball, freeze enemy, titan's breathe & blizzard the most. Does anybody have a good system for use of strategic spells? If I have 2-3 catapults, I tend to have less need for spells in the tactical. I'm just looking for more effective combos.
I used to play alot of X-Com. My fav was Apocalypse. When it came down to tactical battle there was a choice between real time and turn based. You could adjust whenever. Usually if I'm out gunned, t/b gives me an edge. Anyway, it was an awesome option. I get frustrated with the tactical because of the time involved. I would use the quick resolution more often but there are times when the AI uses my mana unnecessarily. I generally save that for the more crucual battles. Any chance Elemental wi
I like it. I was using either Roman numerals or Greek letters.
