Heavenfalls' advice is very good, but it does not tell you what to do about the dragon/shrill lord/drake that stomps your city on turn 50-100. In my opinion, this happens at this point of the Beta because of bugs in the monster A.I. The developers are working on it, but right now, as a player, there is not much you can do if you have the bad luck to attract the wrong kind of attention early on. "Not much" is not the same as "nothing". I have posted qui

My gut actually agrees with you. But even if it were to be increased, that still would not mean that we have to make the AI

More sliders are good. I like fast games where troops matter: i.e. Fast building, Fast training, fast mining, slow research, slow xpt gain. A slider for hero xpt / unit xpt ratio would be good too. (It's currently at 2:1, beats me why)
Consequently, Crystal cost in Gildar should be reduced in diplomacy to prevent disbalance.
Dafuq. Crystal is hard to mine, requires infrastructure investment and is indispensable for advanced troop production. [e digicons][/e] Ergo, we need to make the AI value it less?! Nonsense. Metal is a resource for war. I can crack up taxes for one season, and pocket 200 Gildar. But when I need metal to build one of my heavy cavalries, there's no easy way to pull what I need out of my ass. Not unless you make metal really cheap in diplomacy. And by the way, you cannot get 6 Gildar for metal unless the AI has ran out. Talk to an AI with 300 loads of metal in its stores, and it will offer you a grand total of 0. I'd say that it's on

Descent into Madness There was something strange about the way Karavox was conducting the war in the East. The Krax had handily won every battle. Three regiments of elusive lancers were ranging around Imperium and Stable, stomping Quendar and Amarians into the ground. But instead of conquering the enemy cities, and bringing the war to an end, Karavox contented himself with slowly converting enemy outposts to his cause. <br

This is not a problem of balance, but a bug. The monster/AI interaction is completely broken, and it is only recently the developers have began to admit it to themselves. What you are experiencing is this: You cannot expand because monsters destroy you if you disturb them. AIs expand without regard for monsters. If the monster is disturbed it either does nothing, letting the AIs grow too strong, or goes after the player. <

No, I have not seen alphas that put this to shame. As for faction points, you start with two, and to get more, you have to pick weaknesses. Given that this is a mechanic that's been around since the 80's, and you could not figure it out, maybe you have not seen that many alphas that are better than Fallen Enchantress, either...

No, they do not have to have researched it. Or at least, YOU can make an alliance with someone who has researched it without having researched it yourself. But they have to like you well enough, and maybe feel a bit intimidated. I remember that a few versions back I could not make an alliance with the strongest AI until I got to be quite a bit tougher than them. That may have changed, because I have made alliances with stronger AIs, lately.

KingHobbit, the OP is talking about a different issue. By stacking he means that a stack of four heroes has four tireless marches (one per hero) for a effective speed of 8 moves per turn. I have not seen an enemy sovereign with multiple tireless marches since .913.

If they release it with the monster AI as it is, they will have some TERRIBLE reviews on their hands. Not all terrible, mind you. There's great fun to be had with FE as it is now. But there will be the few reviewers who will see the AI peacefully coexisting with Slags and Drakes, and then have a cherished city razed by some AI-released beast they have no prayer of handling. I have to say too things: 1. Fallen Enchantress is definitely ready for release as the

It seems that every time you conclude a treaty or make a trade, the other sovereign is so overcome by your glorious presence that they need a few years to recover. ... A developer must have put it in there as a temporary measure to prevent some abuse, and no one bothered cleaning it up.

The war on the Eastern Continent Karavox took the aggression in stride. If he was surprised to find his lands targeted by both a Kingdom and an Empire, he certainly did not show it. His quick and composed response made his subjects confident in the final victory. His first action was to call the Yithril ambassador, and trade 50 loads of iron. With the Gildar from the sale, he set up a com

The Autumn of 184 A.C. was a time of prosperity and optimism. The Kraxis Empire had finished settling the recently liberated wildlands around Curgen's Tomb and Bhinadmi Fissure. The four new cities were growing along nicely, and were becoming self-supporting. Technology treaties had been established with every known power, exotic goods were available all across the Empire, and tales of Karavor, Naressa and Nochd's adventures made the citizenry feel secure.
