Not sure. I think I ended up buying like 5 copies of Civ IV over the years.
Why would you buy the same computer game 5 times? Make no sense unless it was formultiplayer. Twice maybe, but 5 times??? Would you lose your head if it wasn't screwed on? ;)

Just wondering, when we heard last week that there would be no beta in that week I had assumed that meant it would be out this week. Is that no longer the case? I have just watched the video and it makes me want to play the game, but I don't want to play 0.86 any more. So, when is the follow on from 0.86 likely to be made available?

Nice post. I agree that the small vocal group were listened to too much and that ruined WoM. I hope this time the development team stick to their guns and creates their vision of what FE is supposed to be.

Oh the sarcasm. ouch!!! It is more like building a large house and deciding to not bother with the folly in the garden. Would be cool to have but probably no one will miss it.

@ddd888 i don't think you quite get it. If you have fixed resources that you can use to accomplish something then it has to be achieved within those bounds. There are heaps of things I would like to do in my own business but staffing and financial boundaries mean we have to decide what to do and what to leave out. For FE leaving out MP makes sense. It does not give enough bang for your buck. But whatever rocks your boat. You carry on with your straw man arguments. ;)
because single player is too easy for smart expert players? there is no challenge after a bit, ai can be competitive only cheating, we all know it so single players become boring after a bit, only mp keep the interest high cause its the only place where there is real challenge i do understand many ppl are not interested in challenges, nothing wrong with it but you have t

These MP threads seem to pop up every once in a while. MP is not high on most people's priority list. With the limited resources that developers have I think most people would agree that it is in everyone interest that the SP game is kick arse. I find it suspect when people state, "I was really happy about this game, but no MP so I now no longer care." What is up with that? If it is a great game why wouldn't you play it MP or not? If the SP game does well then we w

Love logging into the forum to find an update. Must be my compulsive addictive personality ;) I love the sound of the diplomacy, especially the broken spirit concept. The heroes with personality sounds great too. Can't wait to receive next update.... Now a weather bomb is due to hit us tomorrow great excuse to sit indoors and play FE.

Glad to hear it frogboy. For me this game is already a success. I checked steam and found I have only played Civ 5 for 14 hours before I got bored. In comparison, I think I have put hundreds of hours into WOM and FE. The recent 0.86 has definitely got a one more turn feeling. I am checking out these forums on a regular basis for any signs of he next patch. It is very exciting to be this close and involved in a game genre that I love playing. Thanks for the openness&n

When you win the game you receive an overview of how the game went. History, strength, mana etc etc It would be nice to see this screen if you select retire also. Then you can see how poorly you did vs computer players and get some sense of where you dropped the ball.

I would like to see outpost upgrades. e.g., small garrison, strong garrison, defensive gargoyles (or whatever). You could even add a wizards tower for that lone wizard working on new spells (research bonus ?) It has to be simple and not get too involved but I would certainly like the outpost to have some chance of resisting foreign invasion.

Yes I have very regular CTD. Can happen at any time. Did not have any with 0.77. I will lok into sending in crash reports, I have not that done that in the past.

@blackrainz up until recently I never saw any actual caravans. Now they are appearing as "units" down the left side of the screen. Here is a screenshot BTW the hero for hire near the bottom of the picture cost some astronomical amount of money - I am talking in the millions of gold. :) </p

I have just successfully completed my first game of 0.86. I scored 3325 points. I have had quite a few CTD with both 0.85 and 0.86 something that I did not have a problem with in v 0.77. These would occur at random moments. However, this is now an enjoyable game. I felt I had to really work it, even towards the end.I had to balance my armies and heroes ensure that they were moving with purpose in order to prevent my enemies swamping me with horde

I have had a look through the forums but I haven't seen one positive post about 0.85. (at least in the titles). While the posts that I have seen about 0.85 offer much criticism (constructive and otherwise) I am surprised that no one has come out to say that the game is now fun and challenging. Can I then be the first to say that 0.85 is a significant leap forward. I had fun and I got my arse handed to me by the AI. I played 4 hours straight la

Wouldn't be easier to have a situation where you can spend more/or less gold on research? It could have a minimum and maximum multiplier on research. The amount of gold to get to that multiplier could increase as you become a more advanced civilization.
