I really hope the citizen animations make a return in FE. Its a minor thing but I always enjoyed seeing it in EWOM.
after the continued support on this game & the hiring & full focuse on E:FE, I can only wonder what's instore for the 2nd 'Expansion', You have my oath that if you put in a multi-body type race generator I'll buy at least 5 additional copies for family & friends (Ofcourse I'm getting my copy for free). Just think of the replayability if people could 'create' there ow
Looking forward to FE.......BUT please for the love of god give the different races some flavor. My single biggest complaint with EWOM; besides turn 200 crashing every game, is that the races are boring as hell. Seriously...differentiate them based on animations and traits. Not sure why you guys are hell bent on making them all human-esque but it isn't working. It's been brought up numerous times now and a fairly common complaint. Obviously if your fans hate it theres changes to be ma
Agreed...I think the individual races and units are boring. I can deal with the races for now, but I'd love to see more unit customization. EWOM could really stand out in that department if there was more to pick from. I think they have a good start but really needs expanding. I LOVE armor and stats and I'd like to see more variety and visual appeal. We should need to make a tough choice over what armor and weapons to equip units with. Pros/cons for each.
Noticed the same glowy spots.
If you used a cleaner to remove all the video card files you need to boot the system in safe mode to install the new drivers. I learned this when I wiped my Nvidia drivers.
Very nice site!
I personally like the game. Has some issues, but they'll be fixed soon enough.
I gave up on trying to download the client. This is the exact same garbage Square pulled with FF11 patching. It took nearly 10 hours to patch the launch day client. I see they have learned nothing. They should've just paid to have the file up on fileplanet. The problem with the UI in FF11 was it was built for the PS2 not the PC. I remember it took alot of getting used to cuz you had to hold CTRL down to navigate.
I was over at ign.com reading some previews and I could have sworn I heard someone say chainmail bikinis? /signed. - I agree though; more unique armour animations please.
Come on, this game is at least 6.0-6.5 review worthy. Honestly it would probably be getting 7.0 if it ran smoother. Just proves my point to never base a purchase on a review.
Ah I see. I just checked unit designer and they are there. Kinda wish I could have a pack of wargs as units though =( Thanks!
So I unlocked the ability to build on a warg camp and recruit them. I double checked that the tile was linked to my main city. My question would be how do you actually train a warg and use them for battle? I checked the train unit screen and they don't show up like the darklings do. Are they simply just a mount with unlimited availability? I also checked my demon's gate and the demons showed up on train unit screen right away too.
Definitely much smoother experience playing. Stayed around 25-30fps all the way through turn 400 and no signs of any slowdown yet. And my point about running a game over 60fps is that you will simply have a smoother game experience. Less stutter etc, regardless if the monitor is only showing 60fps.
I've been hit with spells since 1.00 as well.
Brad, Please never lose your passion and love for the games you make. You've recognized what went wrong here, but don't let that destroy your subjective relationship to said games. It can't all be about management. Hitting the right balance in life is hard for everyone. I am probably more excited about Elemental's future now than I was a year ago. Have a nice time with your family and take care.
Framerate over your monitor's refresh rate is 100% useless.
I wouldn't say that it is useless. I run many games at 100fps with a monitor at 65 refresh rate. There is a significant performance difference between that and if I were to lock the fps. So I guess I don't follow your logic. Its only useless if you have a garbage monitor and get a ton of tearing. If not higher fps may not be displayed, but game ov
Running fraps....is game locked at 65fps? I'm stuck at that on menu's. Usually in the 300's on menus. Notice theres no option to unlock frame rate now either.
Seeing about 7-10fps difference on main map. Frame rates definitely staying more stable instead of bouncing from 20 to 5 all time. Tact battles still suffer poor fps unless zoomed all the way in. That gives me about 30fps whereas zoomed out is more like 13fps. Overall game running a bit smoother. Still hoping for the magic patch that will get me to 60fps. Updated Forgot to mention that was from a 400 turn save file, started over and running about 40fps with some minor city imp
Thanks for the posts Frogboy. Its obvious you really love this game and I can only imagine the care you will give it over the next several months.
Core gameplay is good coming from a 4x newbie. Game mixes alot of different game elements to make it very appealing. Unique art style. Nothing quite like it on the market.
Quoting Gatt9, reply 23 It's a symptom of how unhealthy the game market is. I have to agree with this; the PC game market is in the worst shape I have seen it in for as long as there
I really like the tech trees. Especially that it is somewhat randomized.
I just purchased GalCiv2...which is almost as addictive as Elemental. Almost. I also have been playing the demo of Sins for Solar Empire, and recently downloaded Mount & Blade demo. Really like the combat, but game feels very amatuer otherwise. I also bought HOMM5 a few weeks back and have been dabbling with that...gets boring after awhile. And HOW did they not get sued by GamesWorkshop? The Blood Maidens look identical to the Witch Elves, lol. I had to buy it though, brings back nostalgi
I personally like having trees around my cities, makes it look more realistic. Also makes deciding where to build important.
I think people need to learn to research before purchasing a videogame. I learned this 15 years ago. Nothing is as advertised at launch unless your Blizzard. (lets not forget how bad WoW was at launch though.) It amazes me how many people blind buy games without even checking out the website, previews, forums, or early impressions. Then cry foul because its not what they expected. Doing these simple things will save you alot of grief and alot of money.
