-I thought the Sov generally leads a stack always, but in a city I'm seeing a different result.
That's because noone leads a stack in a city. Inside a city, the bunch of units are not considered an army, just a bunch of units. Whoever enters the city last will be added to the end of the list. Outside, units given the same destination square will merge into an army and one will become a leader(i believe it is the sovereign, then the highest level hero, then the unit with

Caravans provide a % bonus to food production to both cities the caravan connects. The longer the route, the bigger the bonus. And each city can only produce one caravan unless you research the 'more caravans' tech in the empire 'cooperation' tree.
When creating your character can you pick the skin color of the character?
When creating the sovereign, yes, it is possble to change the skin color
One question, I am confused about the use or application of the ability bonus that is selectable after a battle. Where can I find out about this?
Do you mean the point(s) you can distribute between stats when a champion levels up? If so: - strength increases his atta

I have to agree with the review, but not with the score. Everything he wrote is true, yet despite of that the game kept me playing it for hours again and again. That's just not a quality you can rate with a 4/10. The game is more than the sum of it's parts(or in this case, it's bugs).
That mechanic makes mass imbue strategies incredibly powerful.
Free tip: you don't even need to imbue. All you need is one ring of essence - give it to any champion, kill two wolves, on level-up put points into essence, give ring to another champion, repeat as necessary :p
Stardock, are you going to implement anything like the above, or should we just forget about it? I dont mean this in a rude way, I mean it as far as licensing goes and all that.
You know, i was thinking about this the other day. If stardock simply copied all of the spells from the MoM spellbook, they could be sued low and high. However, what if a player made a mod that implemented the MoM spellbook into Elemental after the game was released? Technically, stardoc

Attacker rolls a number between 0 and their attack rating. Defender rolls a number between 0 and their defense rating. Damage done is attacker's number minus defender's number. If the result is less than 1, the game considers it a miss. So, if the attacker with attack rating of 24 rolls a 3, and the defender with defend rating of 5 rolls a 4, the attack misses. At least that's what i figured out till now.
I begin to think Imbue Champion might be worth it just for the extra Enchant slots on the champions.
Oh, it is VERY worth it, and not just because of the imbue slots. You see, one thing that is not readily apparent is that once you imbue a champion, anytime he levels up he can put points into essence. Do this at the very beginning of the game, and mid-game you have several very powerful casters. Also, these imbued champions after just one level ar

Make sure you set the 'autosave delay' in the options to zero. Makes out of memory errors less painful, as you lose next to no progress by starting the game again and reloading the autosave(it autosaves every turn) Also, someone reported that turning off 'use localised data' in the options got rid of the out-of-mem errors for them. Cant confirm tho(i dont get that error here) As for why stardock didn't wait - they had shelf space reserved for august. If they didnt get it out b

There is a spell that allows you to enchant any city to produce 1 food. Any bonuses then apply to it. Can make a difference in the early game. Also, be aware that some buildings other than housing consume food, marketplace for instance, so only build marketplaces in cities that have a gold mine to save food.

My tip is to set the game's pacing to 'epic'. It causes all technologies to be roughly 3 times as expensive to research. Makes it so your new shiny unit doesn't become obsolete three turns before it comes off the production line :p

You need to differentiate between real champions and champion-like monsters. If it says "Adventurer" in the description it is a champion for hire. If it says "Creature - adventurer", it is a monster for killing. So if he attacked you, it was the 'creature' one. You can tell by placing cursor over him - you can only hire those that show a speech bubble. If you cannot hire any in your game means you are only running into monster-ones, keep looking for the real ones.
As far as the summons go, the Air & water ones are rubbish compared to the fire/earth imho, for example the Ice giant is a level 5 summons with approx the same stats as the fire/earth but has no spells, he does re-gen mana though.
Approx the same stats? Man, check again! The fire/earth golems have 17 attack, the ice lord 61! :p
A spy can cast twice a spell that talkes away10HP from all enemies, put ten o them together and you have an army that when attacking destroys 200HP from each enemy on the battlefield in the very first turn. They are cheap and quite easy to get.
The damage is not a problem, but the early availability is. Later in the game units tend to have hitpoints so high that even 200 damage doesn't dent them, and then the army of spies dies to the counterattack. For instance, in my
Something I wanted to add in regards to the question "Why is it sometimes I cannot talk to other champions to hire them?". It may be obvious to some, but you need to have your Sovereign as your currently selected unit. If you had clicked on something else and try to click on the champion the talk option won't be available. If you click on the Sovereign and then the champion, you can then talk to the champion.
Hmm, i definitely can hire champions using other units tha
Hey I downloaded some mod maps but the game will not let me load them..... what gives?
Never tried that myself yet, however i did notice there is an "use mods" checkbox in the options menu. Do you have it enabled?
Is there any difference other than visual between the races? Same config here, i do not get out of mem errors unless playing for a very long time. However i also have elemental installed on another computer and there it out-of-mem's significantly more often. That other computer has an older video card tho (with an appropriately old driver) and only 2 gigs of ram. Not sure what exactly is the cause. It might be worthwhile to upgrade the graphic card driver to the latest if you didn't already.

There's a lot if item stats that just don't make sense. Magical cloak you get with deep magical research giving 2 def and nothing else(same as the basic soldier's cloak), fabled magical suit of armor you get from a tough dungeon fight has 12 armor and nothing else(you can buy the same in a store) etc. etc. I guess it falls into the "it's easy to change, so we'll leave it up for later" category. They will fix/balance it eventually.
This is not a troll. I've asked for a refund for the game. The game, to me, is unplayable and completely unenjoyable. I do not have a weak system, most games maxed out hardly tax my rig at all. This game brought my rig to a crawl. I didn't buy this game to play it like a board game, zoomed out Stratego style. I don't like FPS so low that animations look like slide shows, if they even occur at all. Constant crashes from memory leaks, regardless of whether they happen early or lat
I'm trying to figure out what was in the 1.06 hotfix patch compared to the normal 1.06 that i have.
The normal 1.06 allowed 1.05 savegames to be loaded which caused all sorts of problems. The hotfix prevents that, you can no longer load old savegames after patching to hotfixed 1.06.
A tech tree based on random breakthroughs discourages the player from making new strategies.
That just didn't make sense. If your strategy relies on having technology X, and you don't get it, it doesn't discourage you from making a new strategy, it forces you to make one!
