Boar spears rule all at start. Seriously, they are usually the line between a tough start and an easy one for me. Since we're talking factions here, I'm just going to splurge some requests: FACTION COLORING WINDOW There's primary clothing color, secondary clothing, metal color, map color, roof color.....but then there's these primary and secondary color options as well. What do those do? Can we get some better names for those, or some descriptive

Lol. I think there's some bug with regards to weapon handling. At least, once I had equipped a double handed weapon on a hero, I COULD NOT get them to equip a shield and a single handed weapon. They would wield the shield alone, or their default starting weapon, that's it. Equipping a single handed weapon, or another 2 hander, resulted in the icon getting lit but the character not equipping it. If I'm having that much trouble, lord only knows what the AI is dealing with.
5. The game needs a tech tree, so you can see what to research to get what you want/need!
You can click on each entry in the Research screen and it will tell you what it is, what it needs and what it leads to. You can read all the way up the tech tree doing this.
We have games that are lasting literally thousands of turns without crashes.
Well then I can see why you're asking us if we're crashing....but on my end I can tell you that's most

Mostly in agreement. I like that you have to specialize heroes to be casters, you can just have everyone imbued and have them casting. But the point balances are off in many places. I also think sovs should require int to cast, but just require a lot less of it than everyone else. Int becomes a dead state for them once they hit 20ish.
The current 4 starting books IMO are better than the elemental books thus far.
Agreed. I think some spells are still goin

I got to say, I'm surprised you guys have had no crashes internally in this build. This is one of the more stable builds, but no build has ever been crash free for me, ever. And I found Elemental *relatively* stable at release. If you're willing to answer, how long do you honestly give each build in terms of just straight play testing? Because I guarantee you will hit a crash if you test for a solid 2 hours. Hit end turn then screen grab while it's processing stuff and chunking along, you can

The AI isn't building "armies" of pioneers, so technically the patch addressed that. However, the AI is still sending out streams of pioneers that promptly walk to the edge of your realm and then stand there. Add to that, I've noticed a couple AI heroes and armies that literally have not moved for 40 years.

Plenty of crashes. Most seem to happen when end of turn/start of turn is processing and I try to do stuff like move the screen, zoom the map or select units. It doesn't happen all the time...but I've had it happen as quickly as 5 minutes in, or as last as 2 hours. Also, despite the stated fixes for Empire Adventuring tech (I think that was prior to 1.09s?), they still don't work. At least not with a game started in 1.09s. Starting with adventuring techs get you to level 2, you can go

Overall this build feels like it runs less smoothly than 1.09s. Load times seem to be longer, the choke ups changing LODs seem to be longer...yeah. It's anecdotal but that's how it feels.

I need to start playing smaller games of Elemental. I can't "finish" one in the time frame that each patch is coming out :P

There are quite a few monsters at the start of the game. You have to tread carefully, and get some basic troops (boar spears) out as fast as syou can. Naked troops with just boar spears can deal with most early game monsters. I've found things are A LOT harder if you try to use troops with anything weaker. Peasants simply do not cut it at all, except against tiny spiders.

You guys must not be listening to the same game I am. Granted, there are a few main themes that play, but I hear different ones all the time. I swear I hear new ones going in every once in a while. I think the problem is either sometimes tracks get stuck and/or there aren't enough triggers for mood changes. I really like the music in Elemental, actually. It's good background music.

Well this would explain why my cash flow kept dipping....so you're saying houses that are upgraded from hovels to shanties (or w/e) are basically dead for taxation purposes? This would bear out, because my economy started to crash right when my main city started upgrading. It was low until I researched Slums and demolished all the shanties, replacing them with slums. So maybe a work around is just to methodically demolish all upgraded shanties and replace them with rebuilt ones. Citie

I'd prefer to see it even just as a way to differentiate factions. Some cultures like the dude to live with the family. Some like to get their daughters the hell out of the house. Some factions could just prefer marriages where they gain people rather than when they have to give them away, or vicea versa.

For me at least. Been following Elemental since long before the beta started. Had a lot of hopes and wishes for the game, done a lot of belly aching and criticizing Stardock, right here. And you know what? I'm somewhere in the middle of a good 2 day bender with the game. It's finally become fun for me! Don't get me wrong: It's still buggy. It still

I couldn't figure out why I went from a food surplus one turn, to a -8 food in one swoop. Then I realized it was the ZoC of a city extending over a minor faction, and me suddenly getting stuck with an extra 40 pop I didn't plan on. The game promptly crashed right after that.

It was not the art style I was expecting. I see some anime influence in there. That said, it's pretty, colorful and well constructed, and I do enjoy looking them over.

My internet just went down a little while ago and I tried to fire up Elemental....and it won't let me play if my internet is not active. Is there something I need to do first on Impulse so that I can play offline? I suppose I could go crack a product I own so that I could, but I'd rather not have to resort to that.
Because believe me: equipping a champion with a full plate *will* make gildars an issue.
Ninja'd. Gildar stockpiles seem all well and good, but buying top tier equipment for all you characters, that can and will clean out your coffers. Half the time I don't even equip champions because it's too expensive to do at the moment. Maybe it was just the map I was playing, but there 14 food spawns within a 30 tile radius of my starting city. Now, that may seem lik
I'd like to see intelligence effect the number of spells you can cast per tactical turn. If channeled spells are implemented, intelligence should effect how quickly a spell can be channeled.
This is pretty important I think. Perhaps intelligence defines the per spell action cost. Because when you find that one good spell, Sovereigns become artillery. With Arcane Arrow and 27 intelligence, my sovereign can two shot stuff with

This may be the smoothest release yet. 2 hours, and while it's not been totally bug free, no crashes that I can't avoid, the monsters aren't too insane, and all the questing stuff seems mostly sorted out.

I knew I'd been hacked because contacts began sending me emails saying "WTF is this?" The emails had the flavor of a bot network. How it happened, either through my system or through Live, I couldn't find out.

It feels like research is balanced toward the mid-late game instead of early on. It feels wonky, to me at least, because I get brought up short by bugs and other stuff when I only have two cities, and that's the farthest I make it in most of these beta builds. When you have 4 cities and one is completely specialized to research, with a couple nodes to help it out, I'm pretty sure it balances out to normalcy. In the beginning though research is tediously slow.
