TBS games attract a small, largely adult following. That doesn't mean it lacks any people who regard others as objects, but the younger folk tend to go where the action and arcade are.

I've asked repeatedly about this, without any response from the development team. I guess they don't want us to know, which seems silly as it wouldn't make the game any easier to understand exactly what makes a faction rating higher, or lower. All we know is: world achievements may help out. Having more military, and earlier, definitely seems to help out. More cities, and more heroes, helps. Research and popuiation appear to help.&nbs

All of the rest were design decisions not include in the game on purpose.
Some people mean well, but I don't think they realize just how large the beta was, or how much feedback was given, or how much Brad and Derek spoke to various points. If we're going to get flavor messages, they shouldn't feel ersatz. They should be more personalized according to the personality of the speaker, and they should have some genuine in-game effect:raising your relationship with the speaker, for example, and letting you *see* that. Cardboard flavor never tastes great.
I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. If diplomacy ever gets improved and strengthened, balance issues dealt with, city growth possibilities made more distinctly, evenly good across the board, it might reach 8.5. Could even hit 9, depending on what they add. Time's early yet for this game. It's good, but it's far from great in my opinion, with plenty of room for improvement.
If they had only spent a bit more time to fix it. Fun game with frustrating bugs. And in the last few weeks, he's started posting his own personal beta patches, with only part of the patch material in them, for comment. Plenty of time going into fixing it. Though if you meant, before the game w

This occurred to me, too, a month or so ago. The problem is that the random events screens can show up and vanish in just a few seconds, leaving you wondering what the hell just happened. That particular one is pretty damn nasty, because the spiders proliferate like mad. Depending on what sovereign you're playing and how you play, it can be Game Over. I'd suggest loading a save from before that point.

A tree is a real thing, I can at least see, touch, experience a tree and others can verify the tree exist. A tree can be very old, some can be ancient. Doesn't something alive and ancient deserve some respect and have some magnificence? And a tree gives the breath of life, many religions say such a thing came from God, but I know a t
"AI being worked on" can mean many things: combat AI, city-building AI, the AI's choice of spells, the AI's scouts, etc. But of course, I hope you are correct.
Came from that X-Play award last night, where the first comment out of Morgan Webb's mouth was that the FGC was a cesspool of misogyny- which was out of nowhere. Some truth to it, but she wouldn't dare say that about one of the games that pays her bills. I just think the FGC gets picked on and used as an example, when there are others who are at least as bad if not worse.
Then consider articulating how you play, and how you win. Write it down--that will help let you refine it, and make it easier for her to refer to. But I don't really see how this has much to do with discrimination against women in gaming and game development. No offense meant.

(serious question -- I guess I need to go look...)
The OP means the bar that says Turn on the bottom right of the screen. It's highlighted in green when you've made all your possible moves for the current turn. But it won't highlight if you have cities that lack training or building. I suspect that's what he means.
You should have plenty of RAM, then. There have been some memory leak issues to the game, but I'd thought they were all worked out. Myself, I can't help you: I'm current using a 32-bit WinXP OS. (I know, I know. Financial issues. I hope to get a new computer mid-next year with 64-bit Win7, but we'll see.) So the advice I give really wouldn't be suitable to your setup, except in the most general sense. i suggest postin
You haven't told us anything about your OS or RAM. Providing that sort of background information makes it much easier to help out, you know. At a guess, if this is RAM-related, try rebooting to free up more memory. Close down any browsers, contact managers, etc, that you can. Then try running the game and reloading.
Diplomacy's a mess, and this has been noted in numerous threads. The options are very limited, and the current AI involving them is buggy on a number of fronts that have been discussed here over and over. On the one hand, Stardock hasn't shown any evidence of real concern at this point over diplomacy, but on the other, it would be difficult for a company that produced the far better diplomacy of GC2 to be unaware of how it's current state, and how it reflects upon them
The choice of words, "mages," is not the best. It's too easily confused with the Path of the Mage, and the champions and sovereigns who can be mages, with a full selection of spells. Sorcerers might do, but they've also co-opted that one. "Wand user" sounds like somebody under stress who can't get a date. Perhaps Caster? Or Bow Mage?
I'm still getting the problem.
