did you hear about an intel flaw that'll supposedly make all intel cpu from the last 10 years or so 5-30% slower when fixed in os XD (well.. ok.. more like the fix will slow down the os) https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/02/intel_cpu_design_flaw/ https://hothardware.com/news/intel-cpu-bug-kernel-memory-isolation-linux-windows-macos heck.. i had to flash my bios last month to get the ime fix.. though i suppose you could call that an upside because i hadn't flashed t

whereas i've been wondering why ssd/hdd cables (power and sata) are so weirdly spaced. or at least i did every time i add a new drive or move them to a new machine, etc. absolutely no idea how to make the wires reach the ssd holder thing on the back of the mb plate as well as all the other drives. so i gave up and just stack them all in the drive cage rack thingy a couple of years back when i got the current one.

i believe for chrome at least there are some anti-anti-adblocker extensions. ubo has some list that work with those things. no idea how well they work as i can't be bothered to install yet another thing.
Here: (Admiral and Capt. Lorca having a holographic chat on board)
it wasn't a holo meeting. they met face to face somewhere off the ship. the only question is why he had to take the shuttle to wherever that was instead of taking discovery there directly and beamed aboard. or why that shuttle journey was long enough for him to be ambushed.

it just means no one has said anything about other security suite being exploited for similar effect. yet. as for israel, they were hacking kaspersky and found someone else doing the same thing. bet they are real happy someone decided to tell the whole world about it, quite simply because kaspersky was founded by a russian. did us gov ban symantec over cert failures? nevermind the big contract just given out to equifax despite security failings.

win 10 won't be a monthly subscription... for home users.. but it'll suck if you are on seriously low end hardware as they'll probably not be supported at some point. (like some right now) https://arstechnica.co.uk/information-technology/2017/07/windows-10-support-device-lifetime/ http://wccftech.com/microsoft-ends-windows-10-support-intel/ shouldn't think it'll affect mainstream desktop users any time soon

is ryzen really horrible or is it just a shade off the pace? everything i read points to the latter. and does brad actually game (any game) at 4k with that 4k screen? i have a 4k screen (39~40".. but i sit a meter away XD and it's only va) but don't actually game at 4k, not least because everything will normally be too small and i don't really want to stress the 970... though i suppose i could try setting it to 4k but turn most of the effects stuff off for less stress?

how big is that 4k though... and... you sure it's not a typo and you meant to type 8k instead? XD can't imagine a 8k desktop on a tiny 32" text must be tiny...
The transport is no longer consumed. That means, in theory, a single transport could conquer an entire civilization. This vastly reduces the late-game grind of conquering (and to be honest, we should have thought of this 10 years ago).
or just get rid of transport altogether. forgot which game it was from (stellaris?), but basically troops are its own organic transport.. on planet they are troops, once in orbit they are transport ships.
I just purchased a new retail copy of Windows 8.1 last week for a brand new computer. Don't regret it even slightly!
brand new as in couple of year old hardware (pre-skylake) or brand new brand new? because.. you might have heard that ms has stopped providing any sort of patches for win 7 and 8.1 for anything newer than skylake... as well as some skylake machines https://arstechnica.co.uk/information-techno
Does the new Edge (or any other browser) automatically update all your bookmarks and settings between computers? If I log into Chrome with my GMail account, on any PC, Chrome updates all my bookmarks and settings on that PC based on the last PC I signed in on. I have never seen another browser that does that. Cellphone, laptop, tablet, desktop, it does not matter, they get updated. Really nice! [e digicons][/e] [/quote
