this would definitely kill off possibilities of multiplayer, won't it. (not that i play multiplayer) as it would be a bad idea to mix 32bit and 64bit players, were it to be possible in the 1st place. and splitting would definitely have even less players who will do multi.

you know.. you can get retail versions of this for silly prices... amazon has some for like £4 (not counting another couple of pounds postage)
you mean the company that might be going around ddosing p2p users? http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/05/13/pirate_pay_dos_against_torrents/
+ Unit Traits, allows for unit specialization - Zero Unit customization
a bit contradictory. when you lvl up units and pick traits (or pay for equipment type traits) you don't have to do it all 1 way.. for the same type of units. there's customisation. might not be as detailed or varied as picking an armband over a pair of gloves (or whatever).. but it's there in some form. well.. ok.. you don't get to pick different
well.. seriously don't see the big deal regarding wmp... don't people just use vlc? (well... vlc 1.1.9 anyway... vlc 2 dies on me for whatever reason.. haven't tried newer versions of that) it's free (eh.. don't know about businesses but what do i care about them?) heck.. i only use wmp when listening to online radios from a different country. which is rather infrequent.
well.. just wait for the 1st elevator that loses its cable. happens frequent enough in real life mundane ones...
what makes you think you can get someone to live on a ship for 40 years without having them kill themselves off? and if you can do that, then there's no reason why it won't be one of them generation ship thing, where generations live and die on the ship for no purpose other than some descendant get to the other side. even if you can get a drive built tomorrow, it'll just be a lump of junk fit for nothing more than a robot probe.
how does that work for custom factions? kingdom/empire is a easy distinction... or does each hero refuse to work for certain races?
heh.. i think the price in amazon went up after x'mas... was £7.99 now £9.99 or some such the last time i looked
vanilla works just fine. no idea if the game is 64 bit or not or if it uses more than 3 gig ram or whatever it is. someone else can tell you that
i read the article text... not sure why they refer to sniper, heavy, assault... just names.. or are troops categorised as such?
um... but since it ground to a halt when accessing folders when booted from livecd, won't it ground to a halt if i stick it on my machine too? i don't know what it has, so don't want it anywhere my machine XD
there's this xp box of my relative that has sort of died. basically it had some sort of infection and when winxp booted up it just slow to a crawl. when booting up a livecd antivirus, it mentioned some sort of hdd issue, nonetheless it looked cleaned. however, it was still crawling speed, for example when attempting to access files in the hdd from a livecd. apparently i screwed up some bootup files or some such after a few hard reset too many
what... you get to pull out/plug in a cartridge like thing that is.. eh.. the motherboard? another cartridge for cpu? makes more sense to just sell another console edition every few years.
surely it's more than achievement? steamworks does match making and all that (in general), doesn't it? (not necessarily good.. or used for a particular game.. but hey...)
i would have thought the whole point of console is that there isn't a ton of different hardware. ie. .1 environment to make developing things easy. allowing upgrades... that can't work. certainly not the way people change mb/cpu/etc...
you know what's weird? even thought impulse has nothing to do with sd anymore.. the cookies in the website are still named stardock this that or other.....
IMO, the OS vendor should be providing this stuff for free and aggressively supporting it. But they're not.
i don't know.. i hate gfwl and don't want to be anywhere near it. last thing i want is for something similar to steam integrated into the os that i can't turn off at will... take dow2. need both steam (patching/drm) and gfwl (network/drm)... steamworks or similar
unless someone just comes up with a dirt cheap touch interface for the desktop and gets rid of the mice/keyboard...
i was under the impression that you don't have to use metro at all? is the start button gone from the "classic" or whatever it's called ui?
are you asking for an actual bath scene?
i started a game in .85 and am a bit wary of updating to .86 as i was expecting .87 to pop up soon after heavenfall's report on some dodgy tag (no idea what it does...) and other crash bits. should i expect .87 soon? can't really make a judgement based on a few turns of .85
They also reduce movement, impact the tile yield of nearby tiles, and effect what can be in that tile from a world generation standpoint.
the reduce movement bit makes sense, as does any terrain buffs/mali... but the rest, does it matter once you've plonked a city down already? does the original city square lose base production/food if you chop down surrounding forests? city base production is based on the til
not sure why it says "show kingdom info" when the faction is clearly empire. similarly, why use "kingdom report" must be a better word around somewhere if you use kingdom/empire with specific meanings...
bandit lord "Player stars with 2 Bandit units" obviously meant starts.. though stars could work... XD --- warlock "this units spells do 50% more damage" unit's ---- general "+3 to armies Accuracy" presumably armies' accuracy (or is it army's? depends on whether it's meant to be singular/plural) ---- warlord "sovereign gets 10% of all champions xp" champions' xp</
