ok so ive had elemental from back in September... at the time only had to play it was my wife's crappy low spec hp notebook. ( i could only play elemental in cloth map). on top of this dam notebook wouldnt run half the games i have anyways due to it being so basic. so OK... i kept hearing mac is very stable and how great it is. (PC's have always given me head aches with updates and errors and etc). i bought a IMAC this weekend runs like a dream. interface is different fr
noobshot
how about the expansions any chance there? or no... i gotta say the mac os runs so much smoother than the windows i cant believe it took me this long to try it out. i have a bad feeling ima have to save money again so i can get another pc just to run elemental omg this really sucks. =((
so any feedback on this?
hmmm i just got an iMAC today and it runs like a dream... all this time i was playing elemental on cloth map due to crappy laptop with marginal specs. so does this game run on mac or what? impulse reactor doesnt install and the ewom disc wont install either lol. i have a bad feeling about this =/
Edit: I am not a big fan of RTS although i do make exceptions for a couple of games - Rise of Nations, Age of empires and Total Anihilation.
try out preatorians... this is one simple rts with no resource micromanagement other than creating units and fighting with strategic elements. great game check it out
devs not posting for a few days means that they are knee deep in game creating goodness. i preffer them not posting and keep working. then finally when the stuff is ready to come out of the product line make a post with whats been worked on and with screen shots or vids. then back to silent work period. rinse repeat till the next break through.
lmao soo true the random name generator makes baby jesus cry. its so god awful that i have to create my own. all teh 99% of the names it spews out look like if it just punked out random letters. so bad...
Quoting sagittary, reply 30 I would say that instead of having to micro the building, maintaining, and defending of caravans, we simply take out the idea that we need specific units for them to begin with. As you said, the idea isn't to mimic what's going on, but make it a dynamic system. So routes are first build by caravans and then the benefits 'just happen' over time. Monsters can essentially siege ro
omfg... someone please kill this thread it needs to be put out of its misery.
i agree 100% that it needs more fun injection. and dont get me wrong the player based mods are adding flavor but id like more fun right from the core game.
my 2 cents on the matter is that yes the fans demand alot. BUT put in perspective that everyone wants alot of depth, fun and well nothing short of epic fantasy 4x experience for Elemental and its expansions. so in accuality its not that we are demanding alot is that we want to have this game benothing short of a classic. the best part of it all is... one of the BIGGEST fans
Try out some of the Expanded Factions that HeavenFall has created: Angels, Goblins, Elves, etc. He has done a really good job. Once you try the game with the mods available you won't want to play with anything else.
agreed... i think angels , demons, goblins , undead (vampires, witches, ghouls) should be always part of the fantasy 4x game. infact i really hope reguardless if they are part of lore or no
imho there needs to be more magic pew pew pew action ewom and its expansions. the magic section that is currently is in the tech trees need to be dumped completly into the arcane research section. that way you choose to either research spells or research magic books etc. (or remove the books from the research altogether and have them be learned from special locations throughout the land. again tho i dont think ther e shoudl be a magic in the tech research section. also i support the no
Basically I bought the game on release, was well disappointed with it, figured I'd give the patches time to sort it out but as is it's still IMO a pretty bad game. It says as much that they're completely abandoning the mechanics for the stand-alone expansion, if they aren't doing that then I apologise but that's what the Journals seem to be leaning towards. It's fair enough that'll get the expansions for free as I bought on release but tbh my
has anyone deleted elemental and reinstalled it to see it it solves the issue? im still stuck with a 2.25 gig download and impulse completely freezes when i try to download
Quoting Vandenburg, reply 38 Played some game now. The AI was obviously outexpanding me (I'm slow ) and then Altar and Capitar declared war on me. That was in turn 120 or so. AI had about 6-8 cities each, while I had 4. What it didn't had though, was good units. So I built my 14 attack, 9 defense on Worgen Battlemaidens. Each city of mine built one of them and then I grouped 2 of them up each and went out,
seem i have the same issue though seems worse... i cant update from 1.10 to 1.11. soon as i enter impulse the game status says paused. so then it says do you want to continue to download i press of coarse yes. ( size 2.25gig) after i press yes soon after impulse stops responding and the program crashes. i have repaired impulse and uninstalled and reinstalled it all lead me to the same deal. anyone else has this problem? and or suggestions? thx
With the benefit of hindsight here's how I'd rate the game: v1.0: 4 out of 10 v1.1: 6 out of 10 v1.11: 7 out of 10 It's getting there. I'm thinking v1.2 will bring it to an 8 out of 10. My biggest pet peeves are the AI and the UI. The diplomacy part of the game still needs a lot work to get it to GalCiv II levels. The UI is still very obscure. Jon, Derek, and I have spent some time going
id like to wish everyone a happy holidays. spend time with family and friends relax and clear your mind. The rest of the community and I are thankful you all are doing to make EWOM the fore front of 4x fantasy games. We all appreciate the time and energy and love you are putting into this game to make it spectacular. rest and enjoy the last days of the year. if elemental crosses your mind while on break i entrust to you one suggestion. just play.
great idea. i believe that it will get attention after they really the the core down packed. i dont think they should be crafted at least from say blizzards scale.. epic/ legendary/ artfact those should only drop from monsters. im also thinking ud have to explore a dungeon and u leave the world map and enter into a dungeon of sorts with layout etc. u got a set amount of time to explore / saly the boss monster and perhaps get luckly on loot drop. the midd
I no longer want to feel like i'm calling down an artillery strike every combat spell i cast. (You can either cast a small medium or large artillery strike what color would you like it in?)
lmao funny stuff... the shiny colors of spell casts i like. but lol so funny with ref to an artillery strike. lmao
hmm im feeling rather noobish here... lol... ok soon as i get home from work i will check this out. thank you for ur time in clarifying. + rep for u
alright so far into 1.1 and the game is looking alot better than previous versions so definitely going in the right direction. i got some problems though i need some help. so i start the game and research shard harvesting. after i get the tech i find that i still cannot build any of the improvements on the tiles with the shards. the tech is still on the list i research it again... still i cant build any improvements. i go to warfare and i research equipment. ok i
just keep in mind that 1.1 is not kaels baby. hes just getting into the mix now and his 1.1 input is coming in the last part of it. everything after 1.1 is wat kael will be cranking out... anycase i have faith that he will inject some fun and streamline the game. later down the road id like to see more eye catching graphics (game is kinda gloomy feel) and the armors and weapons sure need some graphical loving not to mention better stats.
