I bump this. Thread for greatness as well. I don't. Think this needs to be a mod though the devs need to incorporate this into the vanilla game because that ridiculous city sprawl needs to be removed just like cloud walk. Also I really like making people having to decide wat buildings to place in the city due to limited space and the high buidlingd clearly give u the distinctions of city levels.

Auto placement for buildings yay Snake city sprawl map engulfers nay Limit city size to the nine tiles yay City buildings up not out yay
Hmmm, Frogboy, if I understand correctly, those who pre-ordered will get another expansion for free (or is that no longer the case?); so there is still a possibility that the people who preordered War of Magic for the multiplayer aspects will get multiplayer - and without spending another dollar - am I correct?
If you bought elemental before I think it was oct 31 of 2010 you getfallen enchantress free and the next

last screenshot is from the wildlands area ruins of imperium
those walled areas are from the wildland of the ruins of imperium...
im hopeing the world is filled with fantasy content. an alive dynamic world with events and nice graphics... with that in mind i agree that the ai can always be moddified and improved over time. what i might want to see if a player assaults a wildland area and fails that wildland area will start periodically sending out units to attack said player.
like the rest of the team, are working hard today (on a Sunday)
hey brad you gotta be proud of your devs.... i say if they are in the office still order them some pizza. if they are already gone for the day. get them all for lunch tommorrow some pizza. pizza = power ups
No. Please don't make Champions a micro-mamagement nightmare. Keep the functional use of them simple. BUT I agree they are looking too awesome in combat. I would prefer to see them more as special units that give bonuses to the group they are stacked with or to allow events to be activated such as triggering quests and giving city bonuses. Basically I would prefer to see: Armies fight Armies: Champions fi
Derek, Thanks for addressing the community and giving everyone the heads up on where the game stands. ive skimmed through the replys and it seems everyone agrees that we all want a great solid game so take your time. imho i think that FE should be the stand alone which takes the longest to make since its breaking completely away from WOM with almost all of what it entails. that being said think a bit long term in the sense the better core you make FE the less frustrations you
i like iarienna's post... i think puts out alot of good ideas. im also feeling a ogrebattle like concept of giving units orders and that unit pretty much does its own thing according to the strategy given. i mean im not saying that on the world map you dont move around your pieces but when in tactical combat you dont directly control each action your armies just set the strategy for their behavior. the only thing that should be player controlled should be t
great dev jornal derek. really shows that in the small amount of time you have been at stardock how huge an impact your taking the game in new and improved directions. the community appreciates your hard work and determination to make a fun and engaging and hopefully timeless 4x fantsy game. the community can be a bit hard on the dev's es
I think if FE sucks, Brad should fire Derek, Toby, and Jon and bring in the 5 biggest complainers in the forum and see if they can do any better. I'll start packing my bags now. Lord Xia, you should too.
if it sucks it will be largely due to the game engine it has from wom. the devs not only have to modify the game engine but also create content and mechanics. hell most of the fixing has been centere
Quoting KingHobbit, reply 124 I do like the idea of the mystic laboratory to use the shard another way; however, that being said. Isn't stock piling mana just a game strategy---to go through the game without using magic until the end when you have bigger and badder spells. I do that in MoM and Elemental now. What is the point of summoning a pair of spiders if I am researching a Great Wyr

AI Programmers
i agree on this... if doing the ai solo might prove the biggest challenge to you to date you might really want to get extra help so it doesnt royally flop. i mean if stardock wants to attract the rest of the gamers who didnt purchase WOM to begin with you need to raelly make sure FE shines like a becon of a worthy successor to MOM/FFH/AOW. and what looks to me t
There is no reason to buy War of Magic. The game isn't very good due to many poor design choices, bugs, blandness, lack of balance, and lack of content. Fallen Enchantress is a stand alone game, all of the features and changes that the Devs have posted about FE have been vast improvements. I would wait until Fallen Enchantress comes out <span style="text-decorati
my fantasy/magic fix right now is coming from playing duelsofplaneswalkers 2012 on ps3. plenty of magic and fantasy there and too boot i get to play with friends coop/ffa or headtohead. alot of fun and it was only 10 bucks. i bought ewom special edition and well its the least game ive ever played that ive bought. im hoping for the best with FE and with Derek at the helm i know its pushing 100% of the resources he has at his disposal so waiting for FE for now.
Maybe after FE comes out the team can push WOM over the proverbial rise to greatness. I don't think it is really that far away. I like that I no longer have to imbue a hero in order for them to use their special ability. However, I don't like how there are basically no heroes wandering around any more. Taking away Janusk was fine, but everyone? I used to vigorously pursue heroes but now there are fewer people out there. <
The beta should be out in about a month. I shouldn't say this (not publicly anyway) but FE is a little discouraging to me as I don't think anyone is going to want to play WOM after FE is available. I was hoping that FE and WOM would just be different but FE is just better. One of the consequences of the Gamestop acqusition of Impulse is that Stardock Entertainment hired up. The team on FE is signific
ive always been an advocate on WE-go combat. always hated the dreaded you-go i go scenario. since whoever goes first gets huge advantages using you-go i go.
tactical combat needs to be re designed not removed. and im not going to bash the OP becuase the person is just giving his 2 cents and tossing up ideas is always good to look at things in different perspectives. but all in all tactical combat for elemental should be kept. but like i said it needs a COMPLETE revamp. i mean if im fighting from inside my city i dont want to see a tactical fight over some field with houses and fences id like to see a walled structure that i know my men are defend
well i learned something new. derek says in the interview that the title fallen enchantress was there before he joined star dock. i didnt know that heh...
