Looking forward to it, haven't played in a while, hopefully this brings the game a lot closer to its potential.

Noooo I was about to buy (another) copy of homm3 from them :( I guess I can wait...
So I formatted my pc the other day. Before I did I made an archive of Elemental. Now I try to restore it and it appears to work; it runs through all the steps and finally says "Install Complete!". Then it realises it hasn't done anything at all, and the status changes back to "Available". No Elemental. Is there any way to make this thing actually work? [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]

Select the settlement. At the bottom left of the screen between the "Kingdom Info" and "Settlement Details" buttons there are tabs labeled "Training" and "Building". Selecting these shows the current queue; click the little X at the top right of an icon to cancel it. Note that these tabs will not exist if nothing is being built/trained.
Looks pretty good. The fact that George RR Martin seems happy with it makes it even more exciting!
There is a mod to allow you to build a stable in a city that gives you 1 horse per 4 turns called City Stables. https://forums.elementalgame.com/396235

I found it funny that there was a quick move option for the main map, but it didn't work for tactical map where it was really needed. An animation speed slider would be awesome, it isn't just moving that is the problem, some hit animations last forever.
So... has anyone completed the Master Quest and can shed some light on how it is supposed to work? Did I break it, or am I missing something?
Considering how important breaking alliances is to diplomacy, I'm surprised it's not in there. I'm guessing it is because the AI couldn't handle it, so hopefully it will be added.
I'm finishing a large map maxed out on AI and # of opponents in less than 4-5 hours.
Try limiting your strats and victory conditions to avoid the easy options. I found the game lasted longer and was a lot more fun if I didn't use Sand Golems or any summoning spells until late in the game for example. Hopefully the balance and AI issues will be fixed one day so it isn't necessary ;)
https://forums.elementalgame.com/395558 Thanks mewho1 ;)
https://forums.elementalgame.com/395556
You don't actually have to wait for the non-aggression pact to expire. It's probably a bug, but it's possible to declare war after discussing dynasties with the other faction.
Well that is one way around it, works on alliances as well [e digicons]:D[/e]
That is some nice exploratory testing there!
Ignoring that fact that it is easy to win game quickly, I would consider 219 turns to be mid to late game. Late game implies high level technology, which I would say is after turn 300 or so. It depends on map size (and pacing?) though.
However besides you I have not seen a single developer at Stardock come forward and also taken some of the blame. It's quite sad to see nobody standing at your side sharing the blame during these heart wretching times when we all know you were not the only developer working Elemental. You REALLY need to quit placing all of the blame on yourself... it's not like you are working with a team of developers who are all androids a
Sticky thread: https://forums.elementalgame.com/393849 Also a lot of good advice here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/394125
I started a large map with 8 other factions, with only the Master Quest and Conquest win conditions. Early in the game I decided I would win by completing the master quest, and allied myself with another faction. Upon reaching level 5 adventuring, I visited an Ancient Fortress. Unfortunately, when the "Are you ready?" screen appeared, I clicked NO. Possibly a bad decision. Now the quest seems to be in my quest log, but I can't find a way to complete it.
I really don't want to update to a broken version, so I would prefer they took their time. I'm enjoying the game in its current state anyway.
I do like the tile limit, because it forces you to expand and specialize, rather than building a giant city with every possible building (imagine what that would do to frame rates...). So I think it makes it more interesting to play, even though it might not be "realistic". Also, it wouldn't make sense to be limited to one building of each type if the city size wasn't limited.
There are some games you play that are fun despite the bugs and issues they have; Elemental is one of them. What sets Elemental apart though is that the devs actually have a chance to fix it, because they won't be shut down due to lack of money :D
You have to defend them all, that is one downside. Though if you have enough there might not be anywhere outside of your area of influence for random mobs to spawn lol.
Grasping at straws? No, I just said that to irritate you. It worked. [e digicons][/e] My post was no more important than the others adding their support to the OP, as I already stated. Please don't try to derail the thread, it is about how overpowered the sand golem is, not about the AI.
