Will check and get back to you
KaiLae
Hi was just checking if anyone else is having this problem. When I start playing (huge map) after maybe about 10 or so turns my FPS (I have fraps running so it displays FPS) goes from 45 or so to 5, and it takes a long time to do anything (turns, moves, etc). Has anyone else seen this? Saving and then reloading the game clears this however it comes back quickly.
Pre-purchased LH, or prepurchased FE?
Been away for a while, so don't know/haven't seen the answer to the following: How do you get in on the beta for LH?
Looks good. I'm not sure if the weapon effects though will be overpowered or not, some sound potentially unbalancing. I will reserve any judgement on that however until I can see the beta. Which brings up an important question(s) - when is the beta? How do you get into the beta? Very curious on this.
I feel foolish for having to ask this, considering that I've been playing since very early beta. However, I just want to know: What is essence? Meaning, what, exactly does it do. I of course know that for each essence a city has you basically get a free enchantment. But I believe it does more. Could someone explain all of it's aspects to me? Btw, it might be useful to have it in the hiergamenon as a topic, which it isn't now.
I'm currently suffering blackscreening when I play the newest versions of FE. The game will stall and then all graphics vanish. Windows reports the game is still running and you can frequently see the game cursor, but the only way to get out of it is to control-alt-del and close program. Happens quite frequently as well, you likely won't get more than an hour to 45 min of play before you're reloading a save.
Thanks for the clarification, but I'm with Leo. I'd say the bug isn't with the mechanics now but with the description. There's no way to know unless told that this is correct behavior, which is less than ideal.
Just noticed this (unsure if anyone else has reported it). Refined agriculture is unresearchable. You can pick it, research it, it says it's completed but doesn't actually complete. You can then pick it to research again....and again...and again. Can attach savegame for others to look at if interested.
"I'm going to pick path of the defender, and see what that brings me" Apparently, it brings being mauled by a bear :)
Don't know if this is intended or not, but you can acquire heartseeker as random loot from battles; the quest is not necessary (.86).
Nice catch, good work.
Haven't noticed that one but I did get a CTD on control-N myself, so wouldn't be surprised if this is the case.
Um, fireball is a three turn casting spell, unless I missed an update. Takes so long that it's mostly worthless actually, as you could have done about the same damage using other 1 turn casting spells 3 times, except that you don't have to worry about a melee furball forming that makes the fireball no longer useful.
I just don't see how you can look at the trait system's potential and NOT do those things as the designer. Especially if Derek feels like Brad does that heroes need more differentiation. Unless they have some other equally interesting idea in mind.
I think the thing that people find...unappealing...is that no matter what path you choose, the options are basically the same. T
Well, I voted good, because even with all the issues, I have a bad case of 1-more-turn-itis when I play it. However, don't want to rain on your crash parade Frogboy, but my game crashes on a routine basis. Not all the time, but perhaps once or twice an hour when I play it. It either just suddenly stalls when on the global map and then "Fallen Enchantress has stopped working" OR suddenly on the tactical battle map the animations get REALLY slow and after a minute or
I'm unsure how to fix this, but the issue where it's more effective to spam cities everywhere than try to develop a small number to large size needs addressing. Also, exactly what is the growth mechanic and everything that goes into it? Game does not explain the rules behind it from what I can see.
Seen more than a few bugs (I'll get around to reporting them all eventually) but this one is probably the most lol so far. I use a custom faction that uses Altarians as the race. First and unrelated to this, is that Altar and I are both use red borders, which becomes really really annoying if we're neighbors. I don't think you can change this anywhere that I know of (this is just bad design and not a bug though). However, when in their territory (had an alliance at this time) I co

Did my eyes deceive me, or did stardock say that anyone with a FE preorder will be in on this beta? That would of course mean you are unleashing myself on yourself.
At least you guys are in on the beta, I'm still waiting :)
- My biggest -if not only-: 'I wish it was different' concerns heroes immortality. I would like them to have a chance to die (including my sovereign) and there should be some other ways for acquiring heroes later in the game (because the path in magic research for more experienced heroes is cool, but I fear that most heroes will be killed by the time research has been made). I assume the aim was to have a controlled heroes population.
Afaik dynasties are in but nonfunctional currently. There is apparently a setting you can enable to turn them on, but they mostly don't work under the current beta build (read this in another thread somewhere). Ships don't seem to exist currently and I'm not sure if they'll be added (perhaps later).
Agreed. It just doesn't work. Automate caravans. Roads build up the same. Monsters/armies can stand on the road or stand outside of the city to block off trade.
I'm not a beta player, but it sounds like a good suggestion would be to use the system that total war series uses for land trade routes. In TW, if you put a hostile unit on the road being used by a trade route, not onl
Can't recall where, but I think devs confirmed this one in another thread already.
