OK I hosed up meant to post this as a reply on under the late game ranged weapons post.

The trade offs between x-bows and regular bows is distance, speed and training time. X-bows are slow and short ranged but pack a massive punch in their range also it takes far less time to train someone to use a x-bow. A bow requires longer training time but has a faster rate of fire and an extended range. To make them realistic make it take longer to train an archer and give crossbows a shorter range and slower rate of fire.
OK thank you for clearing that up thought that was a little weird. and I started the Dragon quest with one of my children but had to finish it with my sovereign.
I researched level 3 notable locations as empire and when I activated quests at 2 of them the rest of the locations had disappeared on investigation (reloading save and going to different ones) I discovered they were all giving one of two quests and as soon as I had that quest the other locations that had that quest were removed is this supposed to be this way?
That would work for roads but if I can run 2 caravans from my all my cities then it would seem that my food production would get crazy compared to kingdoms built on the same resources and as food and gold are your main resources in this game with food being critical in the early game that seems very unbalanced. The tech to build multiple caravans is easy to research so you can get this going early.
I just started a game last night as fallen for the first time and noticed I can research to get more than one caravan per city. I may be missing something but I never noticed the ability to do this as kingdom and I looked in the heirgamenon and saw nothing that would allow you to make multiple caravans as kingdom. Am I missing something? If not why can't kingdoms have multiple caravans.
I am still playing the game that is in I will see if it is still showing in one of my save games and post it if it is. I am not at the house right now. I tried clicking on it and could not do anything with it when I first saw it.
Any time I get a new unit through summons in a city or choosing guardian unit on a city upgrade I have to click off that city then back to see the unit.
Is this intentional? Making them the leader does work.Would think I should be able to not have to go through the trouble of swapping armies so they become leader.
I do not have a full city but just a couple of the buildings appearing in the ocean and it has the same name as my city.
One thing I have noticed if I save about every 2 turns (not auto save) it does not seem to happen or at least not nearly as frequently.
This is happening in 64 bit as well as 32 bit and always happens during a battle or right after it gets to be my turn again. I have not been able to make it happen on the same turn from a saved game even when trying to do the exact same actions in game. Asus p5n-d motherboard, 4 GB OZC memory, Q6700 quad core, no overclocking for CPU or memory, GTX 460 Nvidia card with latest driver. It might play 50+ turns with no problem or 2 and crash.
