A computer(s) in a LAN having an internet connection is merely incidental. It has nothing to do with being a requirement to form a LAN and play games on a LAN. Anyway, I think the days of LAN (as we knew it) and any kind of spawn copies etc etc are over. Sad but true.

I think Stardock has already said that crafting/forging will be done in a post release patch or expansion? As for the two worlds thing, this could be done in a matter of seconds with a mod yes? I agree that there are many areas where Elemental is simply a better game than MoM and I also agree that Elemental's biggest weakness at this point in time (in general and in comparison to MoM) is the tactical battles and the magic system.

The lack of LAN is pure lunacy and greed on Blizz's part and I hope they take a good hit in sales for it from the old fans. I don't like the camera control. Some kind of isometric camera lock would be great. When I get into battle I don't want to fiddle with the camera too much, I just want to get down to business. The camera also makes it hard to click on certain parts of the terrain when issuing move orders.

I have played about 8 tactical battles now...what I feel needs improvement so far: All enemies seem to have tunnel vision for my sovereign, to the point where they will run all over the map trying to get passed my other units to attack the Sov. It's pretty annoying because the units won't stand and fight I have to chase them everywhere (also I never end up taking damage because I kill them and keep the Sov away) Which leads me to how clunky the movements feel. The hardest part

I played a quick test game to turn 50 and quit. Then I played a slower, more in-depth game to turn 35-ish but it crashed. Now I'm going to sleep too.

A Shogun mod because I have zero faith is Creative Assembly to make a sequel to the amazing Shogun: Total War that doesn't totally suck.

It's really looks much improved and I like this new direction. Seems to strike a well considered balance between building cities without spamming them and claiming resources in an intuitive manner. Being a wargamer, the borders being close together doesn't bother me at all. Wars are meant to move borders. It gives each faction an established area that is like their nation and it helps to make diplomacy and border control more a part of the game, which considering how much potential I

I'm very happy with speeding up the game, for instance magic learning, research etc. One thing that I loved in Master of Magic was how every turn at the beginning is very important, things start out fast and if you make a bad mistake your game is probably over or it will take a big stroke of luck to get back to an advantage. Making the monsters aggressive and adding "world diff" helps with that too. Good stuff. [quote who="Annatar11" reply="24" id="2682669"] Quotin

I had researched most of the Adventure tech tree so I could do some of those ancient dungeons...well the first quest I undertake my party steps into an Alchemist's hut and BOOM I have won the game with the Quest of Mastery and at turn 260 no less. I don't think this is supposed to happen? I figured there would be some massive boss fight and it would take much longer than 260 turns to accomplish this...

DA was good enough but forgettable and for people who played BG and IWD series in their heyday there was no real improvement over those games in DA other than graphics. Mass Effect is basically a Final Fantasy game on the PC in sci-fi flavor. Great production values but gameplay that makes me want to fall asleep just thinking about it.

I agree with picking up the pace a little, at least if you are not playing on Epic. It's feel like 300 turns go by before I have really done anything other than the bare basics.
