[.90]First five turns impression

Just a quick play through, it's MUCH faster for me now.

MUCH. Saw the opening, Scrolling is smooth. The graphics...corruption thing...is still there, but I can either play Windowed or Cloth map to get around that (hopefully - I know Cloth Map clears it up - tested that).

MUSIC DOESN'T SKIP ANYMORE! YAY Now I can listen to this awesome music in this game. I can see the opening sequence. Background on main menu scrolls well. Factions are different, love the new races and the difference even in clothing option and equip options. Heck, even face options - looking really different now. Animation in 3D mode is nice.

Thanks a trillion - I'm going to have some severe fun with this now.

BTW, nice new splash screen.

I did see some funky looking things during Sovereign creation - will report those tomorrow.

I started a Vanilla game with Relais, I think that his his name, crashed in the first 4 turns. Started a new game same guy medium map and it seems to be more stable. Only played 26 turns but it seems to be much improved! I got to get some sleep now!

I played a quick test game to turn 50 and quit. Then I played a slower, more in-depth game to turn 35-ish but it crashed. Now I'm going to sleep too.

I played one game for 40 or so turns.

I like the new system but I was either the victim of RNG or starting positions need to be tweaked to not be quite so close. In my sovereigns starting position he was unable to build a city because another city was too close. That also created problems for me because I couldn't build my city close to nearby farmland nor could I found a second city to reach it because I was too close to another faction.

Is there another way for me to produce food? Or is the intent that I would go smash the other city to grab the land.

Its definitely harder now. In fact even if I had the room I don't think I'd have had the money to develop a second city anyhow.

I think your starting position should give you enough legroom to have a small core of territory and resources to exploit. I don't like my capital being next to someone elses capital. It feels more like I'm running a city-state than a kingdom.
