Here is my DxDiag file, since I didn't send it before. =) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8710134/DxDiag.txt Best regards, Steven.

Do you mean the last rendition of the Stardock forums, or the last Stardock game? Anyway, thanks for the welcome. =) Best regards, Steven.
Well, I did not know that it has been tried adfinitum. I have only been on a Stardock web-site a short time. Which is the reason for the miscommunication I think. I'm wondering, why does Stardock not place a higher importance on the quality of their own forums, when it seems that they place a high emphasis on the quality of their games? Best regards, Steven.
Yes, you make a good point. Best regards, Steven.
I think this is a good idea. [e digicons]k1[/e] IMHO it's seriously worth considering, at some stage in development or post-release. If it's feasible, it might be worth checking it out. Best regards, Steven.
Well, if it isn't hard-coded I think it would be good if there was an option in the game or mod ability to have 1.5 MP per diagonal move, and the AI just needs to be able to calculate the quickest (least movement points) path to the destination. Best regards, Steven.
Oh, let's just be totally cynical then. Seriously! It will work! Yes we can! We can encourage a great game by shooting down in flames anyone who has a different opinion to us! Seriously! It will work! Yes we can! Best regards, Steven. PS: I never said it would be a subscription, or that it would pay for the whole cost. Seriously though (real seriously, not this fake stuff) do you think that the current state of the forums is a goo
Complaining about poor forum stability and requesting better forum and forum servers is not trolling. I don't believe I've been to a forum for a long time that has this much instability and downtime and so many posts of people telling the administrators that the forums are acting up. Personally I think it would be cool if people could pay a bit extra on top of the cost of the game and contribute to an ultra-reliable, always-on forums system. Maybe people could pay $5US ext
I agree with arstal's post. [e digicons][/e] Best regards, Steven.
This was a big reason why Civ 4 -> Civ 5 means a shift from squares -> hexes. I must admit I was a bit disappointed that 1. Elemental uses squares, and 2. diagonal movement (going through the corners) cost the same as going through the sides. Basically, having squares, and equal cost for diagonals and side movement, means that the risk/reward ratio is not really balanced (extra vision and scouting ability for no extra movement cost). (Why would you go by the sides when you c
Since you get to travel a lot further and reveal a lot more along the diagonals, I think it would make sense for diagonal moves to cost 1.5 movement points. Currently, as long as heavy terrain does not block you, why would you not go on a diagonal? Best regards, Steven.
The truth is, while it might not be a case of "the common man vs. corporate greed" TM, it is also not a case of "everything corporations and government do is honest and above board" TM. The truth is somewhere in the middle. I think Stardock is a great company, and is a huge example of games and fan association done *right*. Oh, and less DRM. [e digicons]5*[/e] Best regards, Steven.
There is seldom only one side to any story. I don't pirate at all and I disagree with pirating. And the Humble Indie Bundle incident did not help. But then again, check out the cost of Civ 5 on Steam in Australia when we pay via USD too... Best regards, Steven
The search function seems very general, unfortunately. I am interested in finding the post referenced in the SubTitle, but the results the Search function comes up with are very general and often from a while ago. :-( What is the best way to search the forums? Best regards, Steven.
What do you think of the idea of Customized Quests as a cool new feature? Best regards, Steven.
Why don't you have decent bonuses for engaging in diplomacy with the minor factions, rather than just destroying them and taking their unique unit? =) For example, if you could get a better deal if you worked with them rather than overpower them, this would provide an excellent incentive to treat them more than just a speed-bump. I think it could be great being able to initiate diplomacy with minor factions. You might want to consider some mechanic similar to City States i
Good point. [e digicons]k1[/e] Best regards, Steven.
By the title, you know what this is about. =) Be able to customize: Conditions required for the particular quest to trigger (so any combination of Empire/Kingdom/race/faction etc/Sovereign/Champion/regular unit/city/building/map site/turn number/diplomacy state/item etc. - basically any criteria that can be checked for in a map) including stat requirements of particular types of unit/s for the quest and also percentage chance a quest will appear if the conditions are
You make some good points. [e digicons]k1[/e] Maybe such new mechanics could be put in a mod (if mods are going to be capable of doing that =)) and maybe an expansion if the mechanics work really well. [e digicons][/e] Best regards, Steven.
Well you do make some good points about Good vs. Evil in the fantasy genre and how it could relate to Elemental [e digicons]k1[/e] - but obviously the actual act of setting up this evilness would still not be extremely graphically depicted. ;-) Probably just the text (for sacrificing people - just put them on the Altar and they disappear) and for slaves, a believable but subtle change in the way they look. =) Best regards, Steven.
[e digicons]k1[/e] Thirded! (if that's possible ;-)) Best regards, Steven.
[quote quoting="post"] I saw an earlier post and liked the idea of capturing heroes. This mechanic could work two ways: a) Surrender: A surrender mechanic before a battle were a champion might be outnumbered/outgunned, and surrenders to the opposing forces. This could allow a further game mechanic, were you have the option to ransom back captured heirs (ala Game of Thrones...Jamie anyone?) and heroes. This could ALSO lead to other int
Sounds great. [e digicons][/e] Mutually exclusive abilities and/or limited points - so you could never get all the good traits, but careful choice could enable you to mold your Sovereign, warrior, non-combat NPC, city etc. the way that suits you and your overall goals. [e digicons]k1[/e] Best regards, Steven.
If Stardock is planning on supporting Elemental and follow-ups well after release, then I don't think there is much chance of them withdrawing the servers any time soon. But anyway, sometimes the best results for the most people are achieved by making some small compromises. However you define DRM, and no matter which is the "best" definition, I think Stardock are one of the best teams to support. If they do well with Elemental, get it right *and* make a lot of sales then th
Yes, I think the UI needs *just a little bit* :P of work before release. ;-) Best regards, Steven.
