Well, as far as I know Frogboy AKA Brad is married. ;-) If you want to learn AI, why not? [e digicons]B)[/e] Best regards, Steven.

Actually, it was when Donna touched the Doctor's hand (that he lost and then regrew at the start of Season 2 of the new series) when the TARDIS was on the verge of being destroyed in the Dalek Crucible. It was called the Timelord/Human Metacrisis, and Donna had to have all her memories of the Doctor erased so she could live because her human brain couldn't handle all the extra Timelord stuff for more than a few hours. At the end of Season One, the Doctor had to absorb th
And can one successfully advance their skill in their own time? I enjoy playing fheroes2 , but the AI isn't great yet. Can I learn how to create good AI code as a hobby and interest? Best regards, Steven.
I would get a 64 bit OS if FE is good and the game after that is 64 bit. I say, if you still have money after doing a development extension for FE, make the next game 64 bit with huge maps and all the other benefits that entails and sell your pioneering vision and forward thinking to the world! And, LightofAbraxas, that means there will also be rivers! =) Best regards, Steven.
Well, it's hard to extrapolate from a few people the whole of the marketetable population. So unless it gets more extreme, I've decided I'm not going to get really excited about it. Best regards, Steven.
One of the later WoM patches specificially uses a "season" to be equivalent to one turn (and even seasons and years after a fixed starting year), so four turns in a game year. Previously to that, you're right, there was no game world time period specified, so first turn was Turn 1, and incremented by 1 each turn. Other than that, I agree. Each game, big or small, fantasy, sci-fi (or both ;-)), turn based, real time, or both, has its own logic and rules. Best re
Yes. I'll give you some Karma. =) Best regards, Steven.
I'm just hoping FE is fun, solid and polished. Remember that because WoM was so far behind the game, it takes a while to catch up. As long as FE is fun, solid and polished, and has some gains it consolidates, then I'll be happy. That would leave the third Elemental to branch out a bit. But relatively soon, they need a fun, solid, polished base and a significant ability to mod on top of that (which should come not soon after FE release). Good modding can&#
Quoting StevenAus, reply 45the_Monk, what details would you need to know to make a good recommendation on a wired router? Similar to wireless routers or quite different? Best regards, Steven. For starters how many systems are you planning to connect to the internet through the new router?
Sorry I took a little while to get back to you. Just one computer (if by number of
Welcome to the sausage factory. When things go seriously wrong, fixing the original game takes seriously long. I'm annoyed too, but things can only go as fast as inherent factors allow, and I agree that at this point in time it makes a lot more sense to focus on making FE a fun, solid, polished game (or better) rather than devoting significant resources to a game that's claim to fame (or infamy) has already been decided. Best regards, Steven.
the_Monk, what details would you need to know to make a good recommendation on a wired router? Similar to wireless routers or quite different? Best regards, Steven.
Actually, I might have been forgetting that this is primarily a wireless router focussed thread. Does wired have the same requirements for a good router? I have a router currently that has a wireless capability but my connection is a wired one. Best regards, Steven.
I like the idea of a teleportation sickness, and if balanced right, could make teleporting useful but not the overwhelmingly useful "I win" button (especially against the AI) it is now. =) What do others think? Derek, I look forward to your next developer post. Hopefully you've got some useful stuff from all the ideas presented in these various magic threads! Best regards
Jafo, what would you recommend as some good mid to high-mid priced router with decent security? I'm in Australia like you are. Best regards, Steven.
It is possible to be optimistic and realistic at the same time, you know. ;-) Maybe requires a little juggling, but it is possible to look forward to things without getting too upset when they don't turn out exactly as you wanted. Best regards, Steven.
And "teleportation sickness" idea for teleport spells would be useful too (such as mentioned previously by others), such as halving stats or attack/defense/damage/current and maximum health, plus double mana cost for spells of all casters affected, for three strategic turns for all teleport spells except Escape which would have one strategic turn. =) Best regards, Steven.
What about this easy implemention of the "teleportation sickness" idea mentioned previously? Derek, what do you think about this way of balancing the power of teleporting armies with the need to strategically balance teleport spells so it's not just a case of strategic nullification of zapping in from anywhere on the whole map and attacking with full strength? Best regards, Steven.
I think the "teleportation sickness" idea mentioned elsewhere could work well. Something like halving stats or attack/defense/damage/current and maximum health (including champions and sovereign) for three strategic turns and doubling the mana cost of all spells cast by affected units, using the regular teleport to anywhere in your territory (Cloud Walk and any similar spells) or the spell that collects all units in one spot (Call of the Titans and any similar spells), and one strategic
I am speechless (and almost wordless). How can allowing the patent of a human gene test *not* be implicit ownership of a human's genes and the right to manage them the best they can? Best regards, Steven.
I agree, the base level of the game has got so hard, it is flawed in a lot of games. Best regards, Steven.
I agree with both the OP and the first reply. Best regards, Steven.
Yes, I must admit this patch does sound quite discouraging, especially if it is possible for previous fixes to revert to unfixed in subsequent versions. Frogboy, what do you say about the bugs coming back issue? Best regards, Steven.
And that the developers have specificially mentioned MoM as the game they are looking most at when making FE. Best regards, Steven.
Me too. There are some things that can't be told at this early stage, but the variety and number of spells in the list is cause to worry, especially since the developers have explicity mentioned MoM as the game they are most looking to. FFH2 had a reasonable list, and although the combat systems are different between Elemental and FFH2, there are some very interesting spells in the FFH2 lineup. Best regards, Steven.
