Well, the way Wesnoth does it is that the unit that reduces a unit or champion to 0 hitpoints or less is the one that gets the greatest experience. Since it is hard (read impossible) to ensure that every unit is killed by the unit of yours you want most to get experience, unit levelling is controlled. But it also adds a lot of micromanagement. And if a similar system was used in FE, what about those heroes covered by the Death Ward spell (that resurrect once with 50% hitpoin

Reply to Enemy Champions in FE Beta

You should not be able to get close to Legendary weapons just by killing an unsupported champion with hardly any hitpoints and no spells. Agreed it is fun, but reward is way higher than the minimal risk you take attacking (and defeating) the opposing hero. I think it would be better if they started a mini-faction, since normally the only way they can be killed is by defeating the entire faction they are on, and you could argue that they should not be able to be killed in a very ea

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but sometimes, instead of halving the affected unit's attack, it sets it to 0. Good for damaged units, but it can make battles when you are able to Shrink everyone very easy.

[quote who="Morkleb" reply="50" id="3069606"]I think that rebalancing heroes/regular troops are needed in order to get a better feel for this game and providing input for the beta. Right now the beginning of every game is fun but then all you need is really 2 heroes to win the game. Regular units is a waste of time and resources and upgrading them is just impossible. If the goal is to have regular units alongside heroes then this should be a priority in order to get feedback on how the game p

You could always check in "C:\Users\*username*\My Documents\My Games\FallenEnchantress" to see if there is a debug.err file corresponding to the crash time. If not, you might want to describe to Stardock how the errors occurred to see if it is possible to improve the crashlog saving program, as it is important that it works (almost?) all the time.

And for this, we need to be able to select what place (number) in the party a unit or champion is. At the very least we need to be able to define the leader.

Of course if a magic resistance check favors the unit the spell is being cast on gets half damage or half effect, you'd still want completely immune units to not get any damage (or only 1 damage). And partial magic resistance for a certain element would reduce damage by a certain percentage both when a magic resistance check succeeds *and* when it fails.

Yes. One zip should be made for each crash. It's good also if you can submit a crash bug just after it's made - so you can provide some context for the crash, and this makes it easier for the devs to figure out a good solution. =) If you want, you can use the public folder in an app like Dropbox - right-click on the file once uploaded and click "Copy public link" - if you don't want Dropbox running, you can log into the web-site and upload to the public folder
