Whats the difference? Fallen Enchantress seems like War of Magic 2.0 Other then more things removed (Dynasties) , better city management and character upgrades, I'm just not seeing a whole lot new here. Disappointed that there are no new RPG/CRPG elements and after 2+ years they still can't get boats and island maps working? War of Magic - Research was originally Random - City management bad (build house, build farm, rep

Impressions & Comments - Glad to see the whole build house, farm & repeat is gone! - RPG/CRPG elements, sorry to see marriage removed and a complete lack of any new RPG/CRPG elements, the character system in Distant Worlds - Legends has more RPG elements! - Leader/Champions can't die now, that's just lame! - Seems like WOM 2.0, what's really different, not seeing a whole lot new here. - Ok, it's a beta but, it still crashes/han
Champions/Heroes - How do you get more, all I see are Champions that are locked and the only option is to attack them?
I think the speed up of the tactical battles has caused this, where the animation speed and events no longer match. One has to now wonder what's the point of combat animations if they don't show what's going on?
If game companies gave refunds for every bad game or games players didn't like, there wouldn't be any game companies left! Stardock has already done the right thing, by giving FE away free to those who purchased WOM early on, which more than most companies have done, so I don't see point to this.
I'm more concerned about FE using the same game engine as WOM, just look at all the stuff they had to remove and the time it took just to make WOM stable.
So far this has been the most stable version of WOM, (clean install with no mods) that said the game is boring. Exploring Exploring is dead in WOM, no matter what map you play you are surrounded by AI players early on, limiting exploring and the removal of Boats also killed exploring the map. Island Maps just don't have any use. Add an underground passages like (Age of Wonder) or airship to travel over land/sea if your are going to remove boats and to
Maybe check out pioneers since they are supposed to be single units.
When you upgrade pioneers, you get multiple units! I'm going to try to add the custom unit I want to the CoreUnits.xml, to see if that works!
I created a new unit Healer, then when to C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents\My Games\Elemental\Units Edited the file Healer_1155726780-6502.xml Added 0 to the end of UnitType like below. &n
Looks like they removed enough to make it stable but, somewhere along the line they removed the fun (exploring, random research, etc.). I guess the new Frogboy methodology is, if we can't fix it, just remove it!
Can't find the file CoreUnitGroupingTypes.xml? I don't want to change the core units, just build a medic (single unit). I tried to upgrade the Pioneer (single unit) but doesn't work. The modding seems very limited if you can't even change little things like this.
What file is this in? Thanks!
I want the ability to build single units back! Would love to see the ability to promote units into hero's, is this possible?
Elemental right now is kind of boring, no randomness, no flavor to factions and/or magic. Research - bring back some randomness to research - increase cost, at a certain level all research cost the same, I'm currently at 20 turns for any research. Factions - Add some flavor to factions, taunts about family members, after attack destroying resources<
Wait for FE, WOM is now just boring, there is no magic to it, has about as much flavor as plan white bread.
They never could get boats to work, so they removed them, so there are no harbors!
Prestige broke, nope, it's just useless now once you build a few cities.
The game seems to hardly improved at all, except for stuff that's been removed! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Units heal in friendly territory or in cities doesn't help when your army is being attack by multiple stacks of enemies and you face one combat after another with no chance to heal. The issue is, if you can heal during combat than you should be able to heal at the end of combat.
Why can't you heal units after combat, that's just dumb! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Is there a way to upgrade existing units, I'm not seeing anyway to do this? I hate that I have to disband, then build a new unit when better weapons/armor comes along.
Beta version or not the game should be a lot more stable by now, there just isn't any reason to put out another untested/buggy version of it. I do hope 1.2 will be a stable version, I've not seen a version of the game yet that didn't crash, run out of memory or slowed to a crawl late game! That even doesn't include the ton of minor bugs or lack luster AI. I would like to try mods but, don't use any mods because the game is still unstable, nobody should be using mods for a beta version anyway.
I've never seen a game so unstable/buggy, even after almost a half year of patches. What's really going on, is the game engine so broken that Elemental will never work right? Even with all the time and resources Stardock is putting into the project, Elemental is just slightly more stable than it was back in September. Is there a date for a stable version of Elemental?
I would have liked to have seen a more expanded CRPG elements in Elemental WOM with increased champion/character interactions and some dungeons. Now, I hope we don't end up with two broken incomplete games vs. one fixed/completed expanded one! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
1.10 - The game is now more balanced but, still buggy as hell (crashes, slow downs, very poor AI, and lots of minor bugs)! Sad to say, quality and testing don't seem to be a priority or strong points at Stardock.
