I remember opening this thread before any replies and trying to guess what percentage would be correcting the obvious mistake in the original post. Or commenting on said corrections.
Cool and kinda scary at the same time. While looking forward to cool new stuff, there is a little fear that some of the bits I like might be ditched.
Totally agree. But it's still neat.

Interesting. I haven't messed around with crystal or shards much. I really need to try new game styles. I've finally decided that I'll give magic a try instead of just having tons of archers. heh Also, I always forget to get married until around turn 150.

well this thread was either prescient or more productive than expected
The most important is food, then getting a gold and a lost library. After a bit food becomes pointless, and gold less so, and tech becomes the most valuable. I spread out picking up resources as I go, hiring heroes and summoning various summon creatures (whom I send out with the hired heroes) to pick up loot from abandoned wares and to go on quests. Also to fight and level up. I try to level up Civilization first (and most) so that I can get pubs and inns so my cit

It's nice to have tank-types suck up all of the counter-attacks, or let catapult dump their load before I spend mana. That said, with initiative, it would make sense to use mana to get rid of any problems on the op
So then what did you mean by saying "Isn't it discrimination ?"?
I understand what he's complaining about, but it seems an awful lot like complaining for the sake of complaining.

What's wrong with... you know, installing impulse? I can hardly take you at you word as a gamer if you refuse to try the best version of the game. I don't know any gamer anywhere that REFUSES to play the best version of a game. Seriously. Edit: Upon reading some of these other posts. Nevermind. Clearly, I am in the minority in this thread as someone that just doesn't care. Though I will never buy a game that requires activ
Um, this all sounds great. Wouldn't mind trying the beta 1.1. *shrug*
Right now people are still having memory leak issues. I would suggest something with 6-8 gigs of ram so that you can safely use the crash fix to grant elemental more memory. This changed my game from crashing in a hundred turns are so, to never crashing. Unfortunately on 32 bit systems I think you are just stuck dealing with crashes.
I haven't had a problem with crashing in a bit, but how do you implement this
The problem, Kalin, is that you don't always get your first gold mine for some time. Edit: Oh, a larger amount of money to start with. That would take care of the problem.
I love this thread. Apparently, WoW Cataclysm comes out 12/7. Anyway, even if Blizzard did naughty things to SC2... I wouldn't know, didn't feel like playing it, I will definitely be getting Diablo 3.
I have said this before, but since the frog hasnt listened yet, I will repeat. The number of people in the world is limited. All empires are in essence "fighting" for the same people to join them. If there is a pool of people that will be attracted to cities each round then prestige will be very important. Each city will produce prestige, but for each level the prestige raised exponentially: Level 1: 1 prestige, L
I don't like the free unit idea. Kids inherit some of their parents traits, which means finding a good spouse is supposed to be important. There just needs to be a way to access a lot of heroes at once rather than being forced to deal with the ones wandering around. Like a tavern that has one random, rotating NPC every few turns. Wait for the right match, hire them, boom.
That could be a secondary use of the pub... though that takes a wh
Funny, it made me think about how important a REALLY high attack rating was :P
It's been mentioned before. I've never lost a spouse, but remarrying should be an option. I wonder if/when it will be.
That has not been my experience. The last couple of sandbox games I have played (v1.09) have been a constant struggle for food. Food and horses seem to be the most rare resources now followed closely by ore.
Use caravans and have all caravans go to (and from) your food cities. The longer the distance the better (as long as the route is relatively safe from monsters).
not sure it matters... I started a game yesterday and now have a surplus of like 30 food. Probably the caravans need to be nerfed before food restrictions really matter.
