Sounds intriguing. I appreciate that you are trying to do something different with this one. Also, $20 seems like a fair founder's price.

Hey all. I'm the author of that article. I'm glad to see that some of you have enjoyed the article and felt it was worthwhile. While it is impossible to cover every single aspect of such a huge game, as Fallen Enchantress really is, I tried my best to include nearly everything someone would need to know about the game at this stage. I realize that modding is a large part of what Fallen Enchantress is for some people. As someone who was the primar
Hell, in 914 i was using pillar of flame and tidal wave to control my territory
Is Tidal Wave doing damage in .915? I used it several times and it didn't seem to do anything. I even tried it one time on Fire Elementals thinking it might work well against them, but other than the animation I didn't notice anything different about them. 0 health lost.

I agree. Research times and building production times are too slow in the early game. It leads to too much end turn click spam for my liking. I'd also be in favor of giving all the sovereigns scouting or some type of pathfinding. Either that or give a starting scout unit in addition to the sovereign so we have more to do at the start.

I encountered the same splash/sweep damage issue in my current game. Ran into 3 slags that all had the sweep ability. They clustered around my hero and actually did most of the work for me. Each sweep attack was hitting their nearby slag for about 90 while my hero only took 10 or so. There is definitely an issue there.

Just a quick thought I've having... What about if each army's designated "leader" (champion or regular unit if no champions are present) had a "leadership" value that indicated the power/number of units he can command in that stack? Ex. Hero 1 has 100 leadership at level 1. Hero 2 only has 80 leadership, so is not in charge of the stack. At level 1, hero 2 costs 50 leadership to keep under control. A single stack of 5 Spearmen at level 1 costs 10 leadership. Ma

List of bugs/unexplained things I have encountered thus far: Champion Traits: Evoker and Evoker II both seem to offer the same bonus (50% more damage with spells). No benefit shown (tooltip wise) from upgrading to Evoker II. Affinity ability properly reduces spell costs in the tooltip during battle, but it does not seem to work that way in reality. For instance, I can not cast spells costing 15 mana according to the tooltip even though I have 19 mana availa

Anyone who has ever done programming has some basic idea of how fun bug hunting, and squashing, can be. Good luck, I wish you guys the best. Looking forward to 1.1, but go ahead and take your time getting the kinks ironed out first.
That great news. I haven't played Elemental since October (busy I suppose), so I am expecting a totally new game when I play 1.1
My date last played is in September. I suppose it's a good sign that I'm still stopping in here to check on the progress from time to time though. I do hope the game is a lot more fun to play then it was last time I started it up. I'll be standing by for 1.1.</p

The 1.1 changes sound excellent and the secrecy surrounding the first expansion has intrigued me. I was quite letdown and deflated following the original release, but at least thus far it seems you are committed to turning this game into something truly great. Thanks for the update.

The plan of attack is looking very sound. As long as you execute well, I feel I will be a very happy camper in the coming months. Thanks for the update.

I expect this will be addressed in one of the upcoming expansions. The dynasty screen indicates the order in which your children should take over the kingdom, so I think it is just a matter of time before this is implemented.

I took several patches/weeks off from Elemental after release and only this weekend decided to dive into it again. I am happy to say I was able to play a medium size map with 6 opponents from beginning to end! I'm not going to say everything went flawlessly, because it certainly didn't, but thanks to the recent patches I was able to play and actually have fun with the game for the first time. Stardock has made a lot of changes since 1.0, and the game certainly plays quite a

The included autosave was created right before a tactical battle where I am being attacked. This battle crashes every time right after you start it. I am going to see if I can auto-resolve to get around it... but hopefully it helps you troubleshoot the issue. http://drop.io/ugpryfi

I'm fine with battles being MoM styled, but the fact remains that the current tactical battles (and combat in general) are boring. Magic is still boring. The current poll seems to agree right now with the Magic system, The general combat system (not quite sure how this is different than the tactical battle system, but I digress), and Tactical Battles being the three areas topping the chart. Until these things are fixed I will not feel like I got my money's worth. There
I'm actually wanting to do a lot of that. The main thing that's been keeping me from doing custom skills and abilities and stuff right now is, honestly, all the balance issues the game has. I want to wait until the Stardock Team has things balanced out the way they want it first with damage values and all that. THEN I'll work on making skills and spells and things like for the base game. Having cool super weapons and skills is awesome

All communities devolve into this over time. It is the nature of the internet and is the reason many, I daresay nearly all, the big name developers out there do not interact directly with their game's community. It is very hard to please everyone and when a launch has as much drama surrounding it as Elemental's has, people feel even more inclined to make their voices be heard. As a patient owner of the Elemental War of Magic Limited Edition, my advice to Sta

I was in the same boat as you guys when I played the campaign before all the patches. I'd hoped it'd been fixed... but it appears not. Just keep going up the left side ocean until you can land behind the gated wall that is blocking your northern force. Land on the beach there and touch the fire shard to unlock the gate. Just forget Gilden exists and the campaign will progress.

The magic system changes sound quite interesting. If you also manage to make the spellbooks a little more diverse, I think you are the right track to fixing that whole system. The AI is another area that needs work and you plan to tackle it. I'm sure this will be ongoing, but it good to have you back in town to look into it. Game Mechanic changes is kind of a vague goal, but I'm sure you've read the feedback from the many well educated posters that are a part of th

It's great to see that Stardock is finally realizing that Elemental has flaws, and in many cases, major issues. It is a big step to admit that you were blind to your games flaws. It will be a much bigger and more time consuming one to correct the mistake. My issues start with the core gameplay. Obviously, I fully expect Stardock to correct technical issues, gameplay bugs, and UI issues (including far more explanations of what things actually do). For that reaso
