Hey, i posted some of these ideas in other forums. However, Id like to post here as well to see what people thought. These would be relatively easy to implement (i think). All in all, I love how the game is shaping up post 3B. I honestly dont see myself buying any other games for awhile. Im not putting too much about tactical battles as there is already an active thread on that. I like the current 'imbue' system, as well as the 'essence potions'

Anatar 11, Thats not exactly what i meant- it would include what you mentioned of course. at a high level, a good 'general' hero could have the ability to start out surrounding your opponent, have your cavalry start out at an opponents flank/etc. It also could have a Tactic Skiill 'comparison', so the better general can see the placement of opposing forces. Would this be overpowered? Sure. But it would be like Gene

oh, and i remember reading somewhere that there would be an advantage to soldiers being on foot as opposed to mounted....cant remember were i saw this. Could this still be the case? Or will it simply be a cost thing?

Remember in your ideas guys to 'keep it simple stupid' :). Some of us arent as smart as you all and although the computer can calculate it, a simpler system HELPS underestand it better. 1) first, to answer this: (bold is quote) Action points = Move Number of action points it takes to move one tactical tile = 1 Number of action points it takes to attack once/cast a spell once = Action Poi

@sean w: I know what you mean about a living world. however, the spawn seems.....asymmetric? of the huts. This gets frusturating 2/2 all the huts being in a certain location (like a prime city spot). We can raze other cities.....but cant burn that inn down? why not :(.

Ok, so i've put a bunch of hours into 3B so far today. here are my thoughts so far.... (and sorry Stardock, ive been having fun!!! [e digicons]:P[/e] BUGS: Crash to desktop with caravans enering cities (especially foreign cities) Have to make a spell a 'favorite' in order to use it in combat. unable to make 'hurl boulder' a favorite at all animation issues with Gilden (my guys had inverted torsos) NO BABIES!!!!! For some

right now pacing is huge. Im finding that in able to afford even PARTIES of units, i have to build up to level 3-4 cities, and my armies do not seem to match that of my poplualation (when i have over a grand of people working for me, and I have like 15-20 soldiers total +5 champions....

Some notes so far on the pach: The Good: CITY LEVELS! AWESOME. This makes city building more intersting/more city specialization. Maybe add other bonuses besides +30% over and over again....ie first +30percent gold, then maybe increase funds from trade, and after that (high level citys) get a merchent champion? Unit design: like the changes in weapon stats. I can tackle bigger baddies earlier, making it more fun

ditto on the pioneer rush. i thought this was supposed to be a few major cities? plus, HOW does the AI do it? pioneers cost 100 gold + materials, the AI im playing against has 0 gold income...

so this is slightly off topic, but the pictures of the soverign 'carving the land' made me think of it again.... I KNOW B3 is getting rid of essence cost of most spells, and I KNOW that essence cost makes things less fun. However, these spells are really strategically incredibly powerful, especially if you make use of choke points. Suddenly opening a back door to a previously uninvadable territory... OR walling your empire off from any possible invad

I saw an earlier post and liked the idea of capturing heroes. This mechanic could work two ways: a) Surrender: A surrender mechanic before a battle were a champion might be outnumbered/outgunned, and surrenders to the opposing forces. This could allow a further game mechanic, were you have the option to ransom back captured heirs (ala Game of Thrones...Jamie anyone?) and heroes. This could ALSO lead to other interesting mechanics, such as an opti

Although im working through 2B, it is somewhat unplayable due to CTD, as well as no being able to build on shards. Some ideas for spells (high level?) Imbue Self: Lose chunk of essence to double physical stats, increase size of soverign 1.5 times-2 times. (ie use up magic to make yourself uber powerful in combat Blood to Power: Lose constitution/strength to gain essence Dark Ritual: Sacrifi

Alright, before I get flamed, I've been assuming so far that all the backstory we see is created for the single player campaign, were these civs will start small but end up BEING what there descriptions are. I dont know, i'm a newcomer and could be wrong.

kyogrel, diplomacy is currently disabled. BUT if you click on a town, then click on the landscape it has some 'basic menu options'... ie there are pictures in your lower lef hand corner of resarch, design, kingdom....and two hands holding for diplomacy. Click on that. Now there are no 'real' diplomatic options avialable BUT the 'dynasty' option. click on dynasty, then arrange marriages....and ABRA CADABRA (sorry ive had a few bee

I know. thats why I told him to 'not wake the dragon' :) I got the reference. I guess what I was trying to say as you get more and more offspring, eventually eveyrones going to be pretty inbred. Im just asking for options to NOT be inbred. Illegitamite children, ala Jon Snow, would be neat but i dont know how that would work out, might get things too complicated.

I posted earlier today about my 'dynasty looking like a telephone pole'. In my current game, ive been abusing the heck out of the dynasty system, marrying aunts to nephews, brothers to sisters, etc. Now, this isnt a problem in itself....im getting quite a chuckle out of it. BUT this does limit marriage options if one doesnt want to marry his or her first cousin. This leads to a few suggestions... 1) Penalty for Inbreeding: Ok, fa
