My dynasty looks like a telephone pole....

Fyi, it is currently possible to marry a brother to a sister in the dynasty stystem.

In my current playthrough (Altar), one of my 'grandsons' stayed with me and a 'grandaughter'  swore allegiance to tarth.  This was a brother sister pair, and then i promptly set up a wedding between the two, who are now both married.

Itll be intersting to see the children- will the game recognize them as two couples or as one?

lol, That's awesome.  They should start to mutate into orcs or something as the inbreeding continues.

Alright so it doesnt end there.....ive been able to marry aunts to nephews, more brother-sister marriages, etc.  Pretty rediculous.

Currently, doing so can slightly throw off the '1st in line for the throne of ____' statements.  Also, My marriage between brother and sister is recognized as one couple rather than two (two couples are displayed in the dynasty screen).

The more I see this, the more I wonder about how convoluted and incestuous things become.  Maybe stardock will alow marriages to other champions/neutral cities/etc in stead of just other soverigns?

Actually, there's nothing ridiculous about it.  If that's how you want to found your dynasty, so be it.  In the series A Song of Ice and Fire, which is a major inspiration for the dynasty system in Elemental, the ruling Targaryen family was exclusively incestuous - they only married their brothers/sisters.  That's what astrath's comment in reply #2 about 'doing a Targaryen' is referring to.  It may be distasteful, but it's hardly unheard of in royal houses, and did historically lead to a frightening amount of inbreeding!

I know.  thats why I told him to 'not wake the dragon' :)

I got the reference.

I guess what I was trying to say as you get more and more offspring, eventually eveyrones going to be pretty inbred.  Im just asking for options to NOT be inbred.  Illegitamite children, ala Jon Snow, would be neat but i dont know how that would work out, might get things too complicated.

those books are pretty awesome.

Playing the beta is kinda wierd seeing 'Joffrey' as an adventurer, not as a sociopathic child

I feel rather silly asking this, but how the heck do you get your children to marry anyone, let alone eachother?

I know this isn't a particularly appropriate thread to post this, but I will anyway.  Here's a little teaser trailer for the upcoming HBO series of A Song of Ice and Fire:

kyogrel, diplomacy is currently disabled.  BUT if you click on a town, then click on the landscape it has some 'basic menu options'...

ie there are pictures in your lower lef hand corner of resarch, design, kingdom....and two hands holding for diplomacy.  Click on that.

Now there are no 'real' diplomatic options avialable BUT the 'dynasty' option.  click on dynasty, then arrange marriages....and ABRA CADABRA (sorry ive had a few beers) you can marry off hat whiney little boy who wont go to football practice to the mining, ugly orgnized leader of gilden!!! good riddance!
