Here's the Drota House construction tile. I would imagine Drota put priority in building the military portion of the house first.

Sorry, just read John_Hughes, so I changed it to another screen. Unfortunately, I'm at 34, so I can't add many more. How's this?

How's this now? Instead of barrels, I added the pile of wood, because having spare wood lying haphazardly around seems to fit their not caring about living space. It has 34 items now. Decreasing the tower size made the black pole stick out though.

Hi, How's this now? This is the Drota House. I would like to point out the living quarters are the two roughly made out "rooms", and the beds are those frames covered with sheets. I put a boiling pot to help convey the house feeling. T

Hi cptcasey, I like your idea of having goblins live higher than normal because they are typically shorter than normal. I'm not quite sure where the cave entrance is though, but I like how their houses have spears all around them. I think you chose the right looking house type because I can imagine them living there, great job. As a small idea, maybe the goblins can use wooden towers to increase their height on top of the rock face? That way, it could seem like the

Hi John_Hughes, I think your study tile looks great, and I particularly like how the chunk of rock on the right, and the grey bricks on the ground actually turn into the statue. I don't really have any criticisms, but perhaps there could be some really distinguishing addition that makes it apparent it's a study of some sort? It's great though, and those blue and yellow (I think of windows) helps me see it as some sort of "higher class" building. I don't know if add

Hi all, I thought I'd give it a shot. If I am correct, the Drota house is the housing level in the middle, meaning it goes hovel, house, then something higher (I'm basing it off Kingdoms, because that's all I played so far). This gives me some leeway to add more for "villa" level or drop to more basic for hovels/huts. Here are some pictures of what I've done so far. <img src="http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/2097/efuudrotahouse.png" alt="" width="500" height="500

I don't know if I fit the bill, but I'm interested in helping. I will probably be very slow though, if that's ok, as I don't know how my schedule will be.

Hi ElanaAhova, yeah, I wondered about when to start too, but thought after 1.1 was a good time. That would be awesome Heavenfall, let's see if we can get 5 people interested! Thanks!

I have no experience modding and I wanted to learn, so I was wondering if anyone else wanted to work together make something? Thanks.

Back before 1.1, I made a Sovereign history called "Archeologist" which spawned a Lost Library near my starting position. This was for my own use to speed up the opening game. I figured that story-wise, as an Archeologist, my Sovereign searched far and wide across wide and barren lands for one of the fabled Lost Libraries of the former age, and at last has discovered one - and that is where your game starts. Perhaps, building on this idea, each Sovereign history should hav

This might be a long shot, but I was thinking about multistage battles that could reflect the difficulty in taking a city. For example, attacking a level 3 city might involve just one battle, but taking on a level 4 city requires a battle by the city walls, and if the attacker is successful, then they have to fight in the inner city, against some sort of resistance, with maybe armed peasants = population in city / 100 (or something) armed with rudimentary weapons to give the defender on
Regarding expansions.. during my efforts to get Impulse to restore an old archive, stumbled upon the "Detect application" menu option of Impulse Choose "Games" and you see that Elemental has got 3 additional expansions planned..
I'm not too sure those are the expansions, because I have the Walmart exclusive content and it shows "Elemental: The Relic of Argynn" installed. Your population as a resource comment about it being unused is true in my experience. Although I've only played 1.09p (haven't had time to play 1.09q), I expect the issue remains unsolved. After population grows, the population limit doesn't stop me from building whatever I want if I have the materials. The idea that gold comes from population is a good idea though, and it has often been a limiting factor in whether or not to build a new study because I couldn't afford the m

Great ideas! I wonder though, if the imbuing and pulling resources from the land can be kept with mana cost like xStarfirex suggested, but keep essence for super special things like your idea for creating artifacts? I think this because there was a terraforming spell book in the beta, and I think pulling resources from the land seems to fit that category really well.

I wonder if people are interested in an "event" similar to that voting event in GalCiv II? I only played the demo, but it seems it's some kind of meeting where all the factions vote on an issue which changes the game a bit, such as having more trade routes or whatever. Of course, I may be wrong about this, but the idea might still work for Elemental. What I mean to suggest is that maybe we can add a tech which forces people to the table to talk. Initially, I thought

What does "+ Players always have a choice of a breakthrough whenever they reach a new tech level" mean? What happens if we research everything in, say, diplomacy and have only refined diplomacy (rare) and we'll get it every time?

Hi all. I'll start the post off by saying, I'm terrible at this game. I can't beat the AI on whatever the default difficulty is, but part of that is the way I play. For instance, I won't build a single soldier until I get a short sword and health packs, because I don't want to build a bunch of peasants, and then send them off to die to get rid of them. One could argue that I don't have to get rid of them, but I prefer knights, straight off the bat.<
