Well he has only 50 health haha so nowhere near as good as a natural troll. I've noted elsewhere that they seem to desert if you run out of money

When I finally got Summoning of Fire Elementals to work, I was losing gold quick because I'd recently conquered some cities. Soon I was in the red and seeing messages about desertion. My Fire Elementals (which are really trolls if you haven't tried it yet) were soon unable to be clicked, like trained units who have deserted. (their unit tends to remain as a sort of ghost on the map) I think being in debt causes even Summoned units to desert and I don't think this makes sen
Just got Fire Elementals to work. It's not only the gamepiece on the board that looks like a troll, their card "says" Troll. I'm also hoping this is remedied!
I didn't do anything intentional to cause it, I just noticed that it was happening! http://screencast.com/t/YTNiNTI4ODM http://screencast.com/t/MDA3ZDIwM2
Ohhhh it was unclear to me that essence was the maximum mana. It makes sense now that I have no mana sometimes; must be when I have no essence. And YES, essence needs to regenerate!
Yeah, I wouldn't want to be able to manufacture them for the Sov, that would be too much work.
I pretty much hate the idea of making the game more complicated. I think that if they stick to the features they already have planned, it'll be a good game.
Has anyone been able to summon a Fire Elemental? The only way I now of to get the required 10 mana points for my sovereign is to gain ten levels and apply all of my points toward mana regeneration every time, which I haven't done. Mana points (and essense, for that matter) need to be more easy to come by!
No one else testing this...?
Sidetrack, what is that structure on the top right and bottom left and why did you build two?
skdyer, it's not DONE yet, the features aren't all included. Perhaps you didn't mean it as a criticism, but I don't think I'd judge Elemental's strategic depth yet; it's not a "game" yet! I think once economy is fixed and implemented there are going to be a lot more units in the game and more battles. Battles are currently abstracted but I'm pretty sure they're aiming at turning that off once the testing phase is further along and it's less like an alpha testing, more like a
I want to make sure I'm not missing something about watchtowers: do they have any abilities other than extending your city's sight range?
And ore does work : if you want to build an army with swords, plate mail and so on, you'll take forever (even with barracks) if you don't have some ore.
Ahh, understood. Because of the way combat works right now, I've never needed units beyond Patchwork armor to defend my cities and usually don't need anyone but my Sovereign and his kids to conquer the enemies
BTW, in my beta testing I've revealed that your children spawn in a stack with you if you haven't built any cities by the time they've come of age. Check it out in my End Turn Hotkey Problem
So per Vieux's prompting, I've noticed that a couple of structures require lumber, but can still be built at a turn penalty. I'd like to see more buildings that require lumber if that's the way they're going to use it. I don't want Elemental to become Firaxis' Colonization, though. If you're going to be warehousing multiple resources, you might as well be playing Caesar III: way too complex. I think that EWoM would do better to have lumber mills provide a production
This also happens when I WIN, though. Are any of those additional sovereigns dupilcates of the default sovereigns that just appeared the next time you attempted a new game? Either way, you're experiencing some of the same problems I get on the next game after holding the space bar down until I win: https://forums.elementalgame.com/378013
Perhaps a variety of magical solutions could be implemented. Currently, Earth elemental magic can lower and then raise the land to make it clear. +Perhaps Fire could initiate a "controlled burn"? +Perhaps Wind could breathe life into them, making one square into one Ent monster?
Yeah, I hate this bug, I mostly notice it when I'm TRYING to attack an NPC. My hypothesis is that they're really just "GHOSTS", they're not "really" there. I mean, the enemy exists, but it's actually somewhere else and it's some sort of error of the game drawing it in the wrong place. Notice how when you hover your pointer on an enemy, the pointer normally changes to a crossed swords pointer? And how sometimes it doesn't? I think when it doesn't, you're pointin
No, I tried testing it
Yes, it just bug when there's "too many" huts to upgrade. Or maybe ... if there's huts in build queue ? Maybe the game can't handle change huts in build queue in houses ?
That's one of the things I tested and I found that it wasn't the huts in queue that messed it up. I was able to leave the huts in queue and raze the one's I'd built, but it didn't crash.
Ah, I'll have to look out for that, thanks VC
I've also noticed that ending the turn catches it up and Mass healing again advances your health by 20, but in that case you briefly remain 20 hp behind of course
Yeah, but for some reason not every time
I somehow have an extra pastebin link...whatever. Here's the one that was supposed to go with my last post: http://pastebin.com/2RLheFUE
The game DOES NOT LIKE IT if you refuse to set a research path and instead hold down the space bar. After half a minute the turn button on the screen grayed out. It probably means I "won", though. I can't click ok to select a research path and the game is frozen. Also tried this a second time and the turn button grayed out, but this time I WAS able to click ok. I don't think I actually got to choose a research discipline, though. Instead I received my mes
I think using the space bar to postpone decisions in one of the things that causes duplicate sovereigns and a white screen of death when you start a new things. In my last game I just gave up without winning or losing, and started a new game and these things happened again.
