It says if I do this I'll have access to dragons. So how do I do this? I've moved a Pioneer there but it says 'you cannot build on someone else's territory' but I can't tell whose territory this is. Is that how you build a camp? If you build an outpost next to the cave does a 'build camp' button show up?

Interesting thread and I think the OP makes some good points. I will say this - I love the GUI changes in SK. Finally some decent size fonts and icons. This makes a game so much more fun and playable for me. Lots of strategy gamers are over 50 and even with reading glasses and a big monitor it is not easy to read all the little bits and bobs on most strategy games. SK looks to be a huge improvement over earlier Stardock ga
I'm a little concerned about the end game getting tedious. Most 4X games can end in a variety of ways, but this is always gear up for the big battle? Every time? We shall see.
Yeah, the DLC seems a little pricey to me as well. I'll wait for the steam sale.
I start a game and the map view is on an angle. You select a city, or the build or train queue and it's top down. I right-click with my mouse and it goes back to an angle. After about five minutes of play.... the top down view won't go away. VERY FRUSTRATING. I've looked in the manual and don't see any key commands for this. PS: Another view question - I've seen videos where s
An option? A mod? Even with reading glasses on this is really hard to read.
Here's the problem I've had with this game, including WoM, for a very long time. The AI is just too tough, and that includes both monster and kingdom/empire factions. The problem lies with the fact that a lot of us players simply want to enjoy a large fantasy sandbox to role-play in, when others, including the developers, want us on-edge, sweating out every minute to "win". It's a disconnect between gameplay styles when we're
Interesting news - particularly that he is self-publishing on this venture. I hope that is the wave of the future for A-list titles. I'm sick to death of the likes of Ubisoft, EA, etc. Oh, and I've signed on to be a Star Citizen. And I recommend you do too!
But I am very wary about buying sequels (Civ V, Mount & Blade) I'll throw this out there again since Civ V seems to be the current whipping boy of strategy fans: Civilization V: Gods & Kings is one of the finest 4x strategy games ever created. That said, Fallen Enchantress is certainly not "dumbed down", and especially not compared to War of Magic.
Agree 100% on C
This might be helpful to others as well as me, so I thought I'd ask if this is correct: 1) No retail box version of the game - download only. Correct? Is one maybe planned for later, or is this straight digital only? 2) If you buy from Stardock you do not need to install Steam? Correct or incorrect? 3) I'm assuming this, but I'll ask just to get it on the record - the Steam and Stardock versio
Yeah, the release version does not require constant Internet after install.
That would be excellent news, this looks like a very interesting game. I'm waiting to hear it from Stardock, though. Just in case they've changed their minds.
This is from the stardock webpage: " Internet connection required for activation and to play." So, always on internet required? I have zero problem with an activation on install. And Steam doesn't bother me because it's offline mode works fine for me. But any single player game that wants a constant connection to the internet does NOT get my purchase
Looking very good. And I'll +1 the folks who say 'take your time'. This one has to be clean out of the gate or that's three strikes and you're out.
“please stay away from our games in the future. I consider it ready for release and if others disagree, don’t buy our games.”. Done. I will never buy another Stardock product. This is the single most arrogant, ham-handed, unbelievably stupid thing I have ever read from a game company. Goodbye.
Mass Effect 2 only has a basic disk-check for DRM. But it's a huge hit and sold two million units in it's first week of release (see link). HOW CAN THIS BE? Unless you put on limited activations, tages, starforce, steam, and required server logons doesn't your game just get pirated and no one buys it, right? The huge commercial success of this game tells another story. Too bad no one at Ubisoft is listening. Or Blizzard. Or EA.&nbs
Until impulse gets games like empire TW, Nepolanic wars, Half-Life (- Very unlikely due to steam being owned by valve, and valve created half life) and games like modern warfare 2, its likely growth at stardock will continue to increase, but by having these games, it could have grown more rapadly and would have created a better brand awareness which = more customers
I'd buy 'Dawn of

That is all changing. With the new Battle.net experience, the service and the game are now interwoven into one experience. Blizzard makes so much money from WOW books they could buy their own Island. This seems like a very cool thing. So will creative people from Random House (think how much like a software company that name sounds) be involved in the creative aspect of 'Elemental'? Sounds very promising.
Ubisoft = Fail Elemental = Yeah!
This is the coolest 'non-professional' X-com project I've seen. The original game, cleaned up and with hi-res graphics. I dloaded the demo and it looks great. I hope these guys finish this, a modern X-com would be a dream come true. Click on the 'External Link' to see their homepage with screenshots, video and demo.

Maybe I'll install the new Battle-net (after it's out and we see just what it is). I would not mind creating an account and 'authenticating' my game when I install it. But if they want me to login to their server every single time I play a single-player game then they can Bite my Shiney Metal Ass.
It can do so many things! But not more than one at a time. And it does them all pretty badly. But it can do so many things!
Any chance we can get adjustable fonts in the GUI? Please remember some strategy gamers are old. I'm 55 and yes, I wear reading glasses. But even then, it gets hard to see smaller text. I remember how THRILLED I was when I found the 'Blue Marble' mod for CIV4 that let me change the font size. What a wonderful day that was. Thanks.
