That follows along the line of X-Com. Another great game by the way. Another good idea for high birth rate and low rate of learning. just capture enemy tech and make it your own. The whole idea I was thinking of was to send your units out into the field for a long period of time so they can't get back to friendly territory to resupply. They then use the enemies weaps and armour against them but it doesn't mean that the enemies equip is any better. So long as your unit is trained to us

I didn't mean for swordsman to grab another squads gear like a spearmans troop. I was thinking with any army there is a wagon train and use that to collect better and unbroken arms. Than when you do make some spearman you can give them the better spoils or just sell tham at a marketplace. Now if you swordsman defeat an enemy swordsman squad you then can grab equipment to replace the inferior or broken equipment if you so choose. Not always better equip just not broken.
Some reason but this topic isn't showing up in the forums. Could it be a server issue or a user issue.
Was just reading a book and thinking to myself about soldiers in a squad. They all have the same armour and weapons but eventually some of these will break to wear, use and simple bad luck. While your different squads be they swordsman, spearmen, or archers when they fight any enemy squad and win will there be spoils after the battle. Not just gold but weapons weather they be a higher quality or the same maybe even lower. Will they santch them up to use as there own weapons if they break.

That is a neat idea. Having a Merlin type character would allow him to wander the world influencing events for the good of his kingdom and fellow man or the opposite if he is fallen. Another idea would be to have the channeler not even known by the normal populace. To them there is a big castle somewhere and decisions get made there every day. They are happy to have enough food and to drink at a bar. I know that might be a little harder to fit in because news of these godlike rulers m
Nice! I for one can't wait for Dawn of War 2 neither. Glad it is coming out.
I think the story telling from a mortals point of veiw is alot more in touch with what we experience. Even though we don't live in a fantasy world there is still alot of stuff we can't control in or day to day lives.
Whos veiwpoint willl it be from? Will it come from the rulers of the empire either being Fallen or Human? Or will it come from an omniscient person who knows everything about everyone? Or even will it just be a narration by an omniscient outsider who has nothing really to do with the story? Personally I would like to see from veiwpoint from one of the men in army. Maybe a sargent or a captian or even a lowly foot soldier who is just good enough to stay alive but n
Not a pic but a video explaing E.T. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4CQ-6R-QUw Not sure how to embed.
You will be able to join at the start of Beta 2. I think this is suppose to happen around Feb24th of this year. Wouldn't count on it as it is taking a while to get all the kinks worked out. Hope for Feb24. One more thing. You will be beta testing on the cloth map. No real graphics running. I think they did this so only people serious about the game will want to test it.
No not yet. Just reading his books about the "Black Company". I will look for it now. Thanks for the heads up.
Great to hear Frogboy. I think books really help to get into the game. Well for me it does. I have read few of the Warhammer 40k books and really liked it. Lots of neat Lore in those books.
Ok I will list some. Stephen Hunt The Court of Air Kingdom Beyond the Waves
Yeah a series explaining some of the lore and units would be pretty nice.
Yeah Glen Cook was a major influence on Steven Ericksons writing. His books are also pretty decent but they can be pretty hard to follow. Dust of Dreams is out now in the UK and will be out in North America this Feburary. Can't wait. The whole "Chain of Dogs" with Coltain is some of the best writing I have read. Great stuff.
One more game if it ever gets out of legal problems is "MechWarrior 5". It is gonna be awesome if it ever gets released.
I guess its just me and you Scorpiana. The other forum goes don't know what there missing out on. Whats you fav book so far? Mine from the whole series is "Memories of Ice". It is a great book and the scenes in it with the tenscrowry (thinks thats right) are hard to read because of the events and also because it is sort of enrapturing and scary all at once. The Children of the Dead Seed and how they come about is downright spine chilling. Also one of my favorite charact
I have a question about Elemental that I am curious about. Since this game is compared a little to MOM I was wondering about units , research and buildings. In MOM you only had to research spells. The rest of the game was managing you cities to build new units and buildings for mana and research. I think in Elemental you can design units, research technologies to build better buildings and units and you also research spells. In MOM it was pretty easy to get straight into the a
Any info on the upcoming book for Elemental? I always like a good book and there have been some good ones based on the lore of a game. The game Myst had some pretty good books. I read them a while ago so maybe my tastes have changed. Read alot of Stephen Hunt and Stephen Erickson like books now so I am personally hoping it will be kinda like that.
Yep. Was just playing this with DosBox. Still a great game.
Nice. [e digicons][/e] I am waiting for book 9 Dust of Dreams. I hear it clears up alot of story lines. I have 3 of Stevens Novellas with Korbal Brauch and Bauchelain and I recommend if you can find them to get them. I have all first editions and its amazing how much they are worth after a few years. Steven also released a hardcover of Gardens of the Moon and I might get just to have if I have some spare cash. It will only go up in value. </
Just wondering if there is anyone reading the books and what they think of them. Witness [e digicons]8|[/e]
His first book was one of his poorer books. The next two books "Chain of Dogs" and "Memories of Ice" are really good. Definately give it another try.
Nope would like to help out if possible. If it crashes better to find the bugs now than on release day. I play alot of games and would like to help out on this one. Been waiting years for a gmae like this to arrive. I will do all I can to help.
