You must be somewhat sadistic to post such screenshots... xD
I'd rather have troops able to run away : in medieval battles there were more disbanded and retreating armies than exterminated ones. Those who ran could wander in the land with a very low morale for some time before they get back to their leader's control, a disbanded army can make plenty of bandits (deserters) and trouble, but rather easy to exterminate because they are scattered and not organised. A champion with morale bonus could for instance be able to rally them and make the army a who
No copy protection is awesome!!! ^^ I mean, I have games just UNPLAYABLE, like for instance two worlds, which you need to re-activate a dozen times a year by forum PM... (because online and telephone activation no longer work! unbelievable...), because of copy protection (which you have to do all over again everytime you change ANYTHING on the PC), to the point I would not even buy a potential Two worlds II if it was with the same system >< (I can also mention half life two, eve
I find the choice for the pose and background painful the way it currently is >
I crashed once because of "out of memory" error, but could load autosave well and finish the game :) very stable in my opinion
Most of the children stats seem quite random, except for the traits : children of the same gender as the ruler have the exact same traits, others have none. Couldn't it be a little more random about that too? Like a chance to inherit the leaders traits, and chances to get brand new ones. Is there any other way to get married than completing the damsel's quest? Could it be possible to marry offspring with recruited heroes and let their children get traits from both parents? :p (a
Here is mine :D Hope I did nothing wrong > name Eloy christophe
Being able to create our own races (like elves, orcs, ...) would be just great, I agree with your decision. But would the computer take advantage of their traits and be able to play them properly too? For instance if one creates races like orcs, elves, dwarves and all the middle earth races for a middle earth like game, will the AI have some clues about how to play them? for instance can we also chose a few behaviour traits like "aggressive", "defensive", "expansionnist", "territorial
I failed to defeat the vilains in quests and the yellow lairs disapeared. The problem is I also failed with the "marriage" quest and hence didn't get the leader married :/ the problem is the quests still seem to be "undergoing" and, being limited to 3, I cannot take any more. So, no more quests and no dynasty if you fail at early quests ??
My bad, I didn't know it was planned ^^ thanks for the information ;)
Wouldn't it be cool to have an item vault, wether in any capital city, or thanks to a specific building, allowing to store items we don't need and to let other champions, siblings and all get what they need? So far I haven't found any way to exchange items between characters, which is a pity as the same heroe may have the same item several times, or items I'd rather use with someone else. The vault would also be nice to store the items until someone can use it. If the le
One thing I do regret about items is the fact that you appearently can't give them to another heroe. For instance, if you loot an extra sword, which is useless since you already have one, you can't give it to your siblings or hired champions, who may only wield knives... (at least I couldn't find how xD).
The intro that amazed me when I was but a small kid watching his father play video games : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ru6Fndq6uks&feature=related The game's name was "Epic", and indeed the soundtrack was Epic, and so were the game graphics, back then. I remember we launched the game just to watch it again xD I still remember it, years later, even though I played many many many games since then.&n
I tend to think the game industry was a lot more imaginative in the early ages of computing, on Atari, Amiga or even on the 386/486 : there was nothing before, so everytime they made a game, it was original! Many games from this time didn't fit today's categories of STR, RTS, RPG, etc. Today's games are fancy and cost a lot more, but they lack true originality because they keep using the same patterns that did well before. Games are more commercial and less fun. For that reason I tota
Good news as it seems that in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 the bug doesn't seem to happen anymore ;)
I played a game of more than 400 turns, and a few others a bit shorter, so I had plenty of children. It seems the leader gets married by age 30. It aged beyond 90 (and so did his wife) but didn't die. I think my eldest son grew a white beard around age 50, which I think he didn't have at first, but I'm not sure... Children become heroes when they grow up, but their stats are rather low (by the time I had some, my other units had 16 defense xD so "3" seems incredibly low...) an
I agree that it's hard to get over 3rd population cap even with many food resources (or especially when you have many, as harvesting them takes 4 tiles each!), if you build anything else than houses (especially 4 tiles buildings xD). A city should have more available tiles to build or houses should host more inhabitants, I think. And I'm not sure you need resources to be adjacent to harvest them. I did harvest one that was 2 tiles away from my city limit (orchard). Even
Well I've played some more and it seems a bit random. It happened that during a turn the unit didn't multiply, then I began to hope it was over, but it did again the turn after... it did that in quite late game, rather randomly. amongst the "fake" units (the deleted ones that still show) some seem to remain "half-active", one (the very first copy of the leader) kept being activated with TAB while it had been deleted, and I could redelete it endlessly with no result, and another one (3
Well, if knew how NOT to reproduce that xD It does it just all the time, in all games, with all units for me... hard to know what to do for you to have the same as there seem to be no trigger. I have default options turned on, I launch a game as default. The very first game I played was with a custom leader and race, but then I tried with default leaders and races with the same results. I noticed a few more details about that bug : My soverei
Does the exact same with regular units
Oh I mistyped the title it's 0.295 not 2.095 and sorry about the image link... no preview option and need a reason to edit, but you can still see it if you copy/past the url part :p
Unit stacks (tested with heroes and their offspring only so far) seem to randomly multiply... you don't notice it until you move the stack, then one unit moves, but it seems to stay too! and actually iy does... just any tile may very well (but not necessarily) have it's unit copied. If you stack them, then they appear like stacks, but until then it always looks like there is only one unit, while there can be up to four! It does it everytime, with any heroe (custom or not) and their ch
I hope that in retail there will be a toggle icon on the UI to switch between cloth map and real map instead of having to go to the options screen everytime xD (this is but a detail, but it doesn't look confortable, especially when you intend to shift pretty often xD)
To those who think that women characters should have lower stats in order to be more realistic : then we should also remove magic, dragons, beasts, the fallen and well... stop the game xD The purpose is not to be realistic but to be funny... for every player, including female players! If women were to have stats different from males, then they should also have bonus (for magic for instance?), and then it could be funny if it was the exact opposite for the fallen (females stonger
