[0.295] [bug] multiple heroes

heroes multiply abnormally

Unit stacks (tested with heroes and their offspring only so far) seem to randomly multiply... you don't notice it until you move the stack, then one unit moves, but it seems to stay too! and actually iy does... just any tile may very well (but not necessarily) have it's unit copied. If you stack them, then they appear like stacks, but until then it always looks like there is only one unit, while there can be up to four!

It does it everytime, with any heroe (custom or not) and their children. And it seems they cost money and ruin the economy xD You recognize the orginal heroe because it can't be deleted, that's how I can say the original unit moves first. You can delete heroe's copies but even though it is actually deleted, it still appears on the map, causing it to be spammed and making it hard to make the difference between real units (that keep growing xD) and deleted ones :s it's a real problem when you lose many gold coins/turn and need to find the unit stack that overgrew and became overcosty amongst those already deleted and thus unclickable...

The only way to prevent it from happening seems to let the leader in garrison in a city.

I have windows7 home premium.

EDIT : noticed copies had different names (numbers following original name) and added a few screens as examples.

RE-EDIT : it seems the bug does not happen any more when the game is launched in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3!

Oh I mistyped the title it's 0.295 not 2.095 and sorry about the image link... no preview option and need a reason to edit, but you can still see it if you copy/past the url part :p

I was unable to reproduce that. Can you give us exact steps to try to get the same bug ?

Well, if knew how NOT to reproduce that xD It does it just all the time, in all games, with all units for me... hard to know what to do for you to have the same as there seem to be no trigger.

I have default options turned on, I launch a game as default. The very first game I played was with a custom leader and race, but then I tried with default leaders and races with the same results.

I noticed a few more details about that bug :

My sovereign does not seem to have a star foot (unlike ennemy ones) is it normal?

Copies of units have a slightly different name : for instance a unit called "Something" will have copies like "Something9" or "Something7-9" or even "Something8-10-11" (see screens)...

a stack of leaders!

leaders everywhere

I have had that problem as well, though with normal soldiers, and not all the time (just rather often).

Well I've played some more and it seems a bit random. It happened that during a turn the unit didn't multiply, then I began to hope it was over, but it did again the turn after... it did that in quite late game, rather randomly.

amongst the "fake" units (the deleted ones that still show) some seem to remain "half-active", one (the very first copy of the leader) kept being activated with TAB while it had been deleted, and I could redelete it endlessly with no result, and another one (37th copy of the leader) while not active with TAB got "killed" every single turn by a spider.

here is the debug.err for that more than 400turns long game : http://pastebin.com/aXEHmYGN I tried to delete copies everytime they appeared, except for the 1st and 37th which wouldn't completely disapear xD

I also noticed that with a "unit stack" only the "leading unit" would get a copy.

Good news as it seems that in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3 the bug doesn't seem to happen anymore ;)
