I'm happy Stardock is dropping multiplayer support for FE in favor of devoting more time and resources to the overall experience. I generally dislike TBS MP; I doubt I would've even tried it. Now, for FPS and RTS games I love human opponents, just not for TBS.

That's an awesome tactical battle map. I wonder how he ended up in the Colosseum?
Looks good overall. However here on the forums, these grey bars where the reply and quote buttons appear don't look pretty. They contrast too hard with the rest of the site. They should be darkened by like #666666 or replaced with something else entirely. Also the bid space at the top may look pretty, but scrolling past it for every thread is just annoying. Get rid of it, or put an anchor point at the beginning of OP&#39

The screenshots look awesome. It does look like the tactical maps take at least some inspiration from the location on the strategic map at which the battle takes place. For example, I would guess the bottom screenshot is of a battle taking place at a city. Is this in fact the case?

Now that you've introduced unit based turns it is difficult to see why they haven't appeared earlier in games. Like Frogboy has said, unit based turns offer much more depth than player based. I'm really looking forward to playing the beta.

I run 64-bit versions of Windows and I do play games. I'd be excited to see 64-bit games because I want to see what developers can do. It certainly wouldn't be my only point of consideration; I'm not going to run out and buy a 64-bit game I have zero interest in. But it may push me over the edge.

I only bought Stardock games on Impulse so I have zero need for it now that you can get all their games directly from them now. I like Gamersgate a lot. There's no client or anything and no limits. I like Steam for the social features.

But if getting married has no effect than why would it be included? It's just a feature that has no purpose. If there were no offspring from or effects of the marriage I don't think it helps immersion at all. A full fledged dynasty system would be cool but I fully agree with their decision to scrap that and focus on other features. Of course, a hybrid monster of FE and CK2 where you can control a dynasty of channelers as you try and expand your rule would be awesome.
So how much longer until digital distribution cuts out the need for a publisher? Especially for PC only titles.
I think one of things Frogboy was trying to say was that you can't cut out the publisher entirely. Even if the publisher no longer has to produce physical media they still play an important role in game development.

I really liked the post. It's interesting that the divide between the publishers and developers is so important even if they're part of the same company. And if the examples given are indicative of the kind of feedback this system is giving you on the game prior to the beta than I think it was an excellent move.

Cool. I think having the spells coming from champions is a really cool mechanic. It makes champions more valuable and makes magic have an added air of mystery; you have to depend on the knowledge of other heroes instead of researching them all like technology.
Hello there. I also enjoyed reading your review (although at times I found it a tiny bit too verbose -- I mean this merely as constructive criticism! Sometimes less could be more, but that is merely my opinion.) You did a good job, only very few typos. I have a couple of questions, if I may. I am still one of those people who are greatly inhibited by what seems to be a very hefty pricetag for this game. Hence: 1. I h

It seemed to be a thorough review. I enjoyed the first expansion and it sounds like Legends made it a lot better. I don't think DW will ever command a large fan base though. It doesn't have flashy graphics and it has very deep, complex gameplay. I don't mind the graphics and enjoy the complexity but I don't think it's a recipe for mainstream success.

That and FE are the two games I'm really looking forward to.
