Yea ... the "more appealing way of life" bit is what I always thought Civ 4 cultural conversion was about. Sort of like how, although China was taken over many times (even by non Chinese) it always remained as Chinese culture ... well, until Communism came, but even now the Chinese culture isn't completely dead ... merely forgotten and on a slow revival. Meanwhile Taiwan is still heavily influenced by traditional Chinese culture. So, for thousands of years (in between the Yellow-River

Well ... I don't see it as a big problem. I mean, if you want all cities to look the same, then you will inevitably miss out on some opportunities. Plus, mines are fairly late-tech ... or at least you generally can't access too much metal until fairly later on. A "Cache of metal" event will give you 2 metal soldiers, maybe 3 if you spread it out (or 1 if its a late tech suit of armor). Mines, in their own right, are fine for me. Try not building next to the mine initially, and then bu

Well, I was pretty sure it was the Humans that had higher pop-growth rates ... its simply that there are MORE living fallen at the beginning of the game than humans ... eh? In any event, truly great idea I really like that, even more than a basic play style ... there is actually a visible reason to have a mass horde of soldiers vs highly trained and leveled elites backed by a mass of weakling peasants.

Yea, the aggressor would have to start out with a sizable army near your borders (as in occupying a city that is near your borders) before the AI would want to start bullying around a player. Similarly, when a player bullies the AI, the AI would look at potential allies (diplomatic situation) as well as its own overall military power vs their perception of your military power. This second event could be aided by bringing a sizable force within an area you KNOW is within their LOS xD</

Yea ... the last post did make the Empires sound a lot like Jagang's Empire of Men (lol) I like it, its a cool spin on things (The large qualitative differences between Empire and Kingdom)

Please post only yes or no (or keep post very short and choice clear) I vote ... YES! Bring on Beta 2!

Well, currently in the Beta 1Z4 there is a slight attack-speed decrease for large or heavy Armor and Weapons. Thats a pretty cool decision as far as I can tell. Now, as far as terrain type/height modifiers for variouis equipment ... not sure.

Well, Champion-led Nations would have a very Viable option to "Vassalize" to a Kingdom or Empire. Their production wouldn't be controlled by the player, but all other actions could be controlled (kind of like a "permanent ally" in CIV). Of course, while the level of cooperation is high ... their vassalage isn't necessarily permanent. The Champion gets assasinated? Nation goes rogue. Champion dies and leaves city to an heir owned by another player? City goes to the other player. In thi

Yea, I think (hope) that the 15 stat limit is only cause they wanted our NPCs. Hopefully that will not be a real limitation for Sovereigns ( I am hoping 20 point limit), also the idea to have stats after 15 cost 2 points (instead of one) would be cool. In this way, it costs extra to get a truly *max* Champion of any particular trait. And yes, it would probably be better if most bonuses/penalties were empire wide vs single city (and greatly increased in a city you happened to be in). A

Isn't Demigod ... practically MP only? What I mean by that, is that it is only arena battles and has no story. Correct?

Lol ... this feels like a massive game of Fall From Heaven 2. Either you all dogpile on the leader, or there will be a winner very soon (ie closed platform).

Guildsmen of Coin (financier), Magistrate of Mana (magic), Minister of Knowledge (sage) I like the idea of focusing on People instead of Buildings for the economy, as well as having Statues be the main contributer of prestige. (too bad the empire can't have decadence tho) What I wonder, is how we would breed such "great people" ... like if their are GP points ripped from Civ 4, or if breeding costs resources in some way (like Starcraft's Zerg). Also, I s

You must be thinking of the continuous turns Tactical Battles. The Strategic map, however, does not have any iota of real time (other than multiplayer having turn timers, and the potential for simultaneous turns)

Yea, this is very low on priority, heh However, Visual distinction between your soldiers and their soldiers is a much higher priority, just that the distinction be made in some way.
