Just posted my opinion, didn't mean to troll or start flame wars. In the future I will agree or shut up. I'm kinda new here so I'm still learning...
I am tired of people who dogmatically declare that because games run fine on their computer, those who experience problems must have "really bad luck (or crappy system[s])".
I would say they are crappy at using their computer and learning from earlier experiences. If you want to be a PC gamer you need to be a bit more interested in how computers work and good at problem solving. It's not a console.
Why? if there is anyone in the book that should be playable during the war of magic, I think it would be Tandis. Maybe my thinking is backward...but that makes more sense to me than the others.
If your sovereign is basicly immortal the game wont be much fun I think... But yeah you are right, it is the other characters that shouldn't be playable if you take the timeline seriously. :)
Why isn't Tandis one of the playable characters? The guy kicks a high quantity of Fallen arses in pretty much every chapter of the book...
And now that I have actually finished the book, I realize how stupid it would be to be able to play Tandis... during the war of magic, especially... *facepalm*

There's a PC for people who are clueless, it's called Xbox. Available now at a store near you. [e digicons][/e]
Although the Intelivision was pretty cool in its day as

The backstory is fine, it just needs to be fleshed out and be made a more important part of the game. The book and the campaign give it a good starting point, it just needs to come out in the game more.
Yes, after reading the book I realized how much backstory there is. Too bad nothing of it ended up in the game, exce

Is this extra content for buying the book a separate thing from the add on that comes for owning a license for EWoM prior to ? How many "specials" does EWoM have going on out there? Whats the least expensive way to get them? Is it too late for the book? i need to get a life!
The book is a separate thing. You can get it from Amazon. :)

The devs have to decide which route to go: AoW style or HoMM/Kings bounty style. Personally I would prefer AoW style with large battlefields and more wargame like gameplay. I think this would fit Elemental better than chess-style battles.

I don't agree. Yes, it can look a bit out of place when the AI builds its cities and there should be some limit to the spam, but I kind of like the idea that a small town or village pops up around valuable resources. It makes the world more alive somehow. And it also gives you more strategic options. If the AI builds a small city you can steal it, and if you build it yourself you have to defend it. And quite frankly, the "Elemental theme" is not very interesting (I'm in a wasteland an

Dude, when I was 11 and bought games for my C64 they cost like $50 as well. And when you got home, you found that those awesome screenshots on the back of the box were from the Amiga version... Now with all these new things like, say the internet, you pretty much know what you're doing when you're spending the tiny amount of $50 on a game. So stop whining over nothing! [/old man]

I'm not a big Civ fan, but I played the demo of V and enjoyed it. It is 100 times more polished than Elemental. Depth etc can be discussed forever, but to even claim that Civ V is almost as bad as elemental at launch is off-the-scale ridiculous, regardless of personal gaming preference.

Yes, towers should be buildable anywhere within your territory, and they should give a defensive bonus to units stationed in them. Other units should not be able to pass maybe in a one square radius around them. This will make it possible to build defenses at strategic locations. How about a "tower builder pack" for units so that you can design a specific unit for this purpose, similar to pioneers?
