Oh noes, you spent your day making this vid instead of getting Beta 2 ready for us... [e digicons]:(O[/e]

Silly question but... How many Mb is the update on? I'm on a crappy connection atm...
Hammerfell... What about Hammertime?! [e digicons]:andrew:[/e]
IF something is easy to steal, people will inherently, even unconsciously, reduce their view of its intrinsic value. As a result, people who can afford to buy expensive hardware, pay for their monthly iPhone bill, etc. suddenly "can't afford" a video, music, or a game because they subconsciously treat paying for it as a luxury.
Interesting point, never thought of it that way. I must admit I have pir
I would really like an August release, but they just started coding the AI and the the real beta is not yet released... I think the wise choice would be February.
Are you serious? It's a game and in games if you make a mistake you have to live with it. Have you played any games besides Microsoft Word that do have an undo button?
The Panzer general series and Fantasy wars/Elven legacy has an undo button that ONLY WORKS if you haven't discovered any new enemy units on your turn. Not a big deal I think, you get used to not having it pretty quick. And you can always load the autosave.
Very cool, can't wait to get my hands on this... Kinda fun to hear you talk about the graphics stuff we discussed. Having this kind of direct communication with devs surely is unique.
Sorry esrever, I wasn't meaning to address you quite so specifically. What I am trying to address is the general question of the graphical style. We don't like the tendancy of these types of games to be littered with "stuff". We prefer having a cleaner look both from a game play point of view as well as aesthetically.
I like tons of shit on my maps. :) I'm not whining because I'm mean, I just want this game to b

I have been burned too many times by games with great graphics and nothing else.
Well, EWoM's gfx/art style is quite unique, that's a fact....it's not for "everyone". Some people surely won't like it. Personally I like the art style, however....gameplay > gfx. So, why do you care at all?
I guess good graphics isn't for everyone either? To me Graphics AND everything else = gameplay. But I'll stop complaining until I have actually played the beta myself... Just a bit worried that this aw
The graphics style is something we very much like. Obviously not everyone will agree but those screenshots are pretty representative of what the final game will look like.
But can't you just up the LOD a bit on the highest settings? I can live with the "style", but I'm having a hard time with the undetailed big patches of grass I see in <a href="http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/14295360/elemental-war-of-magic/images/elem
The graphics are the thing that makes me least excited about this game, and I'm even afraid it will ruin the whole experience for me. While I can understand disliking a different art style, I certainly hope it wouldn't RUIN a gaming experience (edit: here's an IGN article where we lay our artistic decisions on the table...if you're interested http://pc.ign.com/articles/101/1019369p1.html) But yeah, that's defaintly the risk we
Ok, so I can understand the coolness technically with this graphics engine, but I must say the end result looks very bland. Theres just no detail! The cel-shading doesn't do it for me either, i get the feeling it is one of those things you add to cover up for the lack of details and hope that no one will notice. I'm afraid cel-shading will be "sooooo 2009" and we will all hate it eventually (I already do). The graphics are the thing that makes me least excited about
I want epic fantasy, not chicken management.
WINNER. TAKE. ALL: I would like a realistic touch here, not just win/lose. And I don't like the bonus idea much. If you have to win in N turns to get a certain bonus the result will be that you WIN or LOSE AND RELOAD until you get a win... Then it is a puzzle game, not strategy, and I don't like it. You should of course be able to flee, but get penalties when doing so. A lost battle should not...no.. MUST not be the end of the game! You may lose co
