Actually a human player wouldn't fall for the trick knowing that Mao Zedong is behind it, while the AI would fall for it EVERY time... :(
Black-Knight
Except all that (the deception idea) would only work in multiplayer and calling this trait "Sun Tsu" would mean introducing an historical name in a fantasy setting which makes no sense whatsoever.
Alright guys, this is pretty obvious but since it is my opinion that in EWOM, it doesn't work, maybe it's better to spell it out. City development takes time and resources, therefore the player needs special moments to look forward to. The very first one is the creation of a structure that allows to research technologies. The tech menu opens: WOW! That comes very soon (hopefully) so what's next? After a few turns players may be able to also get a spe
IMO EWOM will never work, but FE will be very good, but that's just a guess, so why not just give the guy a break and let him work? :)
Very good, I like all that. Maybe it's going to make the game a bit complex for people used to the usual straight forward system "bigger weapon bigger damage", but who cares. TBS are made for hardcore gamers anyway. Sounds like FE will be really interesting!
You don’t have housing in Fallen Enchantress. City Building is much more specialized Sounds great. I never got any kicks out of building the cities in WoM anyway...
Housing in WOM is just boring: you pretty much have to research 4 or 5 things in more or less the same order all the times. If you don't start with a tech researching structure for example, you end up stuck without being able to do anything, for p
You know, when they say/: "there are no stupid questions but only stupid answers?" They are wrong.
The thing you are talking about makes me think of the East India Company, which started as a trading business with India and China and became a powerful entity which owned ships and had its own private wars with other corporations of the same kind. A RTS came out not too long ago called "East India Company", no idea if it's any good, I think it was on the lines of Total War.
Anything is OK with me as long as cities don't just disappear in thin air. In general I am for a more complex and realistic approach. The Sovreign dies: The first born gets the throne. if no children survives the spouse gets the throne and can re-marry. If nobody in the family survives, the city either becomes independent (like minor factions and each gets a completely new sovreign) or get absorbed by the closest neighbour faction (meaning the distance from each city of th
There is an unofficial memory patch that allows a system to use unlimited RAM for this game. Of course that means that eventually the game still crashes, but you can play many hours before then if you have more than 2GB of RAM. No idea where you can download it from but if you look for it you should at least be able to play.
The bugs in this game will never stop to amaze the hell out of me.
No, buy the expansion this summer instead,
You need your fantasy to see the strategy.
That happened to me too, once in a very early version of the game. I thought it had been fixed, because I reported it as well. I had so many shards that the top part of the interface wouldn't fit in the screen. At this point I doubt they even know about it.
Shouldn't the son (or daughter..) of the slain sovereign succeed the throne.. or at least have some say in the matter..?
I agree, but probably it's simpler for them to do it this way, at least for this version of the game... Not perfect but better than having the enemy cities disappear! Overall I think these changes will be quite good in terms of gameplay. Way to go froggie!
Slider for determining how fate the units "appear' to move: yes. Yes. yes. BTW, I am happy with the cloth map / detail map arrangement. However, a few things that appear on the tactical map do not have an icon on the cloth map. Have cliffs /breaches been fixed to show on cloth map? Do all goodie (and not so goodie) huts now show on cloth map? I think these are the two items with which most players are concerned.
I a
There is no alien fossil, actually this is an article from a week ago but it's an old story that the NASA guys made fools out of themselves about this or other alien fossil samples: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/03/07/scitech/main20040304.shtml
I use the cloth map only to see the whole area. After playing in the 3D world, the cloth map seems.....well, kinda flat and bland.
From a flavor perspective its a really interesting idea. From a function perspecitve its much more complex than it needs to be. Integrating quests into the tech tree keeps the existing known mechanics (design consistency), doesnt require new ui, cause player confusion and effectively accomplishes the same goal (allows the player access to greater quests based on how much time he spends researching quests instead of other techs).
I like that idea too, of course if it i
I think we should have a slider that determines unit movement speed. What say you?
Elven legacy has a slider like that, but they also added the option to double click on destination to skip the animation altogether. When you have lots of units to move that can be very nice. But I would also make sure that the 3D map is a nice place to be in order to understand the surroundings.
Build your capital next to food, build a tech researching structure in it, then while you spawn pioneers like crazy research armors and weapons which will let you make a bunch of invincible heroes. If you need money research adventure (dominium if you play empire)
I would play 100% on the cloth map if it would tell me where the beaches are, the unit icons would show me troop strenght, cities would have their small info bar on it too. So... sometimes I'm forced to see the regular map. :/
Beaches look slightly different, since they are straight lines. instead on the cloth map it is completely impossible to see certain (i think very tall) mountains because they don't appear AT ALL on it!!
In an older version I had 4 wives. a new one would spawn each time a new child was old enough to be in the game. I kind of miss the old bugs, back then the game had more surprises! :P
Hey frog [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e] , make it also 'enemies with much less than hudreds hit points!' As it is now, before you kill a unit you need to (slooooowlyyy) hit him 40+ times, and since in the end the unit with the higher defense is pretty much sure to win from the beginning , all that is just boring! But of course as long as you figured out another fun battle sytem, that's OK too...
Speeding up units would certainly help, but as I said the problem is also that certain objects are hardly recognizeble on the 3D map. In any case, while it may not be considered an issue, it would certaily help the game if all the eye candies could be experienced at all times.
