The campaign is going to be much much more story driven than originally conceived. Cut-scenes between each chapter written by our friends at Del Rey.
This, imho, is by far the most promising bit.

I too am able to reproduce this bug.
Good question. I also think that the first thing one should see after a battle is an overview.
" having the square the cursor is on light up so you can see where it is" That might be good. Something needs to be done.
Well that would kinda help a little. But the better solution would be to make the square that you clicked on actually be the square you clicked on.
Have been having this problem too (on 2 different systems). And it seems to be linked to the camera angle. High angle: <img class="embeddedObject" style="border: 0;" src="http://content.screencast.com/users/Wieke/folders/EWoM%20Beta/media/ad266318-5244-4c9f-b7ea-9e1ed92d153f/Pointer_inaccuracy.png" border="0" alt="" width="317" height="302"
Big freaking YES.
Hi I suggest placing the net income/population gain behind the total gold/population, for a simple expedient overview. You know, like moste turn based game (civ, aow etc). Format could be as simple as +34 or -9 , placed a single space behind the curren
I echo this sentiment.
Hi So i start a new game, and end up in this uncomfortable position:
Hi World creation takes quit a lot of time on my computer. Which always makes me somewhat nervous, is it just taking long or has the game crashed. For that reason i suggest either placing a progress bar, some animation, or a line of text informing you of what the map script is doing (eg, "Generating landmasses". "Placing mountains"). At least add something to indicate that the game hasn't stopped working. Hope to be of help, Wieke.
I also agree this would make a good feature. Segallion
Good feature? To me, it sounds about as necessary as gravity pointing down in-game. Plus it would allow for using cover to mask your armies approach.
I've had the same issue. With the dissapearing city graphics.
Same problem, after killing a sovereign, their old units remain in place and can't be attacked. The spiders are a little stranger.. every time I move onto one, I attack it, but when they move onto me they only 'sometimes' attack. That is, I've had them attack my sovereign sometimes, and at other times they move right through him without initiating combat, or even end their turn on top of him without attacking. But I haven't (yet) seen a spider get
Just got out of bed, and i've recieved the email in the night (apparently at 1:59 AM, and last time i checked yesterday was about 1:50 am). Bloody thing downloads like crazy, 50% while typing this post.
How about using wasd for scrolling? One hand on wasd and one on the mouse feels more natural than one on the arrow keys and one on the mouse. diclaimer: haven't gotten my beta yet, so what do i know.
Just a thought, perhaps it would be prudent to sticky this thread. For future reference.
Is there any time frame known within all beta participants will have received their email? Because my credit card pulled the money from my normal account (is that the credit check?), but i haven't received the beta mail yet. And it's 11:39 PM (local time) so you can imagine my anxiety.
[e digicons]XD[/e] Ha, reminds me of this old electronic measurment device my dad had, it could do about as much as the modern hand-held onse, only it was the size of a shopping cart.
The oldest computer i've got access to is an athlon 2200+ with ati 9600 256mb and 1 gb of memory. Not sure if they sell any devices which such a low grade setup anymore. (cpu is about 10 years old) I've got a convertible tablet/laptop thingy, and i'm especially curious how well the game will run in power save mode (with the GPU running on minimal capacity). It would be great for those annoyingly long trips by train. Do we need impulse etc to run the beta, it would be verry con
Any idea if you can upgrade vista 32bit to windows 7 64bit? Because the morons at HP put a 32 bit os on my laptop with 4gb. I've been running the windows 7 beta (64bit) since i bought it.
Well assuming mid-day is around 15:00 EST, that will be around 19:00 GMT. So all us working (or studying) folk in Europe can rest assured that they probably won't miss a thing. Pity the Americans who will be working, or the people who live past +4 GMT who probably have to be sleeping, around that time.
Ah well, i thought we were going to complete the testing of gameplay elements before adding fancy graphics. But the schedule does seem to indicate otherwise.
1. Spells will have lots of flashy 3D particle effects that may not be available in the 1st 3D build. So while we may have spells by the end of Beta 1, they are likely removed again in Beta 3. They said one benifit of the cloth-map only is they can play with things without having to make expensive graphics, this is especially true for spell animations.
As has been mentioned, beta 1 will NOT be fun in any way. We are not kidding about this.
You know Frogboy, posting this schedule was way more effective of convincing my of this fact than all your previous posts about the matter. I'm am curious how we're going to test gameplay and economy without an AI opponent. What's the magic system in beta 1F going to do if beta 3b implements magical spells?
They live GMT-4 atm (it being daylight saving time) so that's 6 hours before Holland
*looks at Piderman's profile* Hé een landgenoot, cool. [e digicons][/e] @anybody at stardock. I'd just like to know if the beta will be released around a time that we europeans would call late in the evening. Which starts around 4 in the afternoon from your (stardock's) perspective.
