I've personally never found my sovereign to be weak. Wether what i'm doing is by design or by exploitation of unforseen cohesion between abilities, well i dont know. In any case it seems to me that once you get a second channeller to a reasonable level you can play spells together and nuke just about anything aslong as you have a few meatshield units. Dont forget that it is as you put it the 'mid-game', you dont know the really powerful stuff yet.

Research adventuring. Take the option that isnt reveal resources or recruit heroes. That's the long and short of it ;)
I havn't got the ones from 1.0 or the 0day patch anymore. But i guess they're not relevant anymore. Here's the collection of crash reports and dumps from yesterday. The crashes around the 200th turn are still there with 1.06 but atleast i can reload my games and eventually finish them now. link to dumps
Flashing your firmware is never a good idea. Remember if it's your card it will happen with every single application that uses 3D graphics. Which is almost everything that's accelerated, even the 2D stuff you see today is rendered in 3D via textured quads.
Hello, I've seen alot of complaints about how the game runs when it's zoomed in below the cloth map but i've not seen one about poor performance ON the cloth map. Infact i think i heard one of you say in the video tutorials that you had to code in a frame limiter just to stop the frame rate from going stupidly high and stressing the system more than it needed to. Here's a screenshot with an FPS overlay: <img src="http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/7876/elemental1282971
I believe you age slower because you're "immortal". But from my standpoint that doesn't mean you should be younger it means you just don't age if you get what i mean. You're still 50 if you were born 50 years ago even if you still have the body of a 20 year old. Back on topic: This has been suggested before, and it's not a bad idea. It'd give the entire dynasty system a real justification of its existance. Seeing as how it's currently just a method of getting th
1: Try and find some gold deposits and remember specialization is really the only option in this game, generic cities do not work. 2: Your units are strong in a group but weak on their own, this is true of everything you can make. Research logistics early on and go kick some ass. You can get it as your first tech from warfare. 3: You should expand as food and enemy activity allows. Genrally if you find a spot with a resource you badly need or with 2 or 3 resources you should n
slect your city and push X [e digicons][/e] . There's a tech for kingdom which says in the tooltip that it allows you to raze your cities but in practice it's not required at all. Have fun.
Plus I don't really want them investing in graphics unless they have the funds to do it without hurting there development team. Graphics, even crappy ones, tend to be phenomenally expensive.
Nah particles are cheap and easy. It's just an ultra low res object being spat out of a bone that's flagged as an emitter in the engine. Assuming this engine works like every other one out there. More to the point they made and implemented easy to use tools for it. you can g
The adventure line of tech features one branch that will expose more resources on the map, this can be helpful early to get more resources hooked up and bump up key resources for other growth.
Don't do it too early. It only reveals resources in your own area of influence, so if you use it with just one city you're basicly wasting your research time. It's a judgement call when to research it.
She's obviously not the most powerful channeller seeing as how i keep killing her. [e digicons]}:)[/e]
I agree it's a good game. Please please fix the memory leaks though hey [e digicons][/e] It's annoying to have to relaunch while playing the game due to "out of memory" errors.
I wonder if the ring and amulet abuse was acctually added into the balance thought process when they decided to only give you one stat at levelup? So that accessories tie your sovereign strength to how well your kingdom is acctually doing, because if your kingdom's doing badly or the AI is handing you your ass on a silver platter then you're hardly going to have the cash to power-up your sovereign with trinkets are you.
it's a typo. That would mean 900% PER SHARD! You'd never be able to miss the jump in mana. ok so 15mana, now i have a shrine ..... 135 mana [e digicons]:omg:[/e]
Weapons open you up to counter attacks and you just cant screw with your enemey in the same way you can with spells though. My fav combination when i feel like going dragon slaying is deflect and any other ability that stop the enemies next move, the earth elementals tremor works quite well and you can summon one for every one of your casters, failing that stab of ice works well against single large targets. It can't move, it can't counter attack, you can kill anything with 0
I dont know about magic being completely poor. I can decimate entire armies with just my sov, my sov's son and his wife. 40 ish man each, 20 intellect and 7 movement points. Suddenly 10 damage a turn x 3 becomes 70 damage a turn x 3, and that's over a 3x3 area. Cheap tactics aside. Magic doesn't feel powerful. I'd rather see magic do massive damage at much greater cost... with some decent particles, please fireballs make it look like my casters are throw
Quoting greggbert, reply 10I think it was a weird choice to give most of the pre-made sovs access to all of the spellbooks. THe game might be better if they limited you to only choosing 3 of those. I definitely think the spell books should cost more, the items should be cheaper and there should be more less severe disadvantages.
Agreed, i dont want a super sovereign i just want the pre
I tend to use the sovereign the same was as you use a scout in civ during the early part of the game. Pop goodie huts, uncover the map and try not to get eaten by the local fauna. Running Away, for cowards and those that just like their limbs and appendages where they are: For tactical battles Tilt the camera so you're closer to the ground, (hold middle mouse) there should be some tiles around the edge that are glowing, if you get to there you can escape and survive if
Hello, i would like to suggest that we get give a couple of buttons to toggle on/off certain pins being displayed when we zoom out to the cloth map. It would make it far easier to find resources, watch for enemies or just keep track of your own forces if you have a massive army. Without this feature you get the following which is not as useful as it could be: <img src="http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/8537/elemental1282954392.png" alt="" width="1920" height="
Quoting Tridus, reply 6 Quoting Peace Phoenix, reply 5If pre-made sovs could be micmicked with custom ones, what would be the incentive to play premade sovs? Not having to make them? What's the incentive in playing a custom one if you're automatically put at a disadvantage? Being able to choose *exactly* the stats you want is its own advantage. People can make much better decisions about what w
It's actually a major exploit btw. You can keep attacking forever and constantly get the same XP as if you killed an enemy sovereign. So this will probably get fixed in a patch.
For buffs i like deflect, it's ridiculously overpowered. It makes you immune to counter attacks soooo. Deflect, Stab of ice, repeat. In this way one of your kids (because they can have stupid mana regen) could quite easily solo a dragon.
Right now the campaign is just that one map. But from what i gather SD are going to be releasing the rest of it at a later date. And you've got about 10-20 tiles between you and the end of the map once you get off that boat.
If you get a couple of cities to level 5 you can build a tower that gives you +2 mana regen per turn in each one. It adds up quickly late game.
