A more detailed breakdown of what's actually inside the DLC would have been helpful.
The reason there is a lack of detail is simply because (as is now becoming clear) the DLC barely has any substance. I bought the first three DLC packs (items, maps, quests) because I play a lot of random maps and wanted more content during the game. When Dead World was announced I c
Waiting for extra content is fine, after all it's free goodies, but to have to wait this long for bugs to be fixed, that are preventing some people from playing their game, is pretty disgusting. I have bought every game plus it's dlc since Gal Civ 2, but in truth I will be thinking twice, three, four times before I hand over money for another StarDock title. Remember the Alawom.

* Have a slower research option. I play on "Epic" and on large/huge maps I often start to max out the tech with only half the map explored .... related is that I am constantly improving cities/units; I think there should be periods where no new tech is easily available - this would also place more emphasis on decisions made tech-wise. For example: if someone decided to research the magic tree and create henchmen/heroes with high damage spells ran
Thanks for the replies. I didn't realise you could actually choose the traits and accessories for them - I thought that was just for champions. I'll definitely give it a try now.
Just wondering about this, because I've never bothered to do it (despite over 150 hours in LH) - I just assumed using the default troops (and their upgrades) would keep my army up to scratch with the best possible stuff. Are there real benefits to designing your own troops? I like to customise my Sovereign but that's because it has a big effect on the overall strategy. Thanks for any info about this.
I have to say, I'm slightly concerned by all this. You're listening to your customers and pretty much releasing exactly what they ask for. That's just not normal in the video game world. And now I have to give you another £4, because you've released pretty much exactly what I wanted - more content.
I'm really confused about this. For 150 mana you get either +1 Attack, +1 Initative or +3 Hit Points. 150 mana isn't a lot in the mid to late game, especially if you focus on mana production, so this is an easy spell to use often. As a result I'm really struggling to see the point in spending precious trait-points on Traits which simply add 1 or 2 Attack, Initative or a few extra hit points - for a few hund
I've created a custom race, but the 'MyGames\LH\Race' and 'RaceTypes' folders are empty? I've got no idea where it is saved to, but Steam Cloud is completely disabled on my account (and has been since long before I bought LH).
I'm really confused by this. I looked at Steam and can't find it saying it's 50% off for everyone, only those who already own the game. What am I missing? I'm confused by this topic...
I've just checked and it seems to have changed now. It is £25 standard price for new buyers.
I do understand what you are saying. I bought FE through Steam at full price when it was released (I think it was about £25 - £30ish). When the Beta of LH became available it wasn't on Steam straight away (as a listing to buy) so I bought it through Stardock for $20 (approx £15) to get my Steam serial key. This price seemed like the reduced price - but I thought to myself "how do they know I already have FE?" since I didn't

I think on release LH will have a lot of content to differentiate itself.
That would be good (more monsters, her
I'm really enjoying LH, but I think it's an expansion where you really need to have played the original game a lot to appreciate the differences/improvements. I'm concerned that when it comes to the mainstream reviewers they won't have played Fallen Enchantress enough to notice the differences in LH, and this could lead to lower scores than the expansion deserves. I think the list of new features (used for marketing / game description) don't so
Beta is very nice, well worth the money. I particularly love the new level up system. Proof of this games' goodness is the fact that I don't want to go to bed... but I have to. Looking forward to playing more tomorrow night!
Downloading now. Can't wait to try it! [e digicons]:star:[/e]
Quoting forthright55, reply 2I actually want to buy it from Steam, so I guess i'll have to wait. LH uses Steamworks, regardless of where you purchase you will get a Steam key.
Thanks. I bought it from Stardock store and got my serial number for Steam. Downloading now! :)
It's not on Steam as a standard listing yet, I mean for people who aren't getting a free code. I actually want to buy it from Steam, so I guess i'll have to wait.
I'm also sitting here waiting, hopeing the game will pop-up on Steam soon. My £20 is waiting for you Stardock!! [e digicons][/e]
Thought I should post to defend the shadows. If you have a good system they can really add to the atmosphere of a game. Maybe in a strategy game they are less important than in a game like Skyrim, but they still add something. Looking forward to the beta.
I agree with all of that, however the world works in mysterious ways. For example IGN (sic) did actually give Uncharted 3 a perfect 10. Yes it's a solid highly scripted extremely linear game but it is far from perfect. So if Uncharted 3 gets a 10 then Fallen Enchantress should easily have the same.
Thank you for the replies - they were interesting to read. I did not say the game deserves 10 out of 10, and of course I don't think it does. I would however say 8 out of 10 is a very fair score, and yes I personally would give it 9/10 due to the reasons I listed in my original post. Those things matter and mean a lot to me - I think they should influence the score. I'm waiting for the IGN review... not that I value their op
To be honest a lot of these reviews and comments are really starting to get to me (not Rock Paper Shotgun in particular, but that review was the tipping point). I mean they give such praise to games with no depth or strategy - games you'll play through once or twice and then leave to gather dust on the shelf, yet when they finally get a game which can provide months of gameplay (or years with mods and expansions) they are so quick to nitpick and find fault. Yes everyone loves the new XCOM
First, I think reviewers are holding back to see what other reviewers are saying. With E:wom in the past, they are unsure how to treat FE. Maybe they don't want to stand out, be "that guy" that perhaps gave a really bad game a great review, or a really good game a really bad review?
I'm not disagreeing with you, but it would be pretty bad if this was the case. They should trust their own opinion, rather than
