The next turn I tried to move the army along the path shown, and instead it took off to the north along the road shown. I guess it decided the town was an impenetrable barrier. I'll try moving the units through the town one at a time.
Here my army wants to go cross town to explore to the east. Because in 0.86 armies can no longer travel on mountain sides, there is no way to go around this town. The army has to go through the town. But the path chosen goes almost all the way around, then crosses through the town:
Its encircled on three sides by mountains and the fourth by a gate that I can't pass. Is the impassible gate a bug or do I need to do something else?
That might be the quest area that Kael said (in another post) that he had added for 0.86 but wouldn't be unlocked until a future patch.
I agree. I'm often wondering if I've built on a resource yet because the hammer is still there.
When you select a unit, their stats appear in the lower left corner. There you have buttons to Disband, Guard, Pass, Rename. If your unit can upgrade, there will also be a button there for upgrading (note you might have to click on a "More actions" to see the Upgrade button, or it might be chopped off and show as "Upgr.." There will be separate buttons for upgrade weapons and upgrade armor. Hovering over the button will show the upgrade cost. Click if you want to
Gene Wolfe is probably best known for his Book of the New Sun, Book of the Long Sun, and Book of the Short Sun series. Since we're moving into Spring, and Brad's fancy turns to fantasy, you might want to try "Latro in the Mist" and "Soldier of Sidon", which feature an ancient soldier cursed by the gods to have no long term memory (yes, the movie Memento ripped off this idea). For more hardcore science fiction, how about Ian M. Banks or Vernor Vinge?
1. The Wild Land simply didn't register that I had defeated all of its denizens (perhaps because the code isn't counting properly, perhaps because I killed the leader outside the Wild Land itself... It was in my territory after all)
That might explain why I couldn't clear a wild lands area in my last game. I had killed a shrill lord outside it, maybe it had wondered out.
I don't know if anything related to this changed with .85 or .86, but all of a sudden I'm noticing it when I didn't on .75 or .77. Tiles that look like plains are actually hills or forests. The only way to figure this out is to mouse over them. In the following picture, the tile to the northwest of my pioneers is a forest tile, even though it looks like a plains tile. You can see in the upper right that the tile is forest: <img src="http://dl.drop
On starting a new game, you get a window that says: "There is fertile land nearby which, once in your zone of control, you can build a farm on it by clicking on it." I would suggest rewording this to: "There is fertile land nearby, on which, once in your zone of control, you can build a farm by clicking on it."
During the EWoM beta, there were many many problems reported in these forums that were never fixed. And most posts were never responded to, so I got the feeling that the developers never even saw them. I don't know for a fact that they didn't, that was just the feeling I got as a beta tester. With the FE beta, however, I see Kael responding to a lot of problem report posts, and Frogboy chiming in regularly as well. This gives me a much better feeling about FE
I'm not having any problem with bear maul because I've been using a custom sovereign equipped with the hunter's bow. Bears never get anywhere near my line.
Just make it possible to reorder the queue.
Yes, I'd like that too.
Deselecting the "Auto Select Next Unit" in the game options might help avoid that.
Brad, as a sci-fi fan, have you read any of Gene Wolfe's books? He's a virtuoso of the English language.
It's great having lots of flavor text, but having it misspelled really detracts from the game's atomosphere.
Agree. I love Stardock's products (both games and office) but when I see this many misspellings I think, "Don't these guys have a spellchecker?"
That glitch could become a feature : create a quest that would take the sov back as a champion for you (soul bind of something like that)
Ooh, I like that!
The missing body of the sovereign has been reported, but only a few people seem to be seeing it. I'm not, for example. Could you post your system specs and video driver level? That might help the developers isolate the problem.
The AI is using standard units - my army just fought an army from Altar that included Defenders, which have leather armor.
*It's not helpful to have alerts when I take control of a resource I don't yet have the tech to utilize. Instead those !'s should appear when I research the tech that lets me use a resource.
Yes. What he said.
I think I've seen this reported in the forum before, but I can't find it. The Abandoned Dig quest, when triggered, spawns a secondary quest location called the Lost Temple, and requires you to explore it. In my case, the Lost Temple spawned in a spot I cant get to, illustrated below: It's in the middle of the wall, and I can't reach it from either side. My army is righ
The description for the Enchantment tech says that it provides the Guardian Statue, however in 0.86 it looks like that was moved to the Arcane Mastery tech:
There's a text field at the top, in what looks like a blank grey area:
You can try turning off "Auto Select Next Unit" in the Options:
