It happened after I signed a trade treaty.
Ah, that's different. Maybe when they eliminated caravans in 0.86 they missed this.
I killed those dragons with regular units and my sovereign.
Were we fighting the same Dragons? I was fighting the Dragon Lord and 6 dragons as the finale of the Dragon's Eye quest in 0.77. I've been getting warnings from the AIs in 0.86 that there's a Dragon Lord wandering about, but I haven't seen him yet nor have I tried the Dragon's Eye quest in 0.86.
Minutes after posting on Frogboy's "Smart Exception" thread that I'd had remarkably few crashes, I got one. Hit end of turn, the game thought for a while, and then I got the Windows "Fallen Enchantress has stopped working" message. No zip file was produced, but here's the debug.err.
I've had remarkably few crashes so far, and have posted them all, but this is a good enhancement.
I must be doing something wrong. Food was scarce for me in 0.77 and it's scarce for me in 0.86.
Same here. Maybe it's because I'm doing everything I can to increase my city growth rate and population. In .77 I had lots of towns hit their population cap because of lack of food.
By the way, has anyone figured out how to defeat an army of dragons?
I was able to do it twice in .77 (as part of the Dragon's Eye quest) with a stack of high level champions each time. There's no way in .86 to level up enough to be able to do it.
This was reported in .75 and .77 also. Had you been playing a game and then loaded a saved game without exiting FE? That was the case in the earlier reports and is one of several problems with loading saved games without exiting.
How is it bugged? Does the battle freeze when you use it? I have a champion with Reprisal, and haven't had any problems using it. I'm on Win 7 64, with Intel I7 CPU, ATI Mobility Radeon 5870.
There were complaints that the maul ability didn't work because the opponent always dodged on the second strike. But in the last couple of games I played on .77, I was lucky enough to find a couple of axes with the maul ability, and I didn't see that happening. It was working as advertised for me. It was fun seeing a troll take 40 damage from successive 5 and 7 point hits.
While saving and reloading the game I mentioned in the OP still did not allow me to train the new units. However, I started a new game, and now I do see the units available to train.
I frequently send units in completely the wrong direction when I'm clicking with a top mountain top immediately below where I want to go.
Happens to me frequently, too. Very annoying.
Playing on a large map, I've explored this much of the map: and I have now found my first quest hut. It does really seem like there aren't as many as in .77.
I have random CTD, where do I get the dump files?
Please refer to this post on how to report a problem and where to find the files.
If the pathfinding can't be improved, then yes we need this feature badly.
Much earlier in my current game, I designed a modified spearman and was able to train several of them. Now, I've designed 4 different units with varying equipment and abilities, and although the xml files show up in my units folder, none of them appear when I go to train a unit in my towns. Has anyone else seen anything similar?
In 0.86 you have to research the Cooperation tech to recruit mercenaries. It's in the civilization tree.
The Administration tech lets you recruit Wildlings as a Kingdom, and the Cooperation tech lets you recruit Mercenaries. I don't see one for trolls.
IMO, that tooltip should be modified to say which technology is required.
I agree.
Also, the description of the Trading tech still references Caravans, which were removed in 0.85.
Is it a bad thing to take fellow kingdom faction, even if opportune?
It reduces your popularity with the other Kingdom factions, increasing the possibility that they will go to war with you. But you have to weigh that against what you could gain from it. Also, you can do things like establish trade routes with the remaining Kingdoms to get their opinion of you back up.
This has been present since at least .75. If you quit the game by hitting the Retire button, you get this message: Tireing is not a word. If it were, it would perhaps refer to putting new tires on a vehicle. As it is not, the word you want is tiring.
Also, the Restoration tech says it provides Gardens, but these have also been moved to an leveling up option.
Between .77 and .85, the ability to build merchants in towns was removed from the Civics tech and is now given as an option when leveling up a town. However, the description of the Civics tech still says it provides Merchants:
I'm seeing this now on 0.86 when I didn't on 0.77.
Have you tried the tab key?
That was reported in 0.77. Looks like it didn't get fixed.
