100% great idea, [e digicons]k1[/e] , I love it. Would greatly alleviate many city abuses such as:
On the topic of buildings you can stretch your city far to the side in a stringy snake fashion, you can do this even with squarish late game cities by demolishing buildings on one side and building towards an area. This allows you to basically teleport your units over 5-10 tiles by abusing the city movement.
&nbs

Great feedback, I wish I had the time to type out my thoughts in such an organized manner [e digicons]|-)[/e]
* One thing that bothers me about the currently technology progression requirement for monster lairs, is that you build up a big army to kill that drake and its army of pack drakes, and you succeed in killing them, but then it takes absolutely forever before you can actually gain any benefit from having conquered that lair because the lair lets you recru

What can be done now to significantly change FE into a better game?
I think for the most part we can all agree that FE is going to be better than WoM in many fundamental ways. Some people may seem overly critical but its mostly because we all want to make sure various things are brought up and pointed out while the game is still in bet
Respawning monsters (ESPECIALLY with the awful caravan system in place) makes the mid/late game intolerable, as you have to constantly put out brushfires in your back yard while dealing with the real threats from the other players.
The caravans in FE will respawn in a few turns after being destroyed you know right? Its not a perfect system but its a lot better than WoM. [quote who="St

And 1 grain = 1 farmer = 1 food. If I were to hazard a guess, they just removed the "middle man" (pun intended). Instead of a building that gives you +1 farmer, they just have buildings that give you +1 grain instead.
Pretty sure this is it, with malcontents now

If you upgrade your unit's accuracy at all, maul almost never misses [e digicons]XD[/e] A 50% penalty to miss EVERY time would probably still be too OP. I killed the earth elemental lord ( the worm guy) with 2 attacks from a lvl 5 guy :D

Amazing, I actually agree completely with every suggestion in the OP. In addition to the above I think loot drops and equipment in general need a complete balance overhaul. Its far too common for me to get things such as champion gear from simply moving onto a tile, while I will fight an army of fierce trolls later and get something mediocre like a wooden shield. I'll beat an elemental lord and get a darkling cloak. The effort needed to take down an enemy should ref

I like the idea of the gate building and I also think in addition to large gold maint each gate should consume 1 mana/turn as upkeep so they aren't simply spammed at every city. Instead of something complicated like having 2 gate sets it should just be possible to move between any gates. Cloudwalk/Teleport are still completely OP and should be removed no matter what mana cost you set it at.

I understand the strategy concept with later buildings adding and subtracting from the grain/material for various benefits but it seems awfully bland right now. Personally I find city building a chore as I simply queue up all the +food buildings for grain based towns and all the +production buildings for materials based towns. I love how there are buildings like lumberjack and watermill that provide benefits for being near a forest/river but these are few and far between and for the most part

Reply to BETA IS GOLD! in FE Beta

I think I got a release version by mistake, how do I download the Beta instead? Just kidding, but so far all the bugs I've noticed are either typos or otherwise too minor to report and due to me intentionally trying to find bugs, perhaps I have been very lucky. I am having a lot more fun with FE today than I have probably had with WoM total. So far I haven't had any of the major issues WoM has with reloading saves changing the world in strange ways either which

The Dragon Tooth (sp) item is usable but does nothing. Likely the bug is its usability. On the subject of dragons I killed the one the bard summons from the quest yet it drops nothing. Not sure if this is a bug, random chance, or working as intended. Totally off topic; my poor pet dog finished it off (after hiding a safe distance away the entire battle), gained a bunch of levels, but no stats, pet dogs are useless unless they evolve at much later levels like pok

There are some strong starting traits you can put points into that will adjust your stats. For example there is one called Might or something that will give you +1 str per level up. When your hero/champions gain levels you will be able to choose additional traits that can increase your stats or provide new abilities. There also seems to be a lot more variety in equipment/accessories that boost your stats as well.
Sounds pretty awesome Frogboy. The re-populating/leveling monsters/bandits really adds an organic feel to the game. The one complaint i've always had with the Civ series is that the bandits in that game are irrelevant after ~100 turns. Played a bit to freshen before heading into FE later this week :D After 78 turns my game crashed to desktop due to "Invalid Cell Call". (update)On second game I made it to turn 146, this time I tabbed out so maybe it causes it. I made a treaty with Procipinee on turn 3 due to her spawning right next to me and being on Extreme (was afraid of getting rushed). Afterwards I could find no mention of us having a NAP and there seems to be no way to disso

Most of Stardock Entertainment’s resources are currently being put on the second Elemental title (Fallen Enchantress) which is a fairly radical departure from War of Magic (other than art resources). I can’t go into much detail regarding it other than to say it that it is much more similar to a Civilization/Master of Magic style strategy game versus a Galactic Civilizations/HOMM style strategy game (i.e. every tile of terrain matters i.e. building near
