I believe the tech trees are a useful part of EWOM. They add choices that have to be made about the direction of your civilization. That makes the game more immersive. This is just my opinion, of course, I recognize that what each person enjoys in the game may be different.

I think more magic - including more magic trees are needed - not less. That's where a lot of the flavor of the game needs to come from. More spells - especially more diverse spells like the ones you just mentioned in your post on the spell contest - would help a lot. The additon of more magic items that can be found, won or made would also be a help to add to the "just one more turn" feeling. More quests - more difficulty levels and more fighting over items.<

These spells sound great. It would be nice to have all of them in the game - not just one. If this is a good sampling of the ovrerall spells that were turned in then I suggest you re-think only putting one in the game. Talk about giving the game a unique flavor!

I have not had a lot of previous trouble with EWOM crashes. However, I have had recently. Quite often when I try to save the game it crashes to desktop. It happens more often the longer I play. I have uploaded a debug.err file to pastebin. It is file number 2010397. Thanks.

In 1.09n I understand that in addition to researching bows, I have to build an archery range in a city to be able to train units with bows. What tech do I have to learn to be able to build an archery range? Thanks.

I just upgraded to 1.09n last night and started my first game. When I researched the "Logistics" tech I expected to be able to train parties of 4. However, in subsequent turns after learning Logistics I am still only able to train 1 individual at a time. The problem is not number of people in the town as I have more than 4 free. I also don't remember seeing a change to learning how to train a party in the 1.09n change log. Can anyone h

Space Empires V has been better since its release. However, I still prefer SE IV. Both games give the player the ability to change almost anything during set up so you can make the game what you want it to be. The research trees are good and the options for ship design are many. My game did not have any ships on autoexplore. I'll watch for that one. I saved the debug.err file for SD but haven't heard anything yet. Perhaps if SD support looks at that file they can sort it out.

During the end of my turn - when the button you push to let the AI have a turn is greyed out - it normally just takes a few seconds before control of the game comes back to me. In this case it went to greyed out and stayed there. Eventually, I used task master to shut down elemental. This was way into a game on one of the very large mod maps that I found in your map mods section. The debug.err file is number 1960513 on pastebin.

At version 1.09E+ the game is fun and so far pretty stable. A lot of progress has been made from where it was a launch. However, the best part is the promise of a great game experience that is there - with the right changes and additions this can be a classic that will be fun and interesting for a long time. My suggestions for EWOM, either 1.1 or later: 1. Flexibility: Right now there are a lot of divergent ideas on various topics. One example is the maximum number of individuals there should be in the regular units. Of course right now that's 4/8/12 depending on which techs you have researched. In order to make the game more inclusive for the community I suggest the maximum unit size be an option the player can set at the start of the game.&nbs

Since I have upgraded to 1.09e I can no longer load mod maps. I am playing single player - not multiplayer. I have use mods checked in options. When I try to start a new game if I load a mod map - including the mega map designed by Frogboy - the game CTD. These are all mod maps that I have used a number of times prior to this update. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Based on Frogboy's comments on the 1.1 patch it should get us to a solid footing for the basic game. I already find it quite enjoyable. That should not be a great surprise as I am a big fan of games like MOM and AOW:SM. At the same time I have both been reading the ideas in the forums and thinking of what I would like to see added to EWOM. So here are a few of those ideas put forward in the spirit of long term growth for the game.

Prior to the release of 1.08 there was some comment by Frogboy that the first installment of the "extra content" for those that had purchased the book would be available. I purchased the book and entered the code some time ago. However, I don't see any extra content that came out at the same time as 1.08. Do we have a revised ETA for the first installment of that content?

I have seen the same thing. These are not monster champions - you can't fight them. The issue is the dialogue to hire them or their cost to be hired is not available.

It appears in 1.08 that I am unable to hire or even find out the cost of champions now. I am able to hire people with trades (increase gold or research, etc) but not a champion that is purely for fighting. Has anyone else seen this or am I missing something here?
