My biggest complaint about the game is apparently none of the developers knows of real life physics / technology. Comm range is ridiculous (a few kilometers, wtf?), ships have no inertia (I cannot kill acceleration, and then rotate 180 to shoot someone chasing me), ship speeds are ridiculous (250m/s? the SR-71 could go 3.5km/h!), etc.
Gameplay > Realism.

Egosoft, the developer behind the X-series is currently working on what they call "the ultimate space-sim". No other info, but still something to look forward to.

1: In my opinion, absolutely. But others disagree. 2: Yes. 3: Depends. For some people it runs flawlessly after the patches, some still get memory leaks and crashes. Also, a lot of people think the UI is terrible and unintuitive, but I've got no problem with it. However, I played EVE Online and X³ so I don't even notice terrible UIs anymore. 4: / 5: The AI alternates between clever and pants-on-head retarded. 6: Yes. 7: For me it was worth
I suggest we end this discussion once and for all, by using triangles.
I'm doing quite a lot of damage with my spells... IF they hit. Which happens nearly never. Apparently every little thug is fast enough to evade a fireball flying at him. [e digicons]:([/e]
Same here. Day 0 patch didn't fix it.
Happens to me too. Luckily only when alt-tabbing, not while playing. Still, pretty annoying. http://pastebin.ca/1924371
It would be nice if fielding spiders in a tactical battle reduced the morale of all human units, including your own, a little bit. Everybody is scared of giant spiders, right? [e digicons]:D[/e]
I know it's nitpicking, but I suggest adding a colon or dash to the Total Army Hitpoint bars, e.g. 'Army of Capitar - Total Hitpoints'. Also, thanks for the early release. [e digicons]:D[/e]
galaxy sized star ships!
I may have to buy this game now...
I know it's a bit too late for that kind of criticism, but I think buildings on mountains look very strange. Anyway, looking forward to the early release. [e digicons]:D[/e]
Very interesting. [e digicons]:)[/e] Also, I can't be the only one who read that as 'Frogworld.org', right?
Interestingly, if you enter the names of some of the people complaining about being banned into Google, their profile at "www.steam-hacks.co.uk" is among the first results. [e digicons][/e]
Nexus - The Jupiter Incident. That was an awesome game. I wish they'd have made that planned sequel... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhZQEvg1V0Y
Something similar happened to me: An NPC went to the goodie hut I had sent my sovereign to. The sov killed him when he arrived there and I got that message about how evil I am. [e digicons]-_-[/e]
Quoting Vladesch, reply 2What else do you put in a special edition? T-shirts? By far the most awesome stuff was Nightvision goggle in COD:MW 2 prestige edition.
You mean those cheap plastic toys they sold for hundreds of dollars? Because, you know, those things aren't real nightvision goggles. If they put real ones in there, thousands of idiots would blind themselves looking into the sunlight wi
Spell Name: Sandstorm Strategic Arcane Knowledge: 20 Mana required: 20 Earth and Air shards required Effect: An area of 5x5 tiles is covered by a sandstorm that lasts for 5 turns. Everything inside the sandstorm has its vision range and movement speed reduced to 1 and takes a bit of damage every turn. If you are outside the sandstorm, you can't see what's inside of it, even when it is in your vision range. Spell Book: Earth o
I still think it should be 'Water' instead of 'Ice' shards. That would make more sense. The 'classic' elements are Fire, Water , Earth, Air. Also, spells like 'Flood' (and maybe later Tsunami?) requiring an Ice shard is strange.
Will the Sovereign be able to cast spells while on a ship, or can he only do that when he is on land?
Will the AI call the player a noob, blame lag and ragequit if it's losing? [e digicons]8C[/e]
Some console screenshots, the PC version will probably look even better: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=397260 [e digicons]:D[/e]
Wait, there are people who liked Invisible War? [e digicons]8C[/e] Anyway, the trailer looks awesome. What I heard so far about the gameplay is also promising. (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=86841) Also, a short reminder: The trailer is made by Square Enix, the game itself IS NOT.
How are they even Independent Games if ActiVision funds the development? [e digicons][/e]
I actually like plastic boxes more than metal boxes... maybe something is wrong with me. [e digicons]8C[/e] Well, as long as it isn't paper, I'm okay with it.
